My Slime Wife: Training and Pampering Her Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 63: Split SlimeThe acid had disappeared.
Liam could barely believe what he was seeing.
Where there had once been an enormous sea of corrosive liquid, there were now only a few drops falling from the creature’s stomach walls.
Lydia had consumed it all.
Liam managed to climb onto a huge piece of bark lying among the remains of the trunk and took a deep breath. His stomach was still churning, but at least he could breathe without feeling like he was about to pass out.
His wife released her body once again.
The gelatinous mass separated from Liam and slowly returned to her human form.
Lydia appeared in front of him wearing her white dress, although her body began emitting an intense glow.
Liam smiled.
The glow grew even brighter.
[Your Slime has reached Level 50.]
[Evolution conditions fulfilled.]
[Your Slime is evolving...]
Lydia stood completely still.
Her body began to be surrounded by tiny particles of light.
Liam reached out and gently stroked her head.
"Don’t worry, honey."
Lydia looked at him.
"We’re going to get out of this."
Liam smiled.
"And you did great."
Lydia’s expression relaxed.
But then...
CRACK!
A huge branch fell from above.
Liam looked up.
"Watch out!"
He immediately grabbed his new weapon.
He raised it and switched the firing mode.
"Three-round burst."
He aimed upward.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The explosive bullets struck the branch.
An explosion shattered it into several pieces.
The debris flew past them without hitting either of them.
Liam fired again.
BANG! BANG!
Another branch exploded.
"I’m not going to let anything crush you while you’re evolving!"
Lydia smiled.
The glow surrounding her body intensified.
But the explosions triggered an unexpected reaction.
The inside of the creature began shaking violently.
"What the hell?!"
The boss’s body convulsed.
More pieces of the tree began breaking loose from the walls.
Liam raised his weapon again.
"Come on!"
He fired.
The bullets exploded one after another.
Smoke began filling the interior.
For a moment, Liam couldn’t see anything at all.
Then he heard a sound.
CRACK!
A huge branch emerged through the smoke.
"Shit!"
Liam raised his weapon, but it was too late.
The branch was falling directly toward him, and it was already too close for him to shoot it.
However...
Something small and green shot out from behind him.
PLOP!
A tiny slime landed on the branch and completely covered it.
Within seconds, the branch disappeared.
Liam froze.
"What...?"
He looked to the side and noticed that Lydia was, in fact, still standing in front of him.
"Lydia?"
The woman looked just as surprised as he was.
Then several windows appeared before their eyes.
[Your Slime has Evolved.]
[Lydia Davis — Split Slime Level 50.]
Liam’s eyes widened.
"Split Slime?"
Another window appeared.
[Your Slime has consumed Giant Tree.]
[Your Slime has learned "Healing Growth."]
The small slime that had consumed the branch began to move.
It slid across the bark and jumped directly toward Lydia.
The small green body merged with her.
Lydia blinked.
A message appeared before Liam.
[Lydia: Are you okay, honey?]
Liam smiled.
"Better than ever."
[Lydia: I don’t know how I did that.]
[Lydia: It was instinct.]
Liam looked at the little slime that had just disappeared inside his wife.
"I think you just discovered your new ability."
Lydia tilted her head.
"Splitting myself?"
"Exactly."
Liam smiled.
"And I have an idea."
Lydia raised an eyebrow.
"What kind of idea?"
Liam looked around.
The enormous trunk had finally been completely destroyed.
There were no longer any branches they could use as shelter.
There were only the two of them...
And the boss’s flesh-covered walls.
Liam swallowed.
"First, we need to get out of here."
Lydia nodded.
"How?"
Liam looked at her.
"How many times can you split?"
Lydia blinked.
"I have no idea."
"Good."
Liam paused.
"And do your abilities work with your copies?"
"I have no idea."
Liam smiled.
"Then we’ll have to try."
◇◆◇
A few minutes later...
Liam was standing on a huge piece of bark.
Surrounding him were six identical women.
Six Lydias.
They were all wearing the same white dress.
They all had the same expression.
They had all raised one hand, their fingers positioned like little guns.
Liam stared at them with his eyes wide open.
"I can’t believe it..."
There were six Lydias. It was like a dream come true.
His wife could literally clone herself.
"This is incredible."
All six smiled at the same time.
And then they spoke together.
"Whenever you’re ready, honey."
A shiver ran down Liam’s spine.
The scene was so absurd that it almost felt like he was dreaming.
Six Lydias, inside the stomach of a gigantic monster, about to fire six lasers at the same time.
Liam slowly raised one hand.
"All right."
He looked toward the flesh-covered walls surrounding them.
The boss was still moving.
Every convulsion made the entire space tremble.
"Let’s find out how powerful this evolution really is."
Liam lowered his hand.
"Now."
All six Lydias fired.
[Laser Shot]
Six red beams of light shot out simultaneously.
One struck the left wall.
Another pierced the ceiling.
Two struck directly ahead.
The other two headed toward the sides.
BOOOOM!
The creature’s interior lit up completely.
The beams tore through the flesh.
The boss convulsed.
A gigantic roar echoed throughout its entire body.
Liam felt the bark beneath his feet nearly split apart.
"It worked!"
The six Lydias began firing again.
ZZZRAAAK!
ZZZRAAAK!
The beams tore through the internal walls again and again.
But then...
Liam noticed something.
The holes left by the lasers began closing.
The boss’s flesh was regenerating.
Liam frowned.
"Regeneration..."
One of the Lydias looked at him.
"What is it?"
Liam stared at the walls.
"We can’t just keep shooting and hope for the best."
The boss convulsed again, and a roar thundered above them.
Liam slowly smiled.
"We need more firepower."
Liam took his pistol, loaded with bullets made from the gems of the F-Rank dungeon.
He aimed at one of the monster’s inner walls.
"Sweetheart, on my signal, just like at the shooting range."
The six Lydias nodded.
The monster’s interior shook violently, and Liam struggled to keep his balance.
One shot, and they would be out.
"Are you ready?"
