Liam stood in front of the kitchen, stirring some eggs as the aroma of breakfast began to fill the small apartment.

It was a fairly peaceful morning.

Too peaceful, considering that in a few hours he would have to head out with his group to complete several low rank Dungeon raids.

Behind him, Lydia was busy with something much more important.

Cleaning.

Or rather, making her copies clean for her.

A small mass of green slime moved around the bathroom, wiping the mirror with one of its tentacles. Another copy had entered the bedroom and was making the bed, while a third was cleaning the dining table.

Liam glanced over his shoulder at the scene.

’She’s definitely taking too much advantage of that ability.’

His cellphone vibrated on the table.

Liam set the spatula aside and picked up the phone.

The hunter group chat was quite active.

[Harper: I just got my new ID! I’m finally a Gold rank hunter.]

[Lucas: Congratulations!]

[Eve: Well done, Harper! See you at the agreed meeting point.]

Liam smiled.

[Harper: Thanks.]

[Liam: Congratulations, Harper. Lydia and I are heading to the meeting point too. See you in an hour.]

After sending the message, Liam locked his phone.

The screen briefly displayed the reminder he had set.

[Squad Selection: 3 days to go.]

Liam stared at it.

It had been a month since he had officially become a hunter.

It seemed unbelievable.

So many things had happened during that time that it was hard to believe only a month had passed.

They had entered several F-, E-, D-, and even C-rank Dungeons.

Lydia had consumed all kinds of creatures, plants, and strange materials, eventually reaching Level 59.

She no longer leveled up as quickly as she had at first, but that didn’t seem to bother her much.

She had learned to use her abilities with much greater precision.

Her ability to split, shapeshift, harden herself, and use her different powers had become much more natural.

And soon she would reach Level 60.

A new evolution, just before the selection.

Liam smiled.

’I’m sure she’s excited.’

He had also noticed something strange over the past few weeks.

Pix seemed much more stable.

She no longer lost her glasses constantly.

And, most importantly, she seemed to have significantly cut back on her mushroom wine consumption.

Although Liam still wasn’t sure how long that would last.

His cellphone vibrated again.

Liam put it in his pocket.

"Well, I think it’s ready."

He looked toward the hallway.

"Lydia, breakfast is ready."

One of the small slimes immediately appeared from the bedroom.

Then another came out of the bathroom.

And finally, a third appeared from the dining room.

The three of them slid toward the kitchen.

But before they could join the original Lydia, a fourth small gelatinous mass appeared and took the form of his wife.

Liam raised an eyebrow.

"Four?"

Lydia smiled.

"This one hasn’t finished cleaning yet."

The small slime quickly moved back toward the bedroom.

Liam let out a small laugh.

"You know you don’t have to work so hard, right?"

Lydia shrugged.

"Now that I can split myself, I can get everything done much faster. I don’t want to waste time cleaning when we could be doing other things."

"Your abilities are useful, but you can rest every once in a while too."

Lydia walked over to the table.

"Are you saying I should let my husband do the housework?"

"Exactly."

"How considerate."

Liam smiled.

"If you want, I can clean the apartment."

Lydia stared at him for a few seconds.

"No."

"Why?"

"Because you’ll probably end up breaking something."

"That’s offensive."

Lydia burst out laughing.

◇◆◇

Eventually, Lydia sat down across from her husband.

Liam placed the plate in front of her.

Toast, scrambled eggs, a cup of coffee with milk, and a small container of jam.

Lydia’s eyes lit up.

"Best husband in the world."

Liam smiled.

"That hungry?"

"Very."

She picked up one of the pieces of toast and spread some jam on it.

Liam leaned over and kissed her forehead.

"Eat up."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Liam returned to the kitchen and began preparing more eggs.

Then he looked up.

"Pix."

There was no response.

Liam waited a few seconds.

"Pix."

Finally, a message appeared before his eyes.

[Pix: Yes?]

"Want to have breakfast with us?"

The response appeared immediately.

[Pix: I’d love to, but I’m on the clock.]

Liam let out a laugh.

"You’re always on the clock. Nothing bad is going to happen if you have breakfast."

[Pix: Technically, I should be working.]

"Pix."

[Pix: ...]

"It’s just breakfast."

