The young man struggled to his feet, his eyes filled with terror. He endured the excruciating pain and left the office.
As he was leaving, he said to Chu Feng, "Chu Feng, you never should have crossed the Tang Family. They won’t stop until you and your family are dead."
Hearing this, Chu Feng’s brows furrowed instantly. A bad feeling welled up in his heart.
"What did you say? What happened to my family?" Chu Feng grabbed the man and demanded angrily.
From the man’s words, Chu Feng sensed a grave threat.
When Chu Feng grabbed him, it aggravated the injury on his chest. The young man immediately grimaced, cold sweat beading on his forehead from the pain.
"Heh, so what if you kill me? Do you think Tang Mu will only come after you? Your family, the people around you... do you think he’ll let any of them go?" the young man sneered.
BANG!
Chu Feng hurled the man straight toward the doorway.
The entire office door was smashed to pieces.
The sudden spectacle left the onlookers terrified.
"What’s going on?"
"Ah—!"
Many people were shocked and cried out, not knowing what had just happened.
"Get out!" Chu Feng barked coldly.
The young man endured the excruciating pain, struggled to his feet, and stumbled outside.
Su Miaoke hurried to Chu Feng’s side and asked, "Should we have the Inspection Bureau arrest him?"
"Don’t worry about him for now. Quickly, call your parents and see if they’re okay. If they are, tell them to go home right away," Chu Feng said urgently.
After speaking, Chu Feng immediately dialed his father’s number.
The meaning behind that man’s words had been crystal clear: the Tang Family was going to make a move on his parents.
This was something Chu Feng absolutely could not tolerate.
The phone rang, but there was no answer for a long time. Chu Feng waited anxiously.
"Come on, pick up," Chu Feng said urgently.
Before long, the call connected.
"Son, what’s wrong?" Chu Yuntian’s voice came from the other end of the line.
"Dad, where are you?" Chu Feng asked urgently.
"Your mother and I are at the seaside. We were just about to take a boat out on the water," Chu Yuntian said, his voice full of happiness.
Chu Feng’s expression, however, was not nearly as cheerful. He said urgently to his father, "Dad, take Mom and go home right now."
"Go home? What’s wrong? Did something happen?" Chu Yuntian could hear the urgency in Chu Feng’s voice.
"Don’t worry about it for now. Just be careful on your way. If anything seems wrong, call me immediately. I’ll come get you," Chu Feng said.
After hanging up, Su Miaoke ended her call as well.
"My mom’s at home, and my dad is in a meeting at the company," Su Miaoke said.
"That’s good. You stay here at the company. I’ll pick you up after work. I’m going to get my parents first." With that, Chu Feng left.
Outside, many employees were peering into the office, wondering what had happened.
"Stop looking and get back to work," Su Miaoke told them.
Chu Feng went downstairs, got into Su Miaoke’s car, and sped away.
「Meanwhile.」
Chu Yuntian hung up the phone with Chu Feng and said to Chu Feng’s mother, "Come on, let’s head back."
"Head back? We’ve already paid. Why would we go back now? What’s wrong? Did something happen?" Chu Feng’s mother asked, confused.
"Don’t ask so many questions. When I say let’s go, we go. I’ll go ask the owner if we can get a refund," Chu Yuntian said grimly.
Although Chu Feng hadn’t told him anything specific, Chu Yuntian had been around the block in Beihai and knew how deep the waters ran there.
Plus, in previous conversations with Chu Feng, powerful groups like the Tang Family and the Zhao Family had been mentioned.
Therefore, Chu Yuntian suspected this had something to do with them, which was why he immediately tried to pull his wife away.
Although Chu Feng’s mother looked reluctant and unhappy, she didn’t say much and simply followed behind Chu Yuntian.
"Excuse me, boss. Uh, we’re not going out on the boat anymore. Could we please get a refund?" Chu Yuntian said after finding the boat’s owner.
"What? A refund?" A bald man with a potbelly and dark sunglasses glared at Chu Yuntian.
"Yes, something came up unexpectedly, and we have to go back. So we’ll have to trouble you for a refund," Chu Yuntian said with a nod.
"What do you think this place is? You think you can just get a refund whenever you want? No refunds. Take it or leave it!" the potbellied man said viciously.
The man’s words filled Chu Yuntian with rage.
"What’s that supposed to mean? Are you trying to scam us?" Chu Yuntian was infuriated.
"So what if I am? Didn’t you read the sign? It says ’No Refunds’! Take it or leave it. If you’re not going, then get lost! Don’t interfere with my business," the owner snarled at Chu Yuntian.
Chu Yuntian was furious. He had spent 10,000 to rent the boat and hadn’t even set foot on it, but now the man was refusing a refund.
"Is this how you do business? What kind of business is this? This is robbery!" Chu Feng’s mother couldn’t stand it anymore and cursed angrily.
For the elderly couple, 10,000 was a huge sum of money.
Even though Chu Feng and Su Miaoke had given them money, they couldn’t just let it go down the drain like this.
At this thought, Chu Yuntian was instantly unwilling to back down.
"Believe it or not, I can call the Inspection Bureau and have them come over," Chu Yuntian said calmly.
When the owner heard Chu Yuntian mention the Inspection Bureau, he laughed, and his eyes grew even colder.
"Old man, you should ask around and find out who owns this place. Even if you brought the chief of the Inspection Bureau here, he wouldn’t dare touch me! Now get the hell out, or I’ll kill you today!" The owner ripped off his shirt, instantly revealing a body covered in tattoos and a fleshy, thuggish face. It was clear at a glance that he was bad news.
Chu Yuntian clenched his fists in anger, wishing he could kill the man with a single punch.
Seeing the situation grow tense, with several large men in black approaching, Chu Feng’s mother immediately pulled on Chu Yuntian.
"Yuntian, let’s just go." Chu Feng’s mother didn’t want Chu Yuntian to get hurt. After all, they were outnumbered, and they would surely be the ones to suffer if a fight broke out.
Chu Yuntian gritted his teeth. Just then, his phone rang.
"Dad, where are you? Are you on your way back yet?" Chu Feng’s voice came through.
"Not yet. We’re still at the dock. There’s a small issue we’re dealing with. We’ll head back once it’s sorted out," Chu Yuntian said angrily.
"What’s going on? Dad, just wait for me. I’ll be there in five minutes," Chu Feng said urgently.
He hung up and immediately sped toward the seaside.
Seeing that Chu Yuntian still looked defiant, a muscle in the bald owner’s thuggish face twitched.
"You’re courting death!"
