Chapter 1371: Chapter 1370: Silk Demoness (Part 2)
As she spread her hair out in all directions, her hands came together, and she started chanting words that Chen Tianlong couldn’t understand. At that moment, Chen Tianlong was on high alert, unsure of what move she was about to use, a fear of the unknown creeping over him.
Suddenly, the witch disappeared with a "whoosh." Chen Tianlong was readying himself defensively, but he was frustrated when she vanished. Just as he was feeling frustrated, a figure appeared right in front of him.
"Damn, what kind of move is this? How can she be this fast?"
That was Chen Tianlong’s first reaction, but what made him even more devastated was being hit hard again, this time draining nearly all his strength, and he almost fainted upon landing.
"Chen Tianlong, are you okay?"
Wu Mengting rushed over, helping Chen Tianlong up, and asked with concern.
"Cough, cough, I’m fine."
Chen Tianlong forced himself to endure the intense pain and replied to Wu Mengting.
"Chen Tianlong, stop lying to me. You’re seriously hurt, don’t say you’re fine." Wu Mengting had already noticed.
As they were speaking, the witch’s hair swiftly attacked. Wu Mengting unhesitatingly spread her arms wide, standing protectively in front of Chen Tianlong, closing her eyes.
With several "clang, clang" sounds, the hair was blocked and quickly retracted.
"Xue’Er, what are you doing?" The witch was startled and called out urgently.
"Mother, please don’t harm them." It turned out to be the little girl they had helped on the road not long ago.
"Xue’Er, what are you saying? They barged into our palace, so they must die." The witch thought her daughter was showing them mercy.
"Mother, they saved me. They’re good people; all the bad ones outside have been killed by us." Xiaoxue’Er explained.
"Ah! Aren’t they together?"
The witch suddenly realized she might have misunderstood something.
"No, mother, they’re good people." The little girl also initially thought Chen Tianlong and the others were villains, but not seeing them barging in together, she realized Chen Tianlong and the others weren’t with those samurai.
"Yeah, you filthy witch, we kindly saved your daughter, and you turn around and want to kill us." Gu Yuxin, although a bit scared, was straightforward by nature.
Witch Yili glared at her but said nothing, just replied a bit sheepishly, "Who knows whether you’re good or bad? You didn’t tell me."
Chen Tianlong was speechless at this moment, thinking: Even if I had told you, you wouldn’t have believed it anyway, right?
The witch thought for a moment and asked, "Why did you come here for no apparent reason? Just to watch the fun?"
Chen Tianlong covered his chest as he stepped forward. Actually, he had almost fully recovered. After spitting the last mouthful of clotted blood, his meridians were pretty much clear. At this moment, the witch was also shocked; she never imagined that someone she had just beaten nearly to death could be bouncing around lively now—unbelievable!
"To be honest, we’re here to obtain the Speed Essence." Chen Tianlong stated truthfully.
"The Speed Essence? What do you want that for?" The witch, a bit surprised, because this was the most precious True Essence of her mage, how could she give it to him? She immediately became vigilant.
"Uh, I must have it." Chen Tianlong said firmly.
The witch immediately grabbed her daughter, Mo Xue, becoming more assertive again.
"In the end, you’re no different from them, all hoping for my death to seize my Speed Essence." The witch directly exposed the truth.
"Ah!"
Chen Tianlong was also surprised; so it requires the witch’s death to get the Speed Essence?
Wu Mengting and Gu Yuxin were also a bit shocked, because asking someone to sacrifice their life for this is utterly disgraceful.
Chen Tianlong shook his head, feeling it inappropriate at this moment. Although he usually joked around and spoke casually, he couldn’t impose when someone’s life was at stake.
So Chen Tianlong turned around, a bit downhearted, and said to the two girls beside him, "Let’s go back. We don’t need the Speed Essence."
"But..."
Wu Mengting felt a bit unwilling, because without obtaining the speed, Chen Tianlong wouldn’t be able to learn the Unity of Man and Sword.
But in the end, she reluctantly followed Chen Tianlong out. They had just taken a few steps when the iron gate was kicked open. Rushing in were a group of samurai, led by a tall, imposing army captain clad in iron armor.
"Witch, you killed so many of our brothers. If you don’t leave the Element of Release in a few days, you won’t be able to leave this door." The army commander shouted.
