My Martial Dao Has No Bottlenecks
Chapter 156 101: Slaying Another True Qi (Part 2)Profound Yin Sword—Bone Penetration Cold!
BOOM—!!!
The instant the three forces collided, the ground of the entire stony flat sank violently. A shockwave swept outward, snapping dozens of nearby trees in half!
Liang Cheng spat out a mouthful of blood, relieving the shock to his internal organs. The webbing of his hand nearly tore open, but he kept a firm grip on his Zhenxian Saber, not retreating a single step.
The Bronze Masked Man flew backward, crashing through three large boulders before he barely managed to stop.
A bone-deep saber wound now gashed his chest, running diagonally from his left shoulder to his right abdomen. A faint blue True Qi was continuously eroding the injury, preventing the Blood Erosion Force from healing it.
Even more fatal was a pinprick-sized black dot on his chest over his heart. The Profound Yin Sword Qi had pierced through his body and was now wreaking havoc within his Meridians.
"You..."
He looked down at his chest, his eyes filled with disbelief. "How could this be..."
Liang Cheng wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and advanced slowly. With every step, the faint golden luster surrounding him grew brighter. Golden Armor Realm Perfection, at full power!
"You're not even as good as Xu Jinjiang!"
At these words, the Bronze Masked Man spat out another mouthful of blood in shame and fury.
It was a blow meant to crush his spirit.
He watched Liang Cheng approach step by step, secretly calculating the distance. But Liang Cheng stopped five paces away and went no further.
"Xu Jinjiang is dead, and so are you. You're not much stronger than he was."
The Bronze Masked Man gave a bitter laugh. "Good. Very good, Liang Cheng."
"Don't you want to know how we so accurately avoided Lin Wu City's defenses? Or who our mole in the city is? Come closer, and I'll tell you."
Liang Cheng didn't move.
"Speak. I'm listening."
"You cunning brat. Not giving me a single chance."
As he spoke, his aura suddenly shifted. His eyes turned crimson, and he shot to his feet, lunging at Liang Cheng. "Die with me! The Holy Flame descends! Eternal paradise!"
Liang Cheng's pupils contracted. He was already on guard, and he instantly activated his Wandering Dragon Step. He dodged away within inches.
BANG!
With a loud bang, the Bronze Masked Man self-destructed. Everything within a fifty-foot radius was annihilated. His aura rapidly dissipated, and he was gone from the world.
Only a Fire Worship Sect Guardian Token was left behind.
'How ruthless!'
Liang Cheng sighed to himself. He looked toward the center of the explosion, but unfortunately, he still hadn't seen the man's face. He picked up the token and shook his head.
'What a shame.'
Liang Cheng sighed helplessly and turned to go back. Not long after, Liang Cheng's expression changed.
"Who's there? Come out."
Immediately after, Wu Zhenshan appeared before him, a smile on his face.
"Liang Zhenchuan, there was a loud noise just now. Master Lü was worried something might have happened to you, so he sent me to see what was going on."
Liang Cheng smiled instantly. "I'm fine. Sorry to trouble you, Wu the Treasurer."
"And the fiend from the Fire Worship Cult?"
"He escaped."
"He escaped?"
Wu Zhenshan breathed a silent sigh of relief, but then shook his head. 'That was an expert at True Qi Realm Perfection,' he thought. 'How could he possibly have died at Liang Cheng's hands?'
'Such needless worry.'
"Yes, he was too fast. I couldn't catch him."
Hearing this, Wu Zhenshan was finally at ease. He offered some words of comfort, "Liang Zhenchuan, you shouldn't blame yourself. Your opponent was at True Qi Realm Perfection, after all."
"Thank you for your understanding, Wu the Treasurer. Just in case, let's head back first."
"Alright."
Liang Cheng walked in front with Wu Zhenshan following behind. A flicker of uncertainty crossed Wu Zhenshan's eyes, but he ultimately pushed aside his stray thoughts and hurried along in silence.
By the time Liang Cheng and Wu Zhenshan returned to the Dongshan Mine camp, the sky was already beginning to lighten with the dawn.
The camp was brightly lit. Lü Bingchen was standing on a temporarily erected watchtower. Seeing the two return safely, he clearly breathed a sigh of relief.
He leaped down from the high platform and strode over.
"How did it go?"
"He escaped," Liang Cheng said concisely. "I couldn't catch him."
Lü Bingchen's gaze swept over Wu Zhenshan, but the latter's expression was unchanged. "As long as you're safe, that's what matters."
Wu Zhenshan spoke up at the opportune moment. "Master Lü, we shouldn't linger here. We don't know if that Evil Cult Guardian had any accomplices nearby. The mine is in ruins, and the injured need to be evacuated back to the city for treatment as soon as possible."
Lü Bingchen mulled it over for a moment, then nodded. "Wu the Treasurer is right. We will set out at daybreak."
Wu Zhenshan nodded. After a brief conversation, he returned to his tent to rest.
Liang Cheng then asked, "Master, how is Wang Teng's condition?"
"Elder Huang is still treating him."
Liang Cheng followed his gaze to a lit thatched hut not far away. "I'll go take a look."
...
The air in the thatched hut was thick with the scent of medicine.
Elder Huang was slowly extracting a Golden Needle from the top of Wang Teng's head. Its tip drew out a strand of black blood. Wang Teng lay on a wooden plank bed, his face pale as a sheet, his chest rising and falling faintly.
"Elder Huang."
Liang Cheng spoke softly, but Elder Huang didn't even turn around. "What's all the noise? Can't you see I'm busy?"
His movements were incredibly fast. In the blink of an eye, he drove seven more needles into Wang Teng's chest. The ends of the needles vibrated with a faint hum. A moment later, Wang Teng grunted, and a trickle of dark blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.
"There. He'll live."
Only then did Elder Huang turn around, wiping the sweat from his brow. "The Blood Erosion Force entered his lung meridians. It's a good thing I arrived in time. His Meridians are severely damaged, though. It'll take at least a year or so to recover. Luckily, his foundation wasn't harmed, so it won't affect his future Cultivation."
Liang Cheng also breathed a sigh of relief. After all, Wang Teng had come to Dongshan Mine in his place.
At this moment, Elder Huang glanced at him. "You're injured?"
"It's nothing serious."
Liang Cheng wasn't surprised that Elder Huang could tell he had suffered a slight injury.
"Give me your hand."
Liang Cheng held out his wrist. Elder Huang placed three fingers on it, and a moment later, his eyebrows shot up. "Not bad, kid. You took a full-force blow from the Blood Erosion Force, and your internal organs are only slightly shaken. That Hard Skill of yours... tsk tsk."
Elder Huang clicked his tongue a couple of times but said no more. Liang Cheng gave a modest smile. "It's all thanks to the Source Replenishing Pills you refined, Elder Huang. They aided my Cultivation."
"Enough with the flattery. If you're fine, then get out."
Elder Huang tried to shoo him away, leaving Liang Cheng unsure whether to laugh or cry. "Aren't you going to give me some Elixirs for my injuries, Elder Huang?"
