My Skills Can Evolve Infinitely in a Game-Like World
Chapter 57: Class Creator & Oracle"You’ve selected: "
"Skills: Weapon Infusion, Awakener’s Physique, Solar Manifestation."
"Talent: Divine Intervention."
"Do you wish to confirm your choice? Please know that the decision will be final."
As the crimson flames wrapped around the selected items, a prompt flashed in Aurelius’ vision, as though serving as a final reminder.
He paused only for a split second. Then, he pressed yes without the slightest hint of hesitation.
The confirmation prompt vanished.
The crimson flames surrounding the furnace rioted, more violent than ever. They wrapped around the selected skills and Talent, fusing them together.
The furnace trembled violently as golden light intertwined with crimson fire.
Until a few moments later...
Silence.
The flames suddenly dispersed. The furnace returned to normal.
The lights that had been inside of it were nowhere to be seen.
In their place now stood a round, flat-surfaced token, similar to the Class Creation Token.
More precisely, it looked exactly the same as the Mythical Class Token Aurelius had obtained in the past.
The furnace became increasingly illusory until it completely faded away.
Soon, the token was the only thing remaining in his vision.
When Aurelius focused on it, another round of notifications flooded his vision.
"Ding! Fusion successful."
"Created Class: Sun Knight (Rare)."
...
"You’ve obtained the Sub-Class: Class Creator."
"Ding! NPC Template has been activated!"
"Available Skill: Teaching. Talent: Trade."
The notifications could be divided into two categories. One regarding the Class that had been created, and one about the Sub-Class he had obtained as a result.
The first group of notifications held no surprises.
Whether it was the skills or the Talent, they were things Aurelius had personally selected.
He already knew their uses. There was really nothing else to see.
As for the second half...
Aurelius’ eyes narrowed.
In Nova Roma, every person could possess one Main Class and two Sub-Classes.
So far, he had kept the second spot of his Sub-Classes empty.
Not because he didn’t wish to obtain one, but because those he could access were relatively ordinary.
Knowing that once he made a decision, his future would be set, Aurelius had decided to take things slowly.
Now, this Sub-Class—granted by the Class Creation Token as a reward—might serve as an opportunity.
With that in mind, Aurelius pulled up its description.
...
[Class Creator (Exclusive): A Sub-Class exclusive to those who have created their own Class.]
...
It was short. No actual information was revealed, as though it had been written as a mere afterthought.
Aurelius was left speechless.
Was his "precious" Sub-Class that simple? Not even worth a real description?
But upon looking at the word "Exclusive" where its rank should have been, he quickly calmed himself down.
He had a hunch that this Sub-Class was far from as simple as it seemed.
With that in mind, he focused on the lone skill and Talent.
...
[Teaching Lv. 1: As a Class Creator, you possess the ability to teach other people the skills you possess. The cost to do so, the time required, and the effect of the inherited skills depend on the user’s proficiency with the skill.]
...
[Trade Lv. 1 (Talent) (NPC Edition): As an NPC and Class Creator, you can trade with Players, setting the conditions of a trade.]
[Available Currency: Experience.]
[Note: Upgrade the skill’s Level to unlock more Currencies.]
...
Aurelius’ eyes widened.
He realized the value of these abilities the instant he went through their descriptions.
These... were perfect. In fact, they were exactly what he had been looking for all this time.
What was the thing he would be forced to face soon?
Was it battles? Fights? Wars?
It was none of the above.
What he had to do was navigate a world with Players, using their existence to his advantage.
Both of these abilities could play exactly that role.
Especially the Trade Talent.
Seeing that he could trade using Experience filled Aurelius with ideas.
Of course, he first had to really obtain the Class.
Without any hesitation, he confirmed his decision.
"Requirements: Create your own Class. Passed!"
"Congratulations to the Player for taking up the Sub-Class—Class Creator."
"Gained Stats: INT +1, LUCK +1."
"Gained Skill: Teaching. Gained Talent: Trade (NPC Edition)."
Aurelius felt a cold wave rush toward his head, cooling down his tense mind.
Digesting the information and sensing his new abilities, Aurelius confirmed it.
The descriptions had been true! The abilities truly worked as described. Perhaps even better than he imagined.
Subconsciously, he couldn’t help but clench his fists, nearly losing his composure for the first time.
Glancing at the countdown, which had now dropped to just short of 7 hours, and then at the silver moon outside the window, he found himself growing impatient.
He really wished that the Players would arrive as soon as possible!
...
For some, the night was the same as every night before it.
One moment they fell to sleep, the next, the sun had risen, signaling the beginning of another day.
But for some people, this night was destined to be extraordinary.
This was not unique to Aurelius.
Dawn Kingdom. War Empire. Pirate Kingdom. Amazon Jungle.
Even the areas beyond these, where quasi-monsters like Medusas lived, were disturbed.
"The Sun has sent an oracle!"
"The Lord has performed a miracle!"
"The Ocean has spoken!"
In the Dawn Kingdom, the High Priest watched the sacred flame suddenly tremble, sending a message in the process.
In the War Empire, an ancient relic that had slept for centuries awakened, erupting with a murderous aura that engulfed the Imperial City.
Deep beneath the ocean, an enormous eye slowly opened, blinking countless times as though trying to convey something.
Shouts rang out. Panic and terror filled these voices.
Auras beyond imagination soared into the sky, their owners powerful enough to let the entire Nova Roma tremble.
That night, everyone was busy.
Powerful Awakeners who normally remained hidden revealed themselves one after another.
Relics that had remained unused for centuries were activated regardless of the cost in order to divine the future.
Everyone worked tirelessly.
All because they had received a common message:
Foreign souls would soon descend upon this world.
From this day onward, the history of Nova Roma would enter a brand-new Chapter.
