My Pretty Campus Queen
Chapter 1345 - 1344: Facing the Soul-locking Tower 2Chapter 1345: Chapter 1344: Facing the Soul-locking Tower 2
Thinking of this, Chen Tianlong let out a cold laugh, then waited for the opportunity to deal with the spider’s left leg first.
Chen Tianlong gripped the sharp edge of his sword, as the spider attacked once again. He felt the opportunity had come, and with a leap, he dashed to the spider’s foot and swung his sword vigorously.
Since the spider had concentrated all its strength on its attacking claws, its supporting legs were relatively weak, especially when facing the indestructible Dragon Slayer Sword.
Chen Tianlong exerted all his strength and slashed, with a swish sound, he immediately jumped aside, vigilantly eyeing the giant creature.
The next moment, the spider’s leg snapped with a crack, causing its body to tilt dramatically.
Chen Tianlong could see the spider’s painful expression; its severed leg trembled in agony, seemingly suffering unbearable pain. The spider was furious, its head turned crimson, and Chen Tianlong knew it was about to go berserk, remaining on high alert.
Suddenly, a thread shot out from under the spider’s abdomen, and Chen Tianlong immediately realized the spider was attempting to spin a web.
But it was too late, as the spider silk quickly ensnared him. Shortly after, another strand flew over, entangling Chen Tianlong like a tightly wrapped dumpling, unable to move.
Meanwhile, the spider was incapacitated, almost losing its life due to its injured leg, now enduring pain in misery. Chen Tianlong, immobilized on the ground, was very frustrated, his mind racing to find a solution.
However, the Spider Monster was impatient, attacking again before Chen Tianlong could come up with a plan.
Chen Tianlong knew things were bad, unable to move, wondering how he could fight. At that moment, the relentless spider claw reached for him, and he had to roll vigorously to evade.
The spider was surprised to see Chen Tianlong could still roll, and launched a series of attacks, forcing Chen Tianlong to keep rolling away.
After rolling a considerable distance, Chen Tianlong began to feel dizzy. He spotted a wall nearby, leaning against it, while the spider seemed smug again, sneering as if saying: "Keep rolling, let’s see how far you can roll."
Chen Tianlong felt helpless, temporarily unable to think of any solution.
The spider celebrated briefly, but was pulled back to reality by its pain. Enraged, it slammed its claw against the wall, akin to a nail.
Chen Tianlong could only desperately dodge, using the wall to propel himself aside, causing the spider’s claw to slam into the wall, dislodging lime powder that blanketed the ground with white dust.
The spider retreated in fear, heading back to its starting point.
Seeing this, Chen Tianlong recalled something—lime, lime water, the spider was terrified of it. He softly called out: "Mengting, come quickly!"
Wu Mengting was still scared, barely daring to open her eyes, but upon hearing Chen Tianlong’s voice, she finally did, moving over.
"Chen Tianlong, where’s the spider?" Wu Mengting asked, still fearful.
"Uh, it temporarily hid away. I figured out what it’s afraid of," Chen Tianlong said.
"Afraid of what?" Wu Mengting asked, puzzled.
"Lime water. We don’t have any water here, but the lime powder can scare it for now. So, help me cut these spider webs." Chen Tianlong explained.
"Okay."
Wu Mengting was about to cut with her sword when Chen Tianlong stopped her. He worried that if the spider returned, it would be troublesome, asking Wu Mengting to first knock more lime powder loose from the wall, then keep it nearby to throw if the spider approached.
After doing this, Wu Mengting hurriedly started cutting the spider webs, but they were too tough for her sword.
"Wu Mengting, I have an idea. Pick up my Dragon Slayer Sword and cut through them; it should work." Chen Tianlong knew the sword’s power.
"Huh?"
Wu Mengting was startled, because the large black spider was near the sword.
"Mengting, don’t be scared, it’s already intimidated and won’t attack you for now," Chen Tianlong thought a moment and added, "Take some lime powder with you, and if it moves, throw it on the spider."
"Uh, are you sure this will work, Chen Tianlong?" Wu Mengting asked, still anxious.
"Yes, trust me," Chen Tianlong assured.
"Okay." Buoyed by Chen Tianlong’s assurance, Wu Mengting gained courage.
She cautiously approached, getting closer. As the spider noticed movement, it quickly turned to look, startling Wu Mengting to a halt, but remembering Chen Tianlong’s words, she didn’t retreat.
Gritting her teeth, she continued onward with determination; she had to retrieve the sword, or both she and Chen Tianlong might perish here. Finally, overcoming her fear, she grabbed the sword. The spider reacted.
Not because she took the sword but because it intended to attack her, swiping with its claw, prompting Wu Mengting to run back.
"Mengting, don’t be afraid, throw the lime powder!" Chen Tianlong shouted as he saw the spider chasing her.
"Ah!"
Wu Mengting hesitated for a moment but then threw the lime powder back, enveloping the spider in a cloud of lime dust. The Spider Monster was instantly terrified, fleeing back hastily.
Indeed, lime powder was effective, Chen Tianlong thought, not harming it but terrifying it for a while.
Wu Mengting took the Dragon Slayer Sword and began cutting, and sure enough, it emitted a faint orange glow, the blade sparking in front of them.
"Dragon Slayer Sword, if you can recognize me as your master, grant me strength, slice through these accursed spider webs." Chen Tianlong tried to summon its power.
The next moment, the sword’s blade glowed intensely as Wu Mengting began slicing through the webs binding Chen Tianlong.
Wherever the blade touched, the webs automatically severed, and soon Chen Tianlong was freed.
Chen Tianlong stood up, twisted his neck, shook his legs, and grabbed the Dragon Slayer Sword. Then he crouched, picked up a handful of lime powder, and headed straight for the Spider Monster.
The spider was stunned, seeing Chen Tianlong freed from its webs, and quickly resumed its assault.
It spewed threads from its abdomen, but Chen Tianlong gave it no chance, swiftly dodging before slashing its right foreleg clean off.
The spider was now unable to balance, staggering around.
Catching the chance, Chen Tianlong tossed a handful of lime, causing the spider to shrink in fear. He then leaped into the air, diving down with a sword thrust straight into the spider’s head, landing deftly at a distance. The spider struggled momentarily before collapsing, its body turning to dust and reverting to the painting...
Wu Mengting, now relieved, ran over and hugged Chen Tianlong tightly.
"That giant spider scared me to death," Wu Mengting said, still pale with fear.
"Mengting, don’t be afraid. I’m here, I’ll protect you," Chen Tianlong assured, holding her tightly.
"Thank you, Chen Tianlong," Wu Mengting smiled again.
After about ten minutes, the two ascended to the Void Gate, leading to the fourth level.
Upon entering, they felt a dizzying shift, soon finding themselves in a bamboo forest. Both felt puzzled; the previous levels were tower rooms, but this one was an endless forest.
Where did the Void Gate transport them? Had they really left the Soul-locking Tower?
