My Succubus Harem System In The Reverse World

Chapter 78: Post-Paralysis Breakup and an Involuntary Erectile Dysfunction

Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Post-Paralysis Breakup and an Involuntary Erectile Dysfunction

After what felt like five hours, my body slowly started returning to me.

Gianna was still in the chair, unmoving, watching. Her eyes never left me. The city outside the window had shifted from deep night to the first thin edge of morning, but neither of us commented on the time.

I could finally move my mouth. I wanted to speak.

The problem was that every possible sentence felt worthless.

Sorry I tried to force myself on you?

Sorry about the core absorption screen?

Sorry I got taken over?

But I hadn’t been taken over.

There had been no second voice this time. No flat, foreign tone speaking through me.

The thoughts had been mine. The hunger had felt like mine.

How was I supposed to know where the class ended and I began when both of them wanted the same thing in that moment?

I closed my eyes and reached for my core.

Gianna’s energy was still there, stronger than before, denser, but I couldn’t feel it the way I used to.

The anchor she had placed inside me sat behind a kind of numbness, present and unreachable at the same time.

Why did everything have to become this complicated?

Mere hours ago I had held her against my chest in a floating pod and felt, for the first time, like the noise in my head had gone quiet.

Now her eyes held none of that warmth.

It felt like we had been thrown back to the beginning, only this time she was more guarded, and I had given her every reason to be.

Fuck.

"Can you speak?"

She stood from the chair.

I swallowed once, the motion still clumsy, and forced the word out.

"Yes."

"Then move."

"I can’t."

My fingers were beginning to tingle with returning sensation, but the rest of me remained heavy and disconnected.

Gianna sat back down without another word.

Thirty more minutes passed in silence thick enough to choke on. Sensation crept back in stages, hands, then arms, then the slow, shaking return of my legs.

When I finally managed to stand, I was still naked, still marked by everything we had done, and the distance between us felt wider than the room.

"Talk," she said.

"I... got carried away."

She scoffed, a short sound with no humor in it.

"Is that all?"

"I don’t understand it myself. So I don’t know how to explain it to you."

"Then tell me what you felt. What was that? You must have had some kind of warning before you did something like that."

"That’s the part that scares me, Gia. I didn’t. Everything was fine. All I wanted was to hold you and kiss you and stay inside that moment. Then something snapped. My body started wanting more. Something permanent. Something that wouldn’t let go."

"And so you chose to do it anyway."

"I couldn’t stop."

"Couldn’t? Or didn’t want to?"

Her voice stayed level, but each word landed like a blade laid carefully on skin.

"Did it feel good? Watching me powerless and struggling underneath you? The same way you used the chains the first day we met?"

"Stop it."

I took a step forward. My legs still felt unreliable.

"That’s not how it felt. I was scared too. Scared something irreversible would happen. Scared I would cripple you permanently because of whatever is wrong with me."

"Then why didn’t you control yourself?"

She didn’t raise her voice. She didn’t need to.

"It’s your power, Revien. Yours. Why?"

There was no clean answer. Blaming impulse would have been easy. Blaming the class would have been easier. But the truth sat heavier: once the hunger rose, my body had moved as if the decision had already been made somewhere I couldn’t reach.

I moved closer.

"Hey... I’m sorry."

I lifted my hands to cup her face.

She stepped back before I could touch her. The rejection was quiet and absolute.

"Yeah," she said.

Her voice cracked once on the single syllable, then hardened again.

"Me too."

Silence stretched. I could still feel the phantom of her pulse under my palm from earlier. I could still see the exact moment her telekinesis had failed against whatever the class had done to my skin.

Gianna looked at me for a long moment, robe open, hair messy from sleep she hadn’t gotten, eyes red-rimmed but dry.

"Get cleaned up," she said.

"We’re going to see my mother."

"Gia—"

"No."

She cut me off without heat, which somehow made it worse.

"You don’t get to say my name like that right now. You don’t get to look at me like you’re the one who was hurt. I sat in that chair for hours watching you lie there paralyzed because something inside you tried to eat me. I almost died, Revien. Can you imagine how scared I was when I couldn’t feel my core? I’m not interested in soft apologies while I can still feel where your hand was."

I closed my mouth.

She turned, picked up her clothes from the floor, and began dressing with efficient, angry motions.

"You will tell her everything you just told me," she continued without looking at me.

"You will tell her about the screens, about the hunger, about the fact that you couldn’t stop. And then we will both listen to whatever she decides to do next. Because I’m not qualified to handle a support who can expand my core one minute and try to hollow it out the next."

"I never wanted to hurt you."

"I believe that."

She fastened her pants and reached for her top.

"I also believe it might not matter. Intent is a luxury. Results are what I have to live with."

I found my own clothes in silence. Every movement felt delayed, as if the lockdown had left a residual lag between thought and body.

When I was dressed, I stood there uselessly, waiting for whatever came next.

Gianna paused at the door, back still to me.

"For the record," she said quietly, "the part of me that wanted you is still here. That’s why this is difficult instead of simple. If I didn’t care, I would have called a medic and had you removed from my apartment while you were still frozen. I didn’t. That does not mean I trust you right now. It means I am choosing, against my better judgment, to give you one chance to help me understand what the fuck is living inside you before I decide how much of myself I’m still willing to risk."

She opened the door.

"Move."

I didn’t, then slowly mumbled.

"What about us?"

"...There’s no us. This meant nothing. You are just a support."
