The thin weasel like Royal Chamberlain stood frozen behind the cracked magical barrier his pale face rapidly shifting through a volatile spectrum of pure shock and deep violent outrage.
He had heavily orchestrated this entire royal banquet intending to publicly execute the Silver Lioness and her loyal warden yet his meticulously crafted trap had been effortlessly shattered by a single brutal punch.
The surrounding highborn nobles began whispering frantically casting highly suspicious glares toward the vibrant green delegation of House Vane.
The rules of the exhibition strictly forbade utilizing outside mercenary forces especially highly lethal killers belonging to the hostile Eclipse Syndicate.
The Chamberlain had crossed a massive diplomatic line and he knew his political reputation was currently hanging by a very thin deeply frayed thread.
"You dare accuse a member of the imperial council of utilizing assassins you feral beast?" the Chamberlain shrieked loudly his voice cracking slightly under the intense suffocating pressure of Leon’s heavy Intimidation Aura.
The bureaucrat frantically raised his glowing golden wand pointing it directly at Leon’s bleeding heavily scarred chest.
"Guards!" the Chamberlain commanded his voice echoing desperately across the grand ballroom. "This magicless brute has clearly utilized highly illegal dark artifacts to cheat his way through a sacred duel.
Arrest him immediately and throw the Silver Lioness into the palace dungeons for treason against the crown!"
A dozen heavily armored Imperial Executioners standing near the grand staircase simultaneously drew their jagged halberds radiating dense waves of highly lethal gray aura.
They began marching slowly toward the sunken fighting pit heavily prepared to follow the Chamberlain’s orders and slaughter the heavily wounded servant.
Seraphina did not hesitate for a single fraction of a second.
She violently kicked her velvet chair backward and drew her heavy steel broadsword resting the gleaming metal blade firmly against her shoulder.
Her violet eyes blazed with pure violent fury projecting a dense suffocating wave of highly refined Tier Six crimson mana that aggressively pushed back against the encroaching guards.
"If a single one of your lapdogs steps into that pit Chamberlain," Seraphina hissed sharply her beautiful voice carrying a dark lethal promise that sent shivers down the spines of the nearby merchants.
"I will carve a bloody path straight through this ballroom and mount your thin head on the palace gates."
The threat forcefully halted the advancing executioners causing them to cast nervous doubtful glances toward their commanding officers.
They were highly trained killers but initiating a massive bloodbath against the eldest daughter of a Great Duchy inside the imperial palace was a guaranteed path to a highly brutal execution.
Before the tense political standoff could violently erupt into a full scale civil war a tall elegant figure suddenly stood up from the center of the House Vane delegation.
Isolde Vane the fierce emerald knight walked slowly toward the edge of the shattered arena resting one hand casually on the jeweled hilt of her glowing rapier.
She cast a disgusted glare toward the trembling Chamberlain before turning her bright green eyes down toward the bleeding unconscious Syndicate killer lying in the dirt.
"House Vane deeply values military strength and honorable combat," Isolde announced her clear highly authoritative voice easily cutting through the chaotic murmurs of the massive crowd.
"We issued a formal proxy challenge expecting a fair duel of skill. We did not authorize the use of a hidden Syndicate Grandmaster to fight our battles for us."
The Chamberlain gasped sharply his face turning a brilliant shade of purple as he realized his strongest political allies were rapidly abandoning his sinking ship to save their own honor.
Isolde turned her bright green eyes toward Leon intensely studying his broad muscular physique and his ragged bloody suit.
Her passive aura aggressively scanned his heavy frame realizing he had just fought a suicidal battle purely to protect the silver haired woman standing fiercely above him.
A deep highly confusing pang of unspoken jealousy violently flared in her chest quickly masked behind her strict military composure.
"The servant fought highly honorably and secured a flawless victory," Isolde declared firmly projecting her heavy magical presence to aggressively force the Chamberlain into a corner.
"House Vane formally concedes the duel. The Sterling family has rightfully earned their political requests."
The Royal Chamberlain slumped heavily against the wooden table deeply humiliated and highly defeated in front of the entire capital court.
He knew he could not argue against the primary challengers without risking a massive political scandal that would instantly reach the Emperor’s ears.
"Fine!" the Chamberlain spat viciously aggressively waving his golden wand to dispel the cracked magical barrier surrounding the arena.
"Your victory is formally recorded Lady Seraphina. You are granted an exclusive audience with his Imperial Majesty exactly five days from now."
Seraphina slowly lowered her steel broadsword maintaining her fierce unbroken mask of highborn superiority as she nodded sharply acknowledging the highly tense diplomatic victory.
Leon slowly walked up the white stone stairs leaving the shattered arena and the broken assassin behind him.
He stopped directly in front of Isolde Vane offering the beautiful emerald knight a slow, charming wicked smirk that deeply bypassed her strict emotional defenses.
"Thank you for the highly fair assessment Isolde," Leon murmured softly his deep resonant voice heavily vibrating against her neck. "I knew you were hiding a strong sense of justice beneath."
Isolde stiffened her pale cheeks rapidly burning with a fierce furious red flush as she tightly gripped the hilt of her rapier actively fighting the deeply confusing submission violently stirring in her chest.
She refused to offer a verbal reply simply turning on her heel and marching aggressively back to her velvet table.
Leon chuckled softly leaning heavily on his massive star iron greatsword as he finally walked back to Seraphina’s side.
The silver haired noblewoman did not wait for a formal escort smoothly wrapping her delicate arm around his uninjured waist actively supporting his heavy frame.
They walked proudly out of the silent terrified ballroom leaving the capital elites deeply highly traumatized in their wake.
