The sun rose once again in the Dawn Kingdom, signaling the start of another day.

For some, the night had been eventful and fruitful. Their strength and status had undergone massive changes.

Yet they happened to be the exceptions to the rule.

For most people, this night was just like the ones before it and the ones that would follow till the end of their lives.

Nothing strange happened.

But even those who had experienced an ordinary night were affected by yesterday’s events.

The first to notice this were none other than the mercenaries and adventurers in the kingdom’s northern border.

"What happened? How come the goblins have disappeared? Could it be that we’ve already killed them all?"

"Idiot! Could a bunch of low-Rank Awakeners possibly have cleared out an entire monster habitat? It must be because the natural disaster in the Goblin Mountains has subsided!"

"The goblins and other monsters must have returned to their habitat."

Near the entrance of the closest human settlement to the Goblin Mountains, several adventurers were conversing loudly.

Although it had only been a few hours since the first batch of adventurers returned, they had already reached a conclusion:

Whatever had driven the goblins out of their habitat had already disappeared.

These monsters were now beginning to return to their home.

Although everyone was caught off guard by the suddenness of this, not understanding how or why, they knew very well it was the truth.

There was nothing they could do to change it. At most, they could gossip with their companions, providing some outlandish excuses.

What none of these adventurers noticed was that a handsome young man’s ears perked up as he moved right past them.

A trace of surprise flashed across his azure eyes, though it was quickly concealed.

’Have these people already learned the news?’ Aurelius wondered while maintaining a stern expression.

He recalled the conversation he had just overheard and let out a sigh.

’Sure enough, no person who has survived in such a harsh environment is truly stupid.’

’With just a few clues, they have already managed to piece together what happened.’

These two adventurers were not the only ones who had guessed the truth.

Aurelius could see that most people in the human camp were the same.

What caught his attention, however, was the clear disappointment written all over their faces.

Faced with the retreat of the goblins, these people were far from happy. If anything, they were filled with sadness.

Some of them took out flasks of wine and gulped them down, as though wanting to drink their sorrow away.

The reason was simple.

Their greatest source of wealth—the goblins— had disappeared!

Some among them had traveled across the entire Dawn Kingdom, spending their entire fortune in order to get here, all in the hopes of striking it rich!

Yet now their prey had escaped!

How could they possibly accept this?

Aurelius shook his head when he saw the despair on their faces.

For ordinary people, the monster riot had been a disaster.

But to Awakeners and mercenaries, it had been a great feast. They only despaired when the feast was over.

’These people are lucky not to have known of the Goblin Warlock’s existence. If they had, they would have never been as carefree,’ Aurelius chuckled at the absurdity of that thought.

Aurelius’ footsteps did not slow down as he headed straight toward the inn where he was staying.

Everything proceeded smoothly at first.

But just as Aurelius turned through an alleyway and appeared at the edge of the block, a chorus of voices suddenly reached his ears.

"Waiter! Is Lord Aurelius here? I have something important to tell him!"

"Staff! Please summon our boss! Don’t worry! You shall be rewarded handsomely! The boss is mighty!"

"Boss! Where are you? Could it be that you have given up on your subordinates?"

Pleas. Cheers. Sorrowful cries.

Several voices overlapped, creating a cacophony of discord.

Aurelius was surprised just based on hearing this noise.

When he approached the source of the noise, his shock only deepened.

He recognized the people shouting and crying.

The familiar interfaces above their heads immediately betrayed their identity.

Players!

The people standing in front of his inn and shouting to see the "boss" were all Players!

Aurelius even noticed many familiar names among them.

[World_Builder], [TheoryMaster69], [FamousIdol].

Even a person he had only seen in the forums appeared.

[ListRanker]—the person who had placed Aurelius first in their list of the strongest NPCs.

All these familiar names had now gathered here.

Their goal was clear.

They all wished to meet Aurelius and get close to him!

Aurelius truly couldn’t understand how his "address" had been leaked.

After considering the Players’ strange methods, however, he decided against investigating any further.

Glancing at the Players, and then at the flustered expressions of the inn’s staff, he hesitated.

He truly wished to interact with them and... scam them.

At the same time, however, he had yet to take stock of the previous night’s harvest.

Many of the rewards remained unclaimed in the Player Panel, while even his new skill required further study.

These were troublesome enough, but things did not end there.

Before returning to the city and parting ways, Aurelius and Selene had further investigated the Goblin Mountains.

Tracking the Goblin Warlock back to his nest, they had managed to gather a variety of his items belonging to this Rank 3 monster, all of which required Aurelius’ examination.

In simple terms, Aurelius was extremely busy.

Under ordinary circumstances, he would have directly run away and gone to deal with these things.

But considering his relationship with the Players, Aurelius was now apprehensive.

Should he secretly slip away and deal with the matters at hand?

Or deal with the Players first and hope that they didn’t drag him into further trouble?

Those were his two options.

Yet just as Aurelius was wondering which one to choose, fate seemed to have sensed his dilemma and made a decision for him.

Aurelius was currently wearing a disguise.

It was far from perfect, but more than enough to prevent strangers from recognizing him.

However, something unexpected happened.

Among the crowd of overly enthusiastic Players, a short woman seemed to sense something.

Turning her head, she stared toward Aurelius.

At first, she noticed nothing unusual.

But when she took a second look and met his eyes, a trace of excitement flashed across her face.

The woman did her best to keep the other Players from noticing.

After grabbing one of her companions and claiming that she needed to use the restroom, she hurriedly slipped away without anyone noticing.

A few moments later, she appeared in front of Aurelius.

"Mr. Aurelius! You’re here!"

"I haven’t seen you in quite a while." A familiar voice came out of her mouth.
