Climbing the ladder is a difficult business. Chen Yuan never thought the word "genius" had anything to do with him. He was just a bit more focused and earnest than the average person, which was how he’d managed to get into a good university and avoid being called a complete amateur by his colleagues after joining his company.

They had a trip planned for tomorrow. Before heading back across the hall, Chen Yuan reminded the sisters to pack what they needed. He helped clear the dishes, then went to his own apartment. After a short break, he took out his schoolwork and began.

The living room was still brightly lit.

"What are you looking at? Hellooo~" Yaoyao said. After slipping on her shoes, she waved a hand in front of the transfixed Chen Yuan.

"Not bad, not bad. Worth the forty-minute wait."

"That goes without saying! When you take me out, Young Master, all you have to do is enjoy the looks of envy from everyone else."

Beaming, she spun a full circle around Chen Yuan before tilting her head up to plant a quick kiss on his cheek.

Just then, Jiangg Ning emerged from her room.

Ningning saw this and let out a cold snort.

When Chen Yuan looked over, he froze.

He rarely saw Ningning dressed so sharp and sporty. Since they were going hiking, she wore a soft, pure-black windbreaker over slim-fitting pants. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail, showcasing the perfect curves of her figure—especially her flat, toned stomach.

With that cold expression on her face, she gave off the vibes of a dark, aloof beauty.

Her makeup was also minimal—she had only defined her eyebrows.

Snapping out of his stupor, Chen Yuan smiled. "Since you’re both ready, let’s head out. Time to go hiking!"

"Did you bring sunscreen and a sun hat?"

"Don’t worry, Sis, I put your hat in my bag for you." Jiangg Yao seemed to be in high spirits. She took a small tube of sunscreen from her purse, squeezed out a dab, and reached over to smear it on Chen Yuan’s face.

He felt a sudden cool sensation on his cheek.

Chen Yuan whipped his head around.

"What is this?"

"I’m putting some sunscreen on you, too, since you’re not wearing a hat," Jiangg Ning said, standing on her tiptoes to carefully rub it in.