Then, a small amount of sparkling particles appeared in the middle of the dining room.

A floral aroma filled the air.

Pix appeared floating in front of them.

This time, she had her glasses tied around her head, making sure they couldn’t fall off.

The little pixie looked around.

"What did you make?"

Lydia raised a hand.

"Good morning, Pix."

"Good morning, Lydia."

Pix slowly descended until she was level with the table.

"Was she difficult to convince?"

Liam pointed at Pix.

"A little."

At that moment, the little pixie’s stomach made a rather loud noise.

Pix froze completely.

Lydia started laughing.

Pix turned red.

"That didn’t happen."

"We all heard it."

"No."

Liam smiled and placed another plate on the table.

"Try this."

Pix looked at the eggs and toast.

"I don’t know if I’ve ever eaten something like this."

"Then it’s a good opportunity to try."

Pix picked up a small piece of toast.

She tried it with the egg.

Her eyes widened slightly.

"It’s good."

"I’m glad."

Then Pix looked at the cup Liam had placed beside the plate.

"Does that have alcohol?"

Liam almost laughed.

"No."

"Are you sure?"

"Completely."

Pix looked at the drink suspiciously.

"I’ve been detoxing for several days."

Lydia tilted her head.

"Detoxing?"

Pix nodded seriously.

"From mushroom wine."

Liam laughed.

"This doesn’t even have caffeine. It’s decaf."

Pix picked up the cup and took a sip.

Her expression immediately changed.

"Bitter!"

Lydia started laughing.

"You can add sugar."

"Really?"

"Of course."

Pix quickly nodded.

"Please."

Liam handed her a sugar cube.

Pix dropped it into the cup and stirred.

Then she took another sip.

"Much better."

Liam smiled.

"I’m glad you like it."

Pix continued eating for a few seconds.

Then she looked up.

"So what adventure are you going on today?"

Lydia answered.

"We’re going on a few raids with our group."

"Nothing too complicated."

Pix smiled.

"Looks like you’ve made some great friends during this time."

"Yeah."

Liam nodded.

"I guess we have."

Pix went back to eating.

"I’m glad."

There was a brief silence before Pix spoke again.

"Or maybe you’re going to keep experimenting in bed with Lydia’s body."

Liam choked on his coffee.

"What?!"

Lydia burst out laughing.

"So you can see us when we’re together in bed."

Pix shrugged.

"It’s part of my job."

Liam stared at the little pixie.

’This little one is an interdimensional voyeur.’

’I don’t have any privacy anymore.’

Lydia seemed to be enjoying the situation far too much.

"Well, at least we know Pix is working."

Pix raised her cup.

"Exactly."

◇◆◇

The three small copies of Lydia finally finished cleaning.

They slid across the floor until they reached the Lydia who was having breakfast.

One by one, the small gelatinous masses jumped onto her body.

The first disappeared inside her.

Then the second.

And finally, the third.

Lydia’s body absorbed the small masses without difficulty.

Liam watched the scene.

"That definitely makes chores a lot easier."

Lydia smiled.

"See?"

"Yeah, but I still think you should rest."

"I’ll think about it."

"That means you won’t."

"Probably."

Liam sighed.

"I knew it."

After finishing breakfast, Liam stood up and began getting ready.

He put on his hunter gear.

He checked his weapons.

He checked his magazines and cartridges.

Finally, he picked up his bag.

Lydia got ready as well.

This time, they weren’t carrying too many things.

After all, much of their equipment could be stored inside her own body.

Pix finished her breakfast and stood up from the table.

"Well, I should get back to work."

Liam looked at her.

"Don’t you want to rest for a while?"

"I already rested."

"Does that count as resting?"

"I ate."

Lydia smiled.

"I think it does for Pix."

Pix began to glow.

"See you later."

"See you, Pix."

The little pixie disappeared in a shower of tiny glowing particles.

Liam took Lydia’s hand.

The two of them headed toward the door.

Before leaving, Liam looked at the reminder on his phone once again.

[Squad Selection: 3 days to go.]

He smiled.

After everything they had experienced during that month, it seemed they were finally about to discover what their next step as hunters would be.

Lydia squeezed his hand.

"Ready?"

Liam looked at her.

"More than ever."

The two of them left the apartment.

And the apartment door closed behind them.
