Cao Zhen flew north all the way, and before long, a range of towering, continuous mountains appeared before his eyes.
Looking more carefully, he could see that in the middle of the range stood a single, highest peak; the other mountains clustered around it like stars around the moon, guarding it at the center.
This mountain rose straight into the clouds, mist coiling around its summit like white silk dancing atop the peak, exuding a mysterious and tranquil aura.
This should be the Holy Mountain those residents spoke of.
Cao Zhen continued flying forward, and soon noticed one Cultivator after another converging from all directions, flying just like he was.
Yet no matter which Cultivator it was, as soon as they flew near the Holy Mountain, they all seemed to lose the ability to fly and plunged straight down.
Before long, Cao Zhen also flew close to the Holy Mountain. In the next instant, a terrifying pulling force suddenly struck; the power was so strong that even he had no ability to resist. His body lost control and fell, crashing heavily onto a spot halfway up the mountain.
"That force... that’s power beyond the Golden Immortal Realm." Cao Zhen lifted his head to look at the road ahead. The ground beneath his feet grew steeper and steeper, a rugged mountain path winding upward.
Looking further up, the mist grew thicker and thicker, filling the ravines and cloaking the entire mountain in a veil of mystery.
He could also see Cultivators one after another climbing toward the summit; these should be Cultivators of various Alien Races.
Cao Zhen turned his gaze on these Cultivators.
Not far from him was a Cultivator whose head resembled that of a Human, yet his body was that of a powerful lion, with a mane that gleamed brilliantly.
There was another Cultivator whose head was Human-like, but his body was that of an agile wolf. His eyes were sharp as blades, his body nimble and quick, and his climbing speed was astonishing.
Another Cultivator had the upper half of a wise scholar’s face, while his lower half was a carp’s tail.
Aside from these, he suddenly even saw a scarecrow...
These Races were also curiously sizing up the other Cultivators around them, yet for the moment no One Clan made a move. They were all observing the others.
Quite a few gazes also fell upon Cao Zhen, for in appearance he looked rather different from the other Races.
As they climbed, the mist gradually dispersed, revealing the Holy Mountain’s true face. The massif was lofty and precipitous, grand and upright, like a giant pillar of Heaven reaching Tongtian and rooted deep into the earth. The mountaintop was wreathed in mist, resembling an Immortal Realm, giving one the sense of stepping into a mysterious Domain.
The mist drifted down like a fine rain, shrouding this place in a dreamlike atmosphere.
And after breaking through that veil of mist, a colossal structure appeared before Cao Zhen’s eyes!
A ruin!
The ruin was magnificently imposing, built of enormous stone blocks and seamless stone pillars, solemn and solid, as if bearing the vicissitudes of endless years.
Directly facing him was the entrance of the ruin—a wide and stately main gate!
The door was inlaid with exquisite gemstones and mysterious Runes, shimmering with dazzling light.
In front of this main gate seemed to be a vast Altar Square.
At the center of the square rose a solemn altar, studded with countless precious gemstones and Xi Shi treasures; the stone surface beneath the altar was carved with intricate murals.
"A ruin."
A robust Cultivator with a horse’s body and a Human face stared at the altar before him, a blazing light suddenly surging in his eyes. His figure shot forward; although he could not fly on this Holy Mountain, his running speed was extremely fast. In the blink of an eye he had rushed onto the altar; at the same time, behind him an Immortal Mountain emerged, and atop the Immortal Mountain seven Immortal Palaces appeared, three of which were anomalous Immortal Palaces.
Only seven Immortal Palaces?
Seeing the Immortal Palaces behind this centaur Cultivator, Cao Zhen was momentarily stunned. These Cultivators somewhat resembled the Beast Clan, yet their aura was different from both Beast Clan and Demon Clan; they should be Cultivators from other worlds.
Those other worlds should be similar to the world of the Human Clan, each with different Races, and the quotas to enter this Primeval Realm should likewise be limited. They would likely select the strongest Cultivators in each Cultivation Realm to enter here.
But this centaur before him had only seven Immortal Palaces—how had he been chosen?
If someone like this could be selected, just how weak was that world?
Cao Zhen swept his gaze around and saw other Cultivators who, like him, wore looks of surprise, as if astonished by how weak this centaur’s Cultivation Base was.
Yet some remained expressionless, either hiding it well or feeling that such strength entering this place was perfectly normal.
In just a short time, the centaur had already rushed to the ruin’s main gate. He did not pause, but raised his two forehooves and stomped heavily at the Stone Door before him. In that instant, his twin hooves seemed like two colossal mountains, crashing down with tremendous force.
The air around seemed unable to withstand this terrifying power, letting out a low, muffled wail.
Even the surrounding space showed distinct ripples.
Watching that descending blow from afar, Cao Zhen swiftly analyzed it in his heart. In terms of immortal power, the strike was ordinary, but it was clear that this centaur Cultivator’s Physical Strength was extremely formidable. At the very least, among the Human Clan, few Cultivators with seven Immortal Palaces possessed such might.
With that strike, even the altar beneath seemed unable to bear his power and let out a series of sharp cracks, while a massive wave of force spread from the tips of his hooves on the ground, surging like raging seas and driving all the air around to the sides.
Yet even such a blow, after detonating with a terrifying boom upon the altar’s base, did not cause the heavy main gate to quiver in the slightest. On the contrary, a terrifying recoil force surged out.
The centaur Cultivator who had just attacked was hurled backward by this recoil, his entire body flung away and slammed hard into a mountain peak behind him.
Dust billowed and shattered rocks flew in all directions.
The sheer impact he carried even caused that mountain peak to collapse outright.
When the smoke cleared, his figure was revealed. Blood already smeared the corner of his mouth; it was obvious that the recoil just now had not been light and had even inflicted internal injuries.
At once, the Cultivators who had been intending to act halted their advance, instead turning their gazes around, as if searching to see whether there was any Great Formation nearby—or perhaps waiting for other Cultivators to make a move.
