My Succubus Harem System In The Reverse World

Chapter 54: Shifting Plateaus and Strategic Bedtime Postures

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Shifting Plateaus and Strategic Bedtime Postures

Jenna returned home at ten.

I was still sitting on the sofa, watching a broadcast from Sector 2.

Multiple guilds were competing in a live gate event, their supports moving through the field in coordinated, almost theatrical patterns. The camera drones loved the dramatic shots: a Vanguard leaping off a collapsing structure while her support maintained a glowing tether from below, another pair clearing a monster wave with perfect timing.

It looked exciting. Clean. Nothing like the messy, blood-scented chaos of my own simulation. It had only been two days in this world, and already so much had happened.

The transmigration, Jenna, Gianna, the chains, Rei, the mutation.

Everything kept stacking.

Is there a reason I’m here?

Why is the system so insistent on pushing me closer to these women?

"You’re awake?"

Jenna’s voice pulled me out of the thought. She stood near the entrance, hair loose around her shoulders, wearing only the dark dress she had underneath her coat earlier.

The formal guildmaster armor was gone. She looked softer like this, but the authority hadn’t left her posture.

"Yeah. Waiting for you."

She smiled, small and tired.

"You don’t have to."

She walked over and sat beside me on the sofa.

Without asking, her fingers slid into my hair, gently working through the strands.

The touch was casual, almost proprietary.

"How was the test?"

"It wasn’t as hard as I thought. Maybe because there was a timer. Or because the teammates were that strong."

"A little of both." Her fingers kept moving slowly.

"I didn’t tell you about the timer on purpose. I wanted you to feel like there was no guaranteed way out. Pressure reveals more than comfort ever does. And I saw the feeds. You helped the team. You did better than I expected."

I gave her a guarded smile.

"Didn’t I overstep? Should I have just let Rei get eliminated?"

"That would have caused me even more trouble."

Jenna’s voice stayed calm.

"A forced ejection on a Lawless daughter inside one of my provisional simulations would have created paperwork and political noise I don’t need right now. You made the correct call. No need to regret it."

"But she’s influential too, huh?" I looked at her.

"How big is this sector, really?"

Jenna exhaled through her nose, still playing with my hair.

"Sector 7 contains ten different cities. When the world underwent the change, the plateaus shifted. Continents joined in places, split in others. The landscape rewrote itself. The Empresses divided the usable territory into ten controlled sectors. Some men who refused the matriarchy moved outward with their own followers and built independent zones, but most of the real power sits inside the sectors. What you’ve seen so far is only a fraction of one city inside Sector 7. You haven’t even scratched the surface."

Okay.

That was important lore.

Rei wasn’t just a strong cadet; she came from a family with enough weight to matter across multiple cities.

And if there were more people like her, Jenna’s decision to keep me close suddenly made even more sense.

I had barely spoken to other women since arriving. No random guild members, no casual contacts. It was deliberate. If even a portion of them reacted the way Rei had, caution was the only intelligent option until I had enough control and power to protect myself.

"How’s your body?" Jenna asked after a moment.

"Tired?"

"It was. Gianna came by earlier. It’s better now."

Jenna’s fingers paused in my hair. Her eyes sharpened slightly.

"You two are getting close."

"What’s the use?" I admitted.

"I’ve been thinking about what you said last night. It looks like I might have to go against my own morals and just... embrace the class."

Jenna didn’t answer immediately.

Instead, she closed the distance, pulling me into a hug so that my face pressed against the warmth of her chest. One hand stayed in my hair, the other settled against the back of my neck.

"You’re worried for her," she said quietly.

"Yes."

She cupped my face and tilted it up, so I had to look at her. The city lights from the window caught in her eyes.

"I know this is too fast," she said, "but would you like to have sex?"

The question landed without drama, without seduction games. Just a direct offer from a woman who had already calculated the risks and benefits.

I didn’t answer right away.

The system stirred at the edge of my thoughts, clearly interested.

My own body reacted, of course it did, but the part of me that still remembered the feelings, the training facility, and the way Rei had looked at me afterward stayed cautious.

"You’re offering because of the restriction," I said.

"Partly."

Jenna’s thumb brushed once along my jaw.

"Mira’s data is clear. Your control improved under pressure, but the upper limit is still locked behind full intimacy thresholds. The longer we wait, the more attention your public results will attract. Rei is only the first. Others will come. If we clear the restriction now, under controlled conditions, we reduce the chance of you being forced into a bad transfer later."

"That’s a very guildmaster way of proposing sex."

A faint smile touched her mouth.

"Would you prefer I pretend this is only about desire?"

"No. I prefer the truth."

She studied me for a moment longer.

"I do want you," she said.

"That part is real. But I also want you strong enough that neither my daughter nor anyone else can be broken by proximity to you. Those two things are not in conflict."

I let out a slow breath.

My hands rested lightly on her waist. The warmth of her body, the scent of her skin, the quiet authority in her voice, all of it pulled at the Succubus instincts that had been humming under my skin since the simulation.

"And if something goes wrong?" I asked. "If the transfer is too much?"

"Then Mira is on call, the apartment is monitored, and I am not a reckless cadet who opens both palms in a panic." Jenna’s voice remained steady. "I have survived worse risks than you."

The silence between us stretched. On the muted broadcast, another Sector 2 team was celebrating a clean clear. It looked so simple from the outside.

I thought about Gianna’s quiet, possessive kiss earlier.

About the nine days still left on the quest. About Rei already counting down the week until she could push again.

And about the hard truth Jenna had given me from the beginning: in this world, monogamy was a tactical bottleneck that could get people killed.

"I’m not ready to throw away everything I still believe," I said finally.

"But I’m also not stupid enough to pretend the restriction isn’t a liability."

Jenna’s fingers slid from my jaw into my hair again.

"Then we don’t have to decide the entire future tonight," she murmured.

"We only have to decide whether you trust me enough to take the next step under my control instead of someone else’s."

Her forehead rested lightly against mine.

The system remained silent, waiting.
