Chapter 1369: Chapter 1368: The Mysterious Castle
At this point, Chen Tianlong didn’t linger. After saying goodbye to the Isle Master Gu, he decisively walked into the cave and stepped into the secret realm.
In an instant, the Illusion Gate transported Chen Tianlong to a mysterious place. What appeared before his eyes was a spacious stone cave of about fifty to sixty square meters, its four walls towering high. At the base of one wall were three oval-shaped small doors—three transparent vacuum gates in different colors.
Chen Tianlong looked for a while and recalled the Isle Master Gu saying he had to train in sequence, so it should be the one on the left. Just as he was about to go in, he suddenly heard a voice.
"Brat, you’re going the wrong way."
Chen Tianlong turned around and saw that it was Gu Yuxin. What surprised him even more was that behind her was Wu Mengting, dodging and hiding, not daring to look at him.
Chen Tianlong could tell Gu Yuxin must have sweet-talked her into coming, and now she felt embarrassed to see him.
"Why are you two here? Does the Isle Master Gu know?" Chen Tianlong asked in confusion.
"Nonsense, of course he doesn’t. If he knew, how would we have gotten here?" Gu Yuxin bluntly told the truth.
Chen Tianlong was speechless. This Gu Yuxin really was something; she dared to do anything. Fine, you want to come yourself, but why drag Wu Mengting along? he cursed inwardly.
"Chen Tianlong, I didn’t mean to. Little sister Yu Xin insisted I come, and I was worried about you too, so I followed," Wu Mengting said apologetically.
"Sigh, fine, it’s okay. Since you’re already here, then we’ll go together." At this point Chen Tianlong had no other choice. He couldn’t exactly kick the two of them out.
With that, the three of them started getting ready to enter the secret realm.
"Oh right, why did you say we should go in from the right just now?" Chen Tianlong looked at Gu Yuxin and asked, a bit puzzled, unsure if she was telling the truth. If she was just talking nonsense, then they were screwed.
"Uh, no particular reason. My dad went in from the right last time," Gu Yuxin said casually.
Black lines appeared all over Chen Tianlong’s face. So it was that simple. The three of them walked into the secret realm on the right together—this was a secret realm used to practice release speed.
Before long, the three of them entered a very mysterious place. It was a huge castle, with high city walls on all sides. Suddenly they saw a group of police chasing a little girl. Chen Tianlong was puzzled to see that the girl was holding an exquisitely crafted crystal rod in her hand.
"Chen Tianlong, who are these people? How can they be so heartless, not even sparing a little girl?" Kind-hearted as ever, Wu Mengting immediately started feeling sympathy when she saw this.
This time Gu Yuxin was the first who couldn’t stand it anymore. She sprang up, leaped forward in a stride, and in no time at all knocked the pursuing police to the ground, scattering them like leaves.
The policemen struggled up again, gripping their weapons, watching warily.
"Who are you people, daring to stop us from capturing this demoness?" The leader was afraid, but duty-bound, he still had to say it.
"Demoness? You’ve got to be kidding. She’s just a girl of ten or so—how does she look like a demoness? You people can’t even spare a little girl? Pathetic." Gu Yuxin shot them a disdainful glare as she spoke.
"Hmph, just you wait."
The leader knew they could never beat this bunch, so he ordered a retreat for now. But Chen Tianlong knew these guys wouldn’t let them go so easily.
"Little sister, are you okay?"
Wu Mengting asked sympathetically.
They’d originally thought the little girl would cry and complain, but instead she said, "Don’t worry, I’m fine. One day I’ll make them pay."
Hearing this, Chen Tianlong suddenly felt something was off. This girl really was a bit unusual. At such a young age she was saying things like that. Call it being strong, but this was too strong, right? Other little girls were still thinking about candy.
"Then little sister, where is your home? We’ll take you back," Wu Mengting continued asking.
"My home?"
The little girl thought for a moment, then suddenly said, "I can’t tell you where my home is, because I don’t know if you’re bad people."
Hearing that, Gu Yuxin immediately got interested, because she felt she’d met a kindred spirit—the same stubborn temper as hers.
"Little girl, tell big sis where your home is. We’re good people, we won’t hurt you," Gu Yuxin said, rare for her to speak so gently to someone.
"Hmph, just because you say you’re good people doesn’t make it true. I don’t believe you."
With that, she glared at Gu Yuxin, then turned and ran.
Gu Yuxin was furious, thinking: Damn it, your aunt here was kind enough to talk to you, and you don’t appreciate it?
"Heh heh."
Chen Tianlong couldn’t help but laugh at this point.
"Stinking Chen Tianlong, what are you laughing at, you’re not allowed to laugh." As she spoke, Gu Yuxin glared straight at Chen Tianlong with both eyes.
