Aurelius summoned the Player Panel and took a look at it.

Having experienced so much, he was seldom surprised anymore.

Yet even with his ability to maintain his composure, he couldn’t help but show a trace of shock upon staring at the displayed information.

His Base Stats... had skyrocketed unknowingly.

Intelligence had nearly doubled, as had his total Spirit.

Although the rest had received far smaller enhancements, they were still very noteworthy, each numbering in the dozens.

Aurelius keenly sensed that the strength of his physical body had undergone a further transformation. Had he battled against Edward in his current state, it would have been far easier to defeat him.

There was no single reason to explain all these changes. Several reasons were working in tandem.

The Stat Fruits he had consumed through the Dryad’s Scepter. The transformation of the Awakener’s Physique. The Knowledge Library that enhanced his Intelligence the more skills he obtained.

What played the greatest role, however, was the upgrade in Level.

Level 40!

The pinnacle of Rank 2!

Last time, he had only managed to raise his Level to 29 before exhausting all his accumulated Experience.

Now, though, he had not only reached Level 40, but even had tens of thousands of Experience to spare. He could still upgrade his Sub-Classes, perhaps bringing them both to Level 40.

The only one who suffered...

Aurelius lowered his head.

...was the Origin Mana Seed in his hands.

The Mana it had accumulated from its birth until now had been exhausted completely.

Aurelius didn’t feel any heartache, however.

He could sense that the Origin Mana Seed was constantly restoring the Mana it had consumed by absorbing the energy in its surroundings.

He didn’t need to do anything. As long as the seed existed, it would "breathe", absorbing the Mana permeating its surroundings.

’It deserves to be the second greatest opportunity in the forest,’ Aurelius sighed as he carefully put it away.

Since it needed to constantly absorb Mana, he didn’t place it in the System Inventory. However, he protected it well enough to prevent it from being discovered by any other person.

Then, he shifted his attention back toward the Player Panel.

More precisely, toward the notification log.

His increase in Level had not resulted in a simple Base Stat increase.

The more important change was that he had finally reached the apex of Rank 2.

This meant that, finally, he had satisfied one of the conditions for further advancement.

Of course, if he truly wanted to advance further, he had to meet one more requirement.

Just like his previous advancement, Aurelius was faced with three distinct options to choose from. He could select whichever he wanted among them.

Under normal circumstances, the variety of options should have been helpful. At least one of them should have been suitable for the Awakener to complete.

Unfortunately, when it came to the three options before him, Aurelius could only smile wryly.

These options... were too difficult!

Killing a Rank 5 Awakener was out of the question with his current strength, as was absorbing the corpse of a Demigod.

After all, where could he possibly find such a thing? Only the most powerful Churches could possibly possess something like that.

As for option three, it seemed the simplest on the surface.

Yet Aurelius knew it was not easy to perform in the slightest.

The more items consumed during Synthesis, the higher the Level of Synthesis would have to be in order to be cast at all.

More importantly, for the final Synthesis to be successful and for the resulting skill to be powerful enough, there ought to be some synergy between them.

Using ten useless and unrelated skills as materials was meaningless.

The Synthesis would certainly fail.

The only result would be losing these skills, decreasing his overall combat prowess and reducing his available methods.

Even so, compared to the other two options, it seemed far more likely that he could complete this one.

Surprisingly, Aurelius secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

At the very least, he had a goal.

Before reaching Level 40, he had been fearful that he would be required to slay a God if he wanted to advance or something similar.

Although finding ten related Skills and upgrading Synthesis to a level capable of synthesizing them seemed difficult, he at least had a direction to work toward.

Thinking of that, Aurelius stared at the Player Panel for several more seconds before finally dismissing it.

He glanced at Edward and estimated that it would take some time before this Thief woke up. Similarly, the aura of the monsters had yet to dissipate from the clearing.

He still had time to deal with the other matters at hand.

With that in mind, Aurelius reached out.

Immediately, a lotus materialized in his hand. Silver in color and resembling mercury, it looked beautiful and unique.

Despite its beauty, though, Aurelius showed no hesitation.

With a gentle flick of his fingers, the lotus flew into his mouth.

Upon entering it, the lotus transformed into streams of pure energy that coursed through his body.

As they seeped into his depths, something was slowly awakening within him.
