Tommy’s words replayed in Lucian’s mind over and over again.

Was keeping Dominion worth it?

It wasn’t the first time Lucian had thought about it, but hearing it from Tommy forced him to dwell on the question.

Why was he still keeping Dominion?

Why had he pushed for its full legalization in the first place?

It took Lucian a moment to remember.

It was because he knew he was going to die. And since he didn’t have much time left, all he could think about was what he would leave behind.

First, Primo.

He couldn’t leave Primo with all the problems he had yet to resolve.

Then, Ashley.

Lucian didn’t want to leave her dealing with the very things he had tried to take her away from.

But now that he wasn’t dying... now that his marriage was better than it used to be and Primo’s smile had returned, why was he still pushing forward with his original plan?

Right now, they lived in a neighborhood full of Dominion members. Despite the unusual setup, many of them had blended well into society. Some had even taken part-time jobs outside Dominion simply to kill time.

Lucian hadn’t thought much about it, but ever since they moved into this neighborhood, everyone had been living... a normal life.

Not every day, but most days.

Even he, Ashley, and Primo lived in a humble home. It was definitely smaller than the mansion they had left behind, but it was warm, loving, and peaceful.

It wasn’t big, but it was enough for the three of them.

The more Lucian thought about it, the more he realized there was no reason to push through with his original plan. Considering the fortune he had set aside, the three of them could live comfortably for the rest of their lives.

Perhaps knowing Tommy was willing to help made Lucian seriously consider the possibility.

Tommy had done it for Liza.

Surely, Lucian could do the same for his wife and son.

"It’s the madam!"

Lucian snapped out of his thoughts at the cheerful call. He blinked, glancing to his right, where Ashley and Primo stood.

When he looked ahead, he saw a vast field and the farmers straightening up one after another.

"Madam!" another person called. "It’s the madam!"

The farmers’ faces brightened at the sight of Ashley.

Ashley grinned back and waved both arms. "See, Primo?" She turned to the boy smugly. "Your mama is very popular."

Primo clapped, making Ashley rub the tip of her nose proudly.

[Amazing, Mama!]

As for Lucian, he let out a shallow breath.

I was zoning out again, huh?

He shifted his gaze toward the farmers, who were quickly leaving the field to greet them.

With the Madam Faction carrying everything they had bought along the way, they began setting everything up beneath a tree near the field. Liza helped them while Tommy looked for a good spot to rest.

Or rather, Julio found him one after the long flight.

It had been three weeks since Marshal had fallen.

Since then, Liza and Tommy had stayed in the neighborhood. They had initially planned to stay only until the event, but after losing so much time with their daughter, they decided to remain with her for as long as they could.

That, however, didn’t mean they tried to interfere with her life.

If anything, Liza and Tommy encouraged both Lucian and Ashley to return to their usual routine.

Since the older couple planned to stay longer, Lucian offered them a place to stay. They had been living with them ever since.

Life in Dominion had also eventually returned to its usual rhythm.

Ashley returned to the office. Thanks to Betty, she didn’t have a mountain of paperwork waiting for her. Lucian, on the other hand, returned to work with exactly that—a mountain of papers to go through.

Not to mention, he still had to deal with the High Chamber after everything that had happened.

Thankfully, Lucian didn’t have to clean up whatever remnants might have been left behind after the Di Carpios’ downfall.

All thanks to Tommy’s forces.

Now that things had settled down, Ashley decided it was time to visit her recruits.

And yes, these recruits were the people she had rescued from the base they destroyed—those who had no life to return to, didn’t know where to start, or simply had no family waiting for them.

She had sent them all here to start over.

"Huh..." Red remarked as he stared at Charm, who was happily munching on the feast Ashley had brought for everyone. "I didn’t know being a farmer suited you. I think you gained weight."

Gin nodded profusely. "Yeah. I almost didn’t recognize you."

Charm smiled, darting his eyes between the two. He was seated beneath another tree with several of his friends from the same base—the same people who had fought alongside Red and Gin.

Compared to how gaunt they had looked before, they were definitely... healthier.

They had gained muscle and weight, and even their complexions looked better. There was still dirt on their clothes and skin from working in the fields, but they no longer carried the scent of death and chemicals that had once clung to the air around that base.

"The food here is great," Charm remarked jokingly. "We eat three times a day now."

"Three?" another man nearly choked. "I think you eat five times a day, including snack time and tea time."

"If it weren’t for the work in the fields, he would’ve gained even more weight!" another added.

Charm laughed proudly.

Well, all of them had gained weight. That much was certain.

Even the children and elderly who had chosen to work for Ashley somehow looked younger.

"I’m glad you guys look like you’ve been doing well," Red said.

His words immediately silenced everyone.

For a second, all eyes landed on him.

They blinked, catching the small smile on his face. It was brief, but everyone saw it.

"Were you..." One of the men covered his mouth, eyes widening. "...worried about us?"

Another found himself getting teary-eyed. "I knew it. Even though you look like a heartless fox, you’re actually such a nice guy."

"This is why they say never judge a book by its cover."

One after another, everyone expressed their sentiments, moved by Red’s concern.

Red, on the other hand, looked at them with growing irritation. The corner of his mouth twitched as he cringed at the emotional grown men surrounding him.

"Don’t you dare hug me," he warned through gritted teeth. "I heard human bodies make good fertilizer."

Gin chuckled as the men immediately looked dejected, as though giving Red a group hug had definitely been their plan.

But then, Gin noticed something odd on the other side of the gathering.

"Huh?" His brows furrowed. "Why is everyone so gloomy over there?"

Everyone instinctively turned, only to see a group of gloomy men eating in complete silence.

When they followed the men’s gazes, they finally understood why.

"It’s probably because of him."

Charm jerked his chin in one direction, prompting Gin and Red to follow his gaze.

The second their eyes landed on Rum, who was casually eating while fighting Old Fool over some food, their mouths fell open.

"Ah..." Gin nodded in understanding. "...so they were his passengers to hell, huh?"