Chen Tianlong hugged his sword, chuckling as he walked forward.
"If you want to see what kind of person that little girl is, then hurry up and follow me?"
After tossing out that line, Chen Tianlong walked straight off. The two girls had no choice but to follow behind.
Before long, the three of them arrived at a bustling marketplace. There were actually a lot of women dressed just like the little girl—wearing flowing, cinched long skirts and holding crystal staves in their hands.
"Stay close, this way." A Swordsman with a Long Sword led a group of Samurai in neat formation, heading off to one side.
"Chen Tianlong, what are these people doing?" Wu Mengting asked curiously.
"Uh, judging from the setup, looks like they’re going to catch someone." Chen Tianlong was just guessing.
The three of them followed along; anyway, this time their goal was to train their casting speed, and if they tagged along with a bunch of Samurai maybe someone would know how?
After a short while, the three of them arrived beside an old castle. There were no guards here, only a large Mage statue standing in front of the gate.
"Everyone get ready, the Silk Demoness is inside. This mission is only allowed to succeed, not to fail." The leading Samurai shouted.
"Yes! Martial King."
The Samurai answered in unison.
With that, they charged into the castle. Inside it was spacious; aside from some murals and the pillars supporting the castle, there was nothing else.
The Samurai searched as they slowly went deeper. After about ten minutes, Chen Tianlong realized there was no movement at all inside. So the three of them quietly slipped in too, but to their surprise, after walking for quite a while they didn’t see a single shadow of a person.
As Chen Tianlong walked on, he suddenly noticed a bloodstain on a stone pillar. He went closer to examine it carefully; turns out it had just been left there, so Chen Tianlong guessed there must have been a fight here just now.
But in such a short time, being able to escape from so many people would already be impressive; for an entire squad to just vanish, that was way too powerful.
Suddenly there was a rumbling boom, and a door opened in the stone wall. Turned out Gu Yuxin had accidentally pressed a mechanism. Guess bringing them along wasn’t useless after all, Chen Tianlong thought smugly.
The three of them walked through the gate in unison, only to find it was actually an elevator. The door slowly closed, and then the elevator began to descend bit by bit.
Before long they reached a basement, which looked a bit wrecked.
Chen Tianlong watched the surroundings warily, but other than some tangled iron wire mesh, there were piles of black unknown substances on the floor, and several small wooden boxes neatly lined up against the wall.
Suddenly the little wooden boxes shook violently, and from inside stretched out two claws and a skull, baring its teeth and brandishing its claws as it walked toward the three of them.
"Ah! Chen Tianlong, this is so scary."
Wu Mengting was a bit timid; the moment she saw these gross things she couldn’t help crying out.
"Watch me." Gu Yuxin drew her sword and slashed down with one stroke, and the Box Monster was KO’d just like that. Then the other two were also taken out by Gu Yuxin.
"Haha, Mengting, you don’t need to be scared, I’m here, I’ll protect you." Gu Yuxin started acting all badass as she comforted her.
Chen Tianlong was speechless, thinking to himself: Damn pig-girl, so full of yourself, you just chopped a few little critters, what’s so amazing about that.
Just then, the pitch-black stuff they’d seen on the ground earlier suddenly started billowing black smoke, and a swarm of Blood Bats appeared.
Gu Yuxin swung her sword a few times, but found these bats were extremely nimble; she kept missing.
"Tsss...."
Carelessly, Gu Yuxin was bitten by a Blood Bat. The pain left her unable to speak.
The next moment, once the Blood Bats smelled blood, a huge swarm mobbed her, scaring Gu Yuxin so much she kept falling over. But before she could catch her breath, another wave rushed up. She hurriedly raised her arms in front of her, trying to keep her face from getting attacked.
Chen Tianlong finally made his move. He grabbed the Dragon Slayer Sword with one hand and swung hard; Sword Qi swept toward the Blood Bats in an instant, and in no time they all fell to the ground dead.
Chen Tianlong was feeling pleased, planning to tease Gu Yuxin who was lying on the floor, but in the next second he spotted another huge swarm of Blood Bats speeding in from a broken door.
"Mengting, quickly help Yuxin and head inside, I’ll hold them off for a bit." Chen Tianlong said, a little worried.
Wu Mengting nodded, immediately helping Yuxin toward a safe spot. The Blood Bats didn’t let up and kept chasing. Before long, the three of them arrived in front of a flashing iron door. Wu Mengting stepped up and pushed it, but it didn’t budge at all.
"Chen Tianlong, the door won’t open, what do we do?" Watching the Blood Bats flying over, Wu Mengting was getting anxious.
