Nova had not realized Nyxara possessed such a sensitive side. Hearing Velena’s words only made him feel worse.
{ For humans, a thousand years is an extremely long time, } Liya said. { But for demons, that length of time is not so significant. She is still not fully mature yet. Velena is right — focus on other things for now...you did what you had to. }
Nova understood what Liya meant, and her words were true. Still, that did not mean Nyxara was immature or unable to understand these feelings — she was simply more sensitive when it came to matters of the heart.
For now, he could only sigh and focus on what lay ahead. He would simply go with the flow from this point on.
Using his connection with the Deadborns through the Slaughter Monarch’s ability, Nova quickly located where his family currently was — or more precisely, Duke Frost’s mansion.
Through his Monarch’s Eyes, he could see that everyone was gathered there together.
He turned to Velena, who was still standing beside him in her maid attire, and said, "I’ll take you to meet my real family now. Follow me."
Velena simply nodded and followed after him.
They were currently at the outskirts of the city, while the mansion was located closer to the center. Even though Vaunis was a large capital, the distance meant nothing to either of them.
....
At the Frost Mansion...
Inside the spacious living hall, soft and luxurious sofas were arranged neatly. Everyone had gathered there.
Rieka and Asia sat together with Jenna on a long sofa. Jenna’s expression was clearly gloomy — she had been worried sick about her son.
Although both of Nova’s wives kept calm expressions on their faces, they were quietly trying to console their mother-in-law.
Edward sat on a single sofa, seemingly chatting with Theodore, who was seated on the long sofa opposite him. Rodrick stood behind Edward with his usual calm expression.
Theodore spoke up.
"My daughter... you told us Nova would arrive either yesterday or this morning. It’s already morning now. Why is there still no sign of him?"
Asia looked at her father and answered calmly,
"Father, he told us yesterday that he would be here. It’s still early morning, so let’s wait a little longer. I believe him... he has a powerful backer with him."
Rieka nodded in agreement. She was certain their husband would return, since he had promised them.
Edward shook his head and spoke with a sigh.
"It’s good if he comes back soon. He has made us worry far too much during this time."
His eyes drifted toward his wife. Jenna’s expression still had not changed. She would only feel truly relieved when she saw her son’s face with her own eyes.
Until now, Rieka and Asia had only given incomplete answers about Nova’s current condition and whereabouts.
They believed it would be better if he explained everything himself after returning. Because of that, Theodore and Nova’s parents still knew very little about what he had actually gone through.
Whenever they pressed Rieka and Asia for more details, the two women simply replied that they themselves did not know much — only that Nova had contacted them twice to confirm he was alive and would return soon.
Suddenly, a familiar voice came from the direction of the main gate.
"Sorry for making all of you worry so much."
Everyone’s heads turned toward the entrance at once. They all recognized that voice instantly.
Everyone stood up the moment they saw him. Their eyes widened in shock — even Rieka and Asia could not hide their surprise.
And for good reason.
Nova had always been exceptional — tall, with a lean yet muscular frame and a handsome face. But now he looked even more refined. Everything about him still felt familiar, yet he appeared far more mature and charming.
The faint boyish air he once carried had completely disappeared. Standing before them was a fully grown, striking man.
What shocked them even more was his aura. He had clearly broken through to the King Realm, and the presence he released was powerful — stronger than many mid-level warriors.
Seeing their stunned expressions, Nova chuckled lightly.
"It’s really me, everyone."
He stepped closer. Jenna was the first to fully accept it. A mother would never fail to recognize her own son. She quickly moved forward and pulled him into a tight hug as tears began streaming down her face.
"M-My son..."
Nova’s heart softened. He truly felt guilty for making his gentle-hearted mother worry so much. He returned the hug and gently patted her back.
With that, everyone else finally accepted that it was truly him. Tears also welled up in Rieka and Asia’s eyes.
They knew the kind of hardships their husband must have endured, and now he had returned safe, sound, and several times stronger than before.
Although Edward, Theodore, and Rodrick were still shocked, they gradually calmed down, understanding that Nova would explain everything in time.
Jenna eventually pulled back. Nova looked down at her — he had to lower his head quite a bit, since she was only around 170 cm tall — and said softly,
"It’s alright, Mom. I’m back now."
Jenna nodded and stepped aside. Edward then came forward and embraced his son. Nova was now taller than his father; he stood at 195 cm while Edward was 190 cm.
Although height no longer truly mattered to him after his second evolution, as he could freely adjust it if he wished.
After Edward pulled back, Rieka and Asia stepped forward and wrapped their arms around him in a loving embrace. Nova gently kissed the tops of both their heads.
Theodore watched the scene with a quiet smile. Seeing how deeply Nova cared for his daughter filled him with satisfaction. He felt he had made the right decision in entrusting her to such a man.
Nova then turned to Theodore and greeted him respectfully, as one should when addressing a Duke.
Once the warm reunion settled, Nova spoke up.
"Alright. I know all of you have a lot of questions, and I will answer every single one of them."
He paused for a moment before continuing,
"But before that... we have a very important guest. Let’s welcome her."
Everyone raised their eyebrows at Nova’s words and turned in the direction he indicated. At first, they saw no one standing there.
Then, without any warning, a figure suddenly appeared.
Their eyes widened even further — this time not only in shock, but also with a trace of instinctive fear.
Velena stood there in her maid attire. Even dressed as a maid, her figure was breathtaking, fully befitting her half-succubus heritage.
The fact that such a beauty was wearing a maid outfit only made the scene more surprising.
Although her face was covered by a veil, the overwhelming sense of beauty she radiated was impossible to ignore. Theodore, Rodrick, and Edward all unconsciously gulped when they saw her.
More than her appearance, however, it was her aura that made them tremble. Velena was not releasing her full presence — if she had, most of them would not have been able to withstand it.
Even so, the natural Emperor Realm aura she emitted made her feel completely unparalleled in their eyes.
Asia and Rieka also stared at her. There was no denying that the woman before them was truly beautiful.
Jenna looked at Velena, then turned to her son and asked,
"Who is this lady, son?"
Nova smiled softly and answered,
"Her name is Velena. She is a friend who helped me greatly when I was in serious danger."
He paused for a moment before adding,
"She may look gentle, but she is actually an Emperor Realm powerhouse."
Everyone’s jaws dropped.
Apart from Theodore, not a single person present had ever seen an Emperor before. Even King Realm experts were rarely encountered by most of them.
And yet the beautiful woman standing before them was an Emperor. Their gazes immediately filled with greater respect.
What shocked them even more was the realization that she was only a maid. If a personal maid was already this powerful... just how strong was her master?
Nova continued,
"She is also the personal maid of another friend of mine. That friend is not here at the moment, though she should return later."
He deliberately kept the complicated matter between himself and Nyxara hidden for now. After that, he properly introduced everyone present to Velena.
Velena’s gaze settled on Rieka and Asia as she spoke.
"So these two are your wives, Lord Nova?" Velena asked suddenly.
Everyone was once again surprised. Why would such a powerful figure address Nova as "Lord Nova"? The situation felt increasingly strange.
However, none of them dared to question it. The pressure of her Emperor Realm presence was enough to keep them silent.
Nova chuckled a little awkwardly at her words. He couldn’t tell whether she was being sarcastic or simply straightforward. Still, he answered honestly,
"Ah... yes, Velena. They are both my lovely wives."
Velena nodded, her calm expression remaining unchanged.
"They are truly beautiful. Although they still lack in strength... that
is understandable given their age."
She then turned her gaze back to Nova and added in the same composed tone,
"But the Princess is even more beautiful than them."
