"Inspector Wan, are you serious? I’m the one who helped you catch them, and now you’re interrogating me?" Chu Feng said, looking completely exasperated.

’This woman is way too by-the-book,’ he thought, thoroughly annoyed. If it weren’t for her position, Chu Feng would have walked right up and slapped her.

"Name!" Wan Jie asked coldly, completely unyielding.

"Why are you asking for my name? You should hurry up and properly secure those two. Your kind of handcuffs are useless," Chu Feng reminded her, a hint of worry in his voice.

"Name!" But she wasn’t having it and simply repeated the question.

Chu Feng nearly exploded with anger, but there was nothing he could do. He had to answer obediently.

"Chu Feng."

"Age."

"27."

"Sex."

"Lady, can’t you tell? You want me to strip so you can see for yourself? Are you interrogating a criminal?" Chu Feng finally flared up.

"You will cooperate!" Wan Jie slammed her hand on the table.

There was nothing for it. A gentleman doesn’t pick fights with a woman, so Chu Feng simply answered whatever she asked.

"Tell me everything, from the moment you saw the two master thieves to the process of capturing them. Don’t leave a single detail out," Wan Jie said.

Chu Feng suppressed his boiling rage and recounted the entire sequence of events for her.

The whole process took nearly an hour. Wan Jie would ask about certain details several times, which nearly sent Chu Feng into a frenzy.

"Alright, you can go. We’ll contact you if we need you," Wan Jie said to Chu Feng.

"It’s so late. How am I supposed to get back by myself? You should arrange for someone to drive me," Chu Feng said, exasperated.

"We’re short-staffed right now. Get a taxi yourself," Wan Jie said dismissively, clearly having no desire to deal with him.

"You’d better tie those two up properly. Otherwise, you’ll definitely regret it," Chu Feng warned.

"Hurry up and leave. We don’t have time for you," Wan Jie said with a stern expression.

Her words left Chu Feng feeling both angry and helpless. His rage was so intense he felt like he could tear her to shreds.

But there was nothing he could do. After all, she was from the Inspection Bureau.

"By the way, your so-called backup—the Martial Cultivators you called for—where are they? I haven’t seen anyone," Chu Feng asked.

"What does that have to do with you? Is that any of your business?" Wan Jie replied coldly.

"Of course it is. If you don’t tell me, I’m not leaving," Chu Feng said.

"Suit yourself. Stay if you want," Wan Jie said, having no more patience for Chu Feng. She turned to leave.

"Why are you so unreasonable?" Chu Feng’s temper flared.

"Say that again! I’m warning you, if you dare repeat that, I have the authority to detain you!" Wan Jie snapped, her face flushed with anger.

"Alright, alright, Sister Wan, please calm down. Let’s talk outside," a young officer beside Wan Jie quickly interjected.

He then turned to Chu Feng and said, "Our backup should be here in about half an hour. You should head back for now. Don’t worry about things here; those two definitely won’t be able to escape."

"I’ll wait a bit longer," Chu Feng said resignedly.

In truth, he didn’t want to meddle. But those two were no pushovers. If they escaped, his family and friends would all be in danger.

Therefore, Chu Feng absolutely could not let them get away. The key issue was that he had no idea how strong the Martial Cultivators they had summoned were or what their backgrounds were.

After all, both master thieves had reached the Qi Cultivation Realm. Ordinary Martial Cultivators were no match for them at all.

Especially with the two of them together, even two other cultivators at the Qi Cultivation Realm might not be their match.

"You’re not from the Inspection Bureau. Who said you could stay here?" Wan Jie berated Chu Feng.

"I’m the one who caught them, so of course I won’t let them escape. If they get away and something happens to my family, can you bear that responsibility? Once your backup arrives, I’ll leave," Chu Feng retorted coldly.

’If this young woman weren’t so dismissive of those two master thieves, and if he weren’t worried they might escape, he wouldn’t bother with any of this.’

"Suit yourself." Wan Jie turned and walked away, ignoring Chu Feng completely.

From the bottom of her heart, she looked down on Chu Feng, even found him repulsive. That was why her attitude toward him was so hostile.

Hearing her words, Chu Feng was struck with the sudden impulse to just leave and wash his hands of the whole affair.

But after thinking about his wife and father-in-law, he suppressed his temper and waited for another ten minutes.

Ten minutes later, Su Miaoke unexpectedly rushed over.

During the interrogation, Chu Feng’s phone had been confiscated and put on silent. When Su Miaoke couldn’t reach him, she had anxiously hurried to the station.

As soon as she walked through the doors of the Inspection Bureau, she saw Chu Feng sitting in the hall.

"Honey, are you okay? Are you hurt?" Su Miaoke asked frantically.

"Why are you here? Don’t worry, I’m fine," Chu Feng said.

"Big Brother, Sister-in-law insisted on coming. I told her not to worry, but she wouldn’t listen. I had no choice but to bring her," Zhao Quan said helplessly from the side.

"Are you sure you’re okay? Did they do anything to you?" Su Miaoke asked worriedly, constantly lifting his shirt and pant legs to check for injuries.

"Of course not. How could they hit me? Don’t worry, I’m fine. I’m just waiting here for a bit," Chu Feng said.

"Waiting? Who are you waiting for?" Su Miaoke frowned, not understanding what he meant.

"Those two guys I caught. They’re master thieves from the martial world, wanted by numerous Martial Arts Families and the authorities. They’re very strong. If they escape, we’ll be in big trouble," Chu Feng explained.

"Big Brother, you don’t mean the master thieves One-Eyed and Scarface, do you?" Zhao Quan asked, startled.

"Yes, them. You know them?" Chu Feng asked with a nod.

"Know them? Of course, I know them! I’d recognize them even if they were turned to ash. Those two attacked my Zhao Family once, though they didn’t get the upper hand. My mother nearly died by their vicious hands back then," Zhao Quan said with a fierce expression.

Hearing this, Su Miaoke began to feel a sense of dread. It seemed the two people Chu Feng had caught were a much bigger deal than she had realized.

Meanwhile, in another room at the Inspection Bureau.

The ever-confident Wan Jie had locked the two men up together, each with only a single pair of handcuffs. To two master thieves at the Qi Cultivation level, these restraints were as flimsy as paper, ready to be broken at any moment.
