Before he could even finish speaking, Liang Cheng made his move. This time, he didn’t draw a blade; he simply stepped forward and threw a single, straight punch.
A faint blue True Qi enveloped his fist, creating a piercing sonic boom as it shot straight for the Central Palace!
In the True Qi Realm, his Perfect Fierce Bull Force was on a whole new level of power.
Tie Xiongshan remained perfectly composed. For years, he had dominated Black Wind Ridge by relying on his Hundred Refinement Ghost Head Saber and his arduously cultivated Horizontal Hard Skills.
He let out a wild roar and, instead of retreating, charged forward. His muscles bulged like iron as a gray-black True Qi erupted from his blade. With mountain-breaking force, he brought his saber down in a ferocious chop!
CLANG—!!!
Fist met saber. The faint blue and gray-black True Qis collided with a deafening boom, like the toll of a giant bell. A furious shockwave erupted, shaking dust from the rafters. A faint Dark Gold light flickered across Liang Cheng’s fist as his body stood firm as a boulder.
Golden Armor Realm!
Tie Xiongshan felt an overwhelming force travel up the blade of his saber, a force that contained a bizarre, nine-layered power that struck again and again without end!
Broken Wave Technique·Ninth Layer Force!
The webbing between his thumb and forefinger split open, splattering blood. Caught off guard, he could no longer grip his saber. It flew from his grasp and embedded itself deep in the stone wall behind him with a loud THUD.
"What?!"
Tie Xiongshan’s pupils contracted. His mind reeled in utter shock.
True Qi Realm!
’He caught my saber strike with his bare hands, and the rebound force alone knocked the weapon from my grasp. If he isn’t a master in the True Qi Realm, how could that be possible?’
"Die, you bastard!"
But his astonishment only served to awaken his feral nature. Charging forward once more, his skin instantly took on the metallic luster of gray iron. His palms turned a glossy black as he struck at Liang Cheng’s chest, his attack carrying a foul, chilling wind.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Yet Liang Cheng didn’t dodge or evade. A faint, Dark Gold radiance flowed around him like ripples on water as all three palm strikes landed squarely on his chest.
The Palm Force struck his body with a series of dull thuds, but the vicious Power—strong enough to shatter stone steles—simply vanished as if it had never been there.
Liang Cheng hadn’t moved an inch.
"This is impossible!"
Tie Xiongshan’s eyes bulged in utter horror. His Black Death Palm had never failed, yet now someone had taken the blows head-on and emerged completely unscathed!
In the instant Tie Xiongshan’s mind reeled in shock, a sharp glint flashed in Liang Cheng’s eyes. Activating his Wandering Dragon Step, he moved.
His left hand shot out like lightning, his fingers like a talon, precisely locking onto the wrist Tie Xiongshan had just struck with.
He formed a sword with the fingers of his right hand, a wisp of bone-chilling Sword Qi pulsing unsteadily at their tip.
Profound Yin Sword Technique·Cold Star Pointing Jade!
Then, his finger descended like a meteor streaking across the night sky.
The point of cold starlight rapidly magnified in Tie Xiongshan’s pupils. He tried to dodge but found his entire presence locked in place, an icy chill rendering him immobile as if he’d been plunged into a frozen cellar.
Tie Xiongshan felt a single point of cold on his brow, and then an endless darkness and cold instantly devoured all his senses.
A spot of crimson quietly blossomed on his forehead. A trickle of blood, mixed with fine ice crystals, slowly seeped out. He opened his mouth but could not make a sound.
His massive frame crashed to the ground like a collapsing mountain, the final look of horror and bewilderment in his eyes frozen forever.
Liang Cheng withdrew his finger, a flicker of surprise in his expression.
’I’ve only just entered the True Qi Realm, yet the Eldest Master of Black Wind Ridge, a man who dominated this entire region, couldn’t even last three exchanges with me.’
’Am I too strong, or was he just too weak?’
He shook his head, casting the stray thoughts aside. He quickly searched Tie Xiongshan’s body and the Unity Hall. In addition to gold and other valuables, he found several secret letters in a hidden compartment inside a secret room.
As he unfolded and read them, Liang Cheng’s gaze turned ice-cold. ’No wonder Tie Xiongshan knew my name.’
The letters were from Xu Zhang himself. He and Tie Xiongshan had made a pact to set an ambush here to surround and kill Liang Cheng.
However, after a fruitless wait of nearly three months with no sign of Liang Cheng, Xu Zhang had concluded that he must have fled far away and would not be returning. He had left behind a portrait of Liang Cheng, instructing Tie Xiongshan to remain vigilant and report back immediately if any clues surfaced.
Liang Cheng sneered after reading the letters. He stowed them away along with the Black Iron Token that signified the status of the Eldest Master of the Black Wind Thieves.
The gold and other treasures were too heavy, so Liang Cheng only took the silver banknotes. He dug a large pit and buried the rest for a rainy day. Then, with no reason to linger, he struck a spark and lit a fuse.
Flames began to rise, spreading rapidly and devouring the bandit hideout. The blaze lit up half the mountain ridge in a crimson glow.
The dancing flames illuminated his departing figure as he headed straight down the mountain.
