My Martial Dao Has No Bottlenecks

Chapter 98 - 82: Slaying the Flipping River Flood Dragon

Seeing this, the surrounding Sea Bandits were all aghast and pale with fright.

’The Eldest Master was defeated?’

’They’ve only exchanged twenty moves!’

Liang Cheng gave the Flipping River Flood Dragon no chance to breathe. With a tap of his toes, he unleashed his Wandering Dragon Step at full power. His figure closed in again like a phantom, and the gleam of his saber flashed once more.

This time, his Saber Momentum was like a raging tempest, completely enveloping the Flipping River Flood Dragon. With both arms broken, the pirate could only roll and dodge pathetically.

Unable to use his Sword Qi, he had lost seventy percent of his skill. He was completely outmatched by Liang Cheng’s saber, dodging one perilous strike after another.

SHHNK!

The blade swept past, tearing a gash on his back so deep the bone was visible.

SHHNK!

Another slash nearly severed his left leg.

In an instant, the Flipping River Flood Dragon was a man drenched in blood, leaving a glaring, bloody trail across the deck.

Fear finally appeared in his eyes.

’Escape!’

’I have to escape!’

He bit his tongue hard, spat out Essence Blood, and activated a Secret Technique. His speed skyrocketed as he fled directly into the depths of the waterway.

"Trying to run?"

Liang Cheng snorted. Pushing his Perfection Realm Wandering Dragon Step to its absolute limit, he started later but arrived first, instantly blocking the Flipping River Flood Dragon’s path.

This time, he didn’t use his saber. He brought two fingers together, and a strand of faint blue True Qi, condensed with a chilling cold, pulsed uncertainly at his fingertips.

Profound Yin Sword Technique—Cold Star Pointing Jade!

He thrust a finger forward.

The True Qi left his fingertip, transforming into three points of bleak, cold starlight that shot toward the Flipping River Flood Dragon in a triangular formation.

The Flipping River Flood Dragon roared, "The Profound Yin Sword Technique?! How do you know it?"

Before his words faded, the three points of starlight had already sunk into the Flipping River Flood Dragon’s brow, throat, and heart. A bead of crimson slowly seeped from each point, quickly becoming coated with a thin layer of white frost.

His eyes widened, staring at Liang Cheng in utter disbelief, and with a trace of regret. ’Why didn’t I kill him back then?’

Liang Cheng retracted his fingers and walked up to him.

"I learned your sword technique. You didn’t kill me then, so I’m using it to kill you now."

The Flipping River Flood Dragon’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He tried to say something, but only bloody foam bubbled from his mouth. The light in his eyes quickly dimmed, and his body slowly fell backward.

THUD.

The corpse slammed heavily onto the deck.

He died with his eyes open.

Liang Cheng let out a breath and bent down, pulling an oilskin pouch from the Flipping River Flood Dragon’s robes.

He turned and scanned his surroundings. The remaining Black Tide Pirates were already scared out of their wits and fleeing for their lives.

Liang Cheng did not pursue them.

With a single, swift motion of his saber.

THWACK.

The Flipping River Flood Dragon’s head was separated from his body. Liang Cheng tore off a piece of the ship’s sail, wrapped the head in it, and tied it to his back.

Only after finishing this did he look down at the oilskin pouch in his hand.

He opened the pouch. Inside were four items:

A stack of silver banknotes with large denominations.

A secret, wax-sealed letter with nothing written on the envelope.

A ledger.

And, a sheet of dark yellow cowhide paper with a familiar texture.

Liang Cheng, expressionless, hid the cowhide paper close to his body before breaking the seal on the secret letter.

The letter was brief, containing just two lines:

"Urgent. Destroy the ledger at once and retreat to Safehouse No. 3. The Holy Sect’s grand affair is imminent. All of you must remain in concealment and await activation."

At the signature line was a flame-shaped seal.

The Fire Worship Sect.

Liang Cheng’s expression changed. He then opened the ledger, only to find it was written entirely in code and completely unintelligible. For now, he could only put the items away.

At that moment, the sounds of battle in the distance began to dwindle.

Liang Cheng guessed that the Martial Arts Academy’s main force was also nearing the end of their cleanup operation.

「On the outskirts of Wuyin Reef.」

On the deck of the Martial Arts Academy’s Tower Ship, the blood had not yet dried.

Yun Jinghong sheathed his sword. His white robes were stained with blood, his expression cold and severe. At his feet lay the bodies of three Black Tide leaders.

Lu Qingzhou was directing several disciples to take inventory of the seized supplies. His expression was calm, though a tear was visible on his sleeve.

Zhao Yuan and Li Mu bandaged each other’s wounds, then plopped onto the ground, panting heavily. Their eyes shone brightly, their expressions somewhat exhilarated.

Although they were unknowns among the Martial Arts Academy disciples, they were geniuses who had fought their way up from their respective hometowns!

In this battle, although the Martial Arts Academy disciples had suffered some casualties, the Black Tide’s main force was completely crushed. The occasional stragglers who fled in all directions no longer posed a threat.

Yan Song stood at the ship’s bow, nodding to himself in approval. The performance of these Martial Arts Academy disciples was satisfactory. Just then, a black figure emerged from the dense fog, walking on the waves.

Liang Cheng’s black clothes were splattered with blood, but his back was as straight as a spear. He carried a canvas-wrapped bundle, from the bottom of which seeped dark red.

He leaped onto the deck and tossed the bundle on the ground. A head with wide, staring eyes rolled out.

Flipping River Flood Dragon.

A sharp light burst from Yan Song’s eyes. He took a step forward and said in a deep voice, "Good! An excellent kill!"

Liang Cheng cupped his fist. "I was fortunate to not fail the mission."

Just then, a voice suddenly spoke out. Yan Song’s expression changed, and he stepped in front of Liang Cheng, shielding him.

"Boy, don’t take things that don’t belong to you. Hand over the ledger."

At some unknown point, a figure had appeared at the ship’s stern. He wore a gray robe, his face hidden beneath a cloth wrap, but his eyes were unnervingly bright, like a viper that had locked onto its prey.

Yan Song shouted sternly, "Who are you?!"

The gray-robed man didn’t answer. His gaze fell on Liang Cheng, and he repeated himself, "Boy, hand over the ledger."

Liang Cheng clutched the oilskin pouch in his hand, his expression calm. "Who are you?"

The gray-robed man slowly raised a hand, his five fingers spread. A frigid aura began to spread. "Stubborn fool. Hand over the ledger, and I’ll leave you a complete corpse."

Yan Song laughed in fury. "Such arrogance! You dare threaten a True Inheritor of my Martial Arts Academy right in front of me?"

He took a step forward, and the aura around him exploded. The pressure of a True Qi Late Stage Realm expert bore down like a mountain, instantly kicking up a gale across the deck.

The gray-robed man, however, remained perfectly still. His eyes merely narrowed. "Yan Song, Head of Law Enforcement for the Martial Arts Academy. I’m afraid you are no match for me."

Before his words had faded, his figure suddenly moved. When he reappeared, he was already three feet in front of Liang Cheng!
