The man in the suit then led Chu Feng and Su Miaoke to a corner and pushed open a section of the wall.
Behind the wall was a hidden passageway, which surprised them both.
If the man hadn’t pushed it open, Chu Feng and Su Miaoke never would have guessed that this ordinary-looking wall had a secret.
After they walked through, the wall automatically swung back into place. From the outside, it looked as if nothing had happened.
The man in the suit led the way, with Chu Feng and Su Miaoke following behind.
They descended what felt like four stories until they reached an underground space filled with a cacophony of shouts. The area was quite large.
A closer look revealed it to be an underground entertainment center—in other words, an underground casino.
There were people playing cards, betting on cockfights and dogfights, and even a boxing match.
The place was packed, and the air was thick with the reek of smoke and sweat.
"This way!" The man in the suit guided Chu Feng and Su Miaoke to the right and pushed open the door to a room.
When Chu Feng and Su Miaoke entered, they saw the room was filled with people. Su Jun and several other young men were tied up and thrown on the floor.
However, Chu Hao was nowhere to be seen, which made Chu Feng breathe a small sigh of relief. ’At least Chu Hao wasn’t dragged into this.’
On the sofa next to Su Jun sat a man decked out in designer clothes and wearing an expensive, chunky gold watch.
The man was holding a glass, leisurely sipping his drink.
"What’s going on here?" Chu Feng stepped forward and asked.
"Are you two this kid’s family?" the man asked languidly, nudging Su Jun’s arm with his foot.
He had the air of a gang boss, his tone condescending and superior.
"I’m his brother-in-law," Chu Feng said.
"His brother-in-law, huh? Alright. Your little brother-in-law lost two hundred million in our casino. Here’s the IOU." The man lit a cigar and gestured to a document on the table.
"What? Two hundred million? That’s impossible! Are you sure you haven’t made a mistake? How could my brother owe you so much?!" Su Miaoke couldn’t hold back when she heard this.
’There’s no way my brother could lose that much. This is obviously a setup.’
"Easy there, little lady," the man said with a sneer. "You’re the esteemed daughter of the Su Group. Two hundred million should be pocket change for you people, right?"
"Besides, don’t think the Su Group is all that. There are plenty of young masters here from families stronger than yours." He glanced at the other youths next to Su Jun.
"Sis! Brother-in-law! Help me! They said if I don’t pay, they’re going to dump me in Beihai!" Su Jun yelled to Chu Feng and Su Miaoke, his face etched with fear.
This made Chu Feng’s frown deepen. He asked, "How did you lose this money? How could you lose so much?"
Chu Feng still found it hard to believe that Su Jun owed two hundred million. Although Su Jun liked to have fun...
...he wasn’t a degenerate gambler. It was impossible for him to lose this much money. Even if he gambled, he’d lose a hundred thousand, maybe a few hundred thousand at most. A million would be pushing it.
"They... they ganged up on me, set me up! They cheated to scam me!" Su Jun said in terror after glancing at the man.
When Su Jun looked up, you could clearly see the red marks of a handprint on his face.
Clearly, Su Jun had been beaten. You could even see shoe prints on his clothes.
"Kid, you’d better watch your mouth. We run a legitimate business here. Go ask around about me, Yang Hu. Who on my turf would dare accuse me of setting people up and cheating?" Yang Hu stood up, shot Su Jun a look, and sneered.
His smile was so vicious it made people shudder.
The other young men didn’t dare to meet Yang Hu’s gaze. They huddled together, trembling in fear.
Obviously, these youths, like Su Jun, had all been scammed by Yang Hu. After all, they were all rich second-generation kids with money to burn.
Chu Feng remembered Su Jun offering to take him out for some fun that night. ’This must be the place he was talking about.’
He never thought Su Jun would have picked up a nasty habit like gambling.
"If you’re so reputable, why bother setting up traps for a bunch of kids?" Chu Feng said, looking at Yang Hu.
"What? You dare to gamble but not to lose? You want to walk away when you win but not pay up when you lose? Where’s the justice in that? I’ll give you two hours. Two hundred million! Not a single cent less. Otherwise, you can wait to collect this kid’s corpse!" Yang Hu declared arrogantly.
In his eyes, Chu Feng and Su Miaoke were nothing, just tools to cough up the money.
Just as his voice fell, there was a knock on the door.
One of his underlings opened the door to reveal a well-dressed, wealthy-looking woman.
The moment the woman entered and saw her son tied up and cast aside, she burst into tears.
"Son, what happened to you?" the woman sobbed, looking extremely worried.
"You must be Liu Qiang’s family, right? The kid owes our casino one hundred million. Did you bring the money?" Yang Hu said, pointing to the IOU on the table.
"What? Th-That’s impossible! This is extortion!" The woman’s face changed upon hearing the news, and she screamed.
"One hour. Money arrives, he walks. Otherwise, you can see each other in the next life," Yang Hu said coldly.
"How dare you! This is a crime! I’m going to report you to the Inspection Bureau!" the woman shouted furiously, pointing at Yang Hu.
"It’s useless even if you go to the Inspection Bureau. Your son’s signature and handprint on this IOU were given willingly. I even have it on video. If you don’t want to pay up, then get ready to collect your son’s corpse," Yang Hu said with a look of disdain.
"Let me tell you, get the hell out of here and scrape the money together! Piss me off, and I don’t mind taking out your entire family!" Yang Hu’s expression suddenly turned savage as he roared.
Before long, a few more parents arrived, all relatives of the other captive youths.
Upon hearing what Yang Hu had to say, some of the parents fainted on the spot.
"This is completely unreasonable! It’s the middle of the night, where do you expect us to get that much money? Nobody keeps that kind of cash at home," one of the younger parents said angrily.
"Good point. I’ll give you a little extension. Ten o’clock tomorrow morning. Have the cash ready for me. Not one cent less! If you’re short by even a penny, I’ll take one of their arms!" Yang Hu said with a cold laugh.
"Is there any other solution?" another parent asked.
"Another solution?" Yang Hu laughed.
