"There’s no need to order so much. It’ll be a waste if we can’t finish it," Chu Feng said to Zhao Quan.
"Brother Chu, what are you saying? Your parents are here, so of course we have to treat them to a proper meal. This is nothing. As long as they’re happy, we could order a few more tables’ worth of food," Zhao Quan said magnanimously.
’He wasn’t the one paying for it anyway. It was all going on Zhao Liu’s tab, and Zhao Liu would settle it himself.’
Soon, several bottles of century-old liquor were brought over.
Chu Yuntian’s eyes lit up when he saw the century-old liquor. "I imagine this vintage is getting rarer by the bottle these days, isn’t it?" he asked.
"You have a keen eye, sir," Sister Li said to Chu Yuntian with a smile. "There isn’t much of this century-old National Cellar liquor left. Every bottle opened is one less in existence, and it’s basically priceless. We acquired these at an auction. Each bottle cost over a million."
To be a manager at the Beihai Restaurant, one naturally had to have a discerning eye. It was clear to her that Chu Feng’s family was not to be trifled with.
"Over a million?" Chu Feng’s mother almost fainted when she heard that.
’A single bottle of liquor for over a million?’
’Will drinking this make you a sage or something?’
Seeing how shocked Chu Feng’s mother was, Zhao Quan quickly chimed in. "Ma’am, please don’t worry. Your only job today is to eat and drink to your heart’s content. I’m covering the entire bill," he said with a hearty laugh.
Soon, the dishes began to arrive.
Every dish was exquisitely presented, and all the ingredients were incredibly fresh.
There was a wide variety of seafood—sea cucumber, lobster, abalone, king crab—and even some ingredients they had never seen before.
The massive table was laden with food. From the sky, to the sea, to the land—it seemed they had a bit of everything.
At first, Chu Feng’s parents were a bit reserved, what with Zhao Quan and the others being there.
But once the meal got underway, everyone loosened up.
The food was absolutely flawless and incredibly delicious. The only catch? It was expensive!
"Quan, I hear you know Zhao Liu?" Chu Yuntian asked, raising his glass to clink with Zhao Quan’s.
"Zhao Liu? Yeah, we know him. He’s been handling all our arrangements since we arrived in Beihai," Zhao Quan replied.
Chu Yuntian was inwardly stunned. ’These young men must have some serious backing.’
’Even Beihai’s "Transportation King," Zhao Liu, seems like just a lackey to them.’
Chu Yuntian had been around the block, so he knew better than to press the issue and didn’t ask any more questions.
「An hour later.」
The massive spread of dishes on the table had been all but devoured.
Chu Feng and Zhao Quan’s group had the biggest appetites, and they’d polished off several bottles of the century-old liquor.
Chu Feng’s father looked completely satisfied.
Su Miaoke tried to go settle the bill, but Zhao Quan stopped her, insisting that he be the one to pay, no matter what.
When the final bill came, the meal had cost over seven million. The bottles of liquor alone were nearly six million, with the food accounting for the remaining million plus.
Seeing the final price, Chu Feng’s mother started trembling. She remarked that the world of the wealthy was truly beyond her imagination.
’A single meal cost more than an ordinary family makes in a lifetime.’
"Xiao Feng, they spent so much today. You must make sure to treat them to meals in the future when you get the chance," Chu Feng’s mother told her son, not wanting him to be indebted to anyone.
"Don’t worry, Mom. You don’t have to be concerned about that," Chu Feng said.
"Alright, let’s get going. You can just drop your mother and me off at a hotel. We’ll get a room ourselves," Chu Yuntian said to Chu Feng.
Su Miaoke immediately spoke up at his words.
"Dad, Mom, now that you’re in Beihai, how could we let you stay in a hotel? Please, come stay with us. We have more than enough room," Su Miaoke said to Chu Feng’s parents.
"No, we couldn’t. That’s your home. It would be an imposition for us to stay there," Chu Feng’s mother said.
"Mom, Dad, don’t argue. Just get in the car," Chu Feng said.
At this point, Chu Feng had already come to terms with it. ’He and Su Miaoke are married. They’re family now, so what’s the point of fussing over these things?’
’What’s hers is his.’
’Whether he was living off her or not, it didn’t matter. As long as life was good, that’s all that mattered.’
’Who would complain about being a kept man? Some guys would kill for the opportunity and never get it.’
Soon, Chu Feng drove them back to the Bright Moon Mountain Villa.
"Bright Moon Mountain?" Chu Yuntian recognized the area.
"You know this place, Dad?" Su Miaoke asked, a little surprised.
"I do. More than twenty years ago, I used to take walks around here all the time. There weren’t any villas back then, just beautiful scenery. I can’t believe they’ve all been built up after two decades. The homes here must be expensive," Chu Yuntian said.
"The price was manageable. I bought it early. If I had waited a few more years, it would have cost tens of millions more," Su Miaoke explained.
Soon, the car came to a stop in the garage.
The villa had four floors in total—three above ground and one below. Aside from the first floor which had only one bedroom, the other floors each had two.
The basement level housed a media room, a bar, and a gym.
The first floor consisted of a large living room, a kitchen, and that one bedroom.
The villa was also equipped with an elevator, which made getting around very convenient.
"So this is a villa?" Chu Feng’s mother was dumbfounded by the sight.
She knew her daughter-in-law was wealthy, but she had never imagined this level of wealth—living in such a luxurious mansion.
"Dad, Mom, please pick whichever room you’d like. We have plenty to choose from," Su Miaoke said.
Chu Yuntian nodded. "This house is certainly impressive. Must have cost a fortune."
Even though he hadn’t been to Beihai in over twenty years, he knew that anyone who could afford a villa here had to have a net worth of at least a hundred million.
Chu Feng then brought his parents’ luggage into the first-floor bedroom. The two of them didn’t want to bother with the stairs, so they decided to stay there.
Later, the family gathered on the villa’s rooftop, drinking tea and enjoying the breeze.
From there, they could gaze out at the bustling cityscape of Beihai in the distance.
"Beihai has changed so much in the last twenty years. I can barely recognize it anymore," Chu Yuntian lamented.
"It’s true. Beihai looks different every year now, let alone after more than twenty," Chu Feng said.
"That bastard Hu Long... is he really dead, or is it just a rumor?" Chu Yuntian asked.
Chu Feng glanced at his father, wondering why he kept asking about it, but he nodded nonetheless. "He’s dead. Really dead. After all the evil he’s done, it would be an offense against heaven itself if he were still alive."
"What goes around, comes around," Chu Yuntian said. "Years ago, that bastard Hu Long was the one who broke my leg with a steel pipe."
Chu Feng’s expression darkened upon hearing this. He never would have guessed that Hu Long was the man who had injured his father.
"Dad, how did you get on his bad side?" Chu Feng asked.
Chu Yuntian merely let out a long, deep sigh.