"Hmph, bunch of suicidal guys saying so much nonsense for what, die." The witch said, flinging her long hair. Several samurai drew their swords in unison; Chen Tianlong quickly pulled Wu Mengting and Gu Yuxin aside.
"Mengting, hide here for a while and don’t wander around," Chen Tianlong warned, fearing any unforeseen incident might happen later.
"Okay." Wu Mengting nodded understandingly.
"Hey, aren’t you worried about me? I came along with you too!" Gu Yuxin felt a pang of jealousy watching Chen Tianlong care so much for Wu Mengting.
"I mean you...."
Chen Tianlong was about to say something when a fight broke out on the other side, so he turned his head to stay on alert.
Witch Yili soared into the air, her hair suddenly extended in all directions, aiming at the charging Samurai. The warriors swung their swords to cut the hair, but the strands were incredibly tough, and soon the ground was filled with groans.
The military commander brandished the Great Guan Saber, slicing through the air. The witch quickly flipped backward and pulled out a crystal rod from her waist. A beam shot out at lightspeed, striking the commander’s battle armor.
The commander staggered back a few steps, then launched himself upwards, unleashing immense Divine Power with a downward slash. The witch struggled to block it, but eventually, the saber struck her shoulder, dyeing her light pink garments with blood.
At this moment, about twenty Samurai slowly encircled her, preparing for the next round of attacks.
"Haha, demoness, I told you that if you don’t hand over the Element of Release today, you won’t get out of this door," the military commander laughed arrogantly.
"Hmph, spare your words, take this!" Yili merged her hands and suddenly launched an attack, the crystal rod shot forward like an arrow from a bow.
With a "clang," it collided with the military commander’s armor and fell to the ground.
"Haha, thinking this thing could pierce my Thousand-Year Profound Iron Battle Armor is simply delusional," the commander laughed disdainfully, waved his hand, and about ten Samurai pulled out an iron chain from their waists.
Chen Tianlong immediately felt something was wrong, recalling the scene where his father died because of that iron chain. At that moment, dozens of chains were thrown over, Yili swiftly dodged while her hair extended in multiple directions to attack.
The commander seized this chance to swing his saber with all his might, heavily slashing the witch’s back, making it a bloody mess.
Suddenly, tens of iron chains criss-crossed, tightly entangling Yili. The remaining Samurai charged in, stabbing the witch all over.
"Mom."
Xiaoxue’Er sprinted forward with a crystal rod, attempting to break the chains, but after a few futile strikes, she turned toward the military commander.
"Haha, little girl, go play."
The commander casually waved his saber, knocking Xiaoxue’Er aside.
But she didn’t give up, quickly getting up to continue the attack, angering the commander, who shouted, "Want to die?" and slashed downwards.
"No! Xiaoxue."
The witch cried out painfully, watching the saber about to strike.
Suddenly, a sharp sword swiftly deflected the big saber, momentarily stunning the commander.
"Flying Shoes." Chen Tianlong maneuvered through the crowd with his sword, bringing down the Samurai with chains one by one, seizing Xiaoxue’Er in the process.
Now, with a surge of power, the witch broke all the chains. Wu Mengting and Gu Yuxin approached, and Chen Tianlong handed Xiaoxue’Er to them.
The enraged commander grabbed the Great Guan Saber and slashed over.
"Mengting, you and Yu Xin take Xiaoxue first, we’ll cover you," Chen Tianlong yelled to Wu Mengting’s group while quickly defending himself.
The witch was severely injured, near her limits, only holding herself together. Chen Tianlong supported her as they quickly escaped the building, but they were soon pursued.
"Where are you running?"
The commander leaped with his saber, followed by a dozen Samurai.
"Young man, you should escape, don’t worry about me, I won’t last long," Yili realized she wouldn’t survive.
"Don’t speak, save your strength, I won’t abandon you," Chen Tianlong resolved that he couldn’t leave a woman behind at such a moment.
"Thank you, young brother," Yili said gratefully.
The next moment, the Samurai surrounded them as the commander sprang up, swinging his saber down.
Chen Tianlong hurriedly wielded the Dragon Slayer Sword to defend, fighting over ten bouts but felt overwhelmed by the opponent’s immense strength.
Soon, Chen Tianlong was punched and fell back to Yili’s side.
