My Succubus Harem System In The Reverse World
Chapter 81: Shifting Leashes for a Closed-Ring Yandere SparChapter 81: Chapter 81: Shifting Leashes for a Closed-Ring Yandere Spar
"No. But it’s what I was supposed to be. As you said, I can’t pretend to be somewhere and play house with your daughter when I should be using the power to fight off monsters and save lives. I will focus on that. I will dedicate myself to training and research. Use me however you want."
I let the numbers settle.
"What do you want me to do?"
"For the next week, you will train under Mira’s direct supervision. Daily redirection drills, blocker compliance, no unsupervised intimacy of any kind. You will not contact Gianna unless she initiates. You will report every anomaly, memory gaps, intrusive thoughts, unexpected system messages, without filtering them through shame. At the end of the week, we reassess."
"And if the absorption urge returns before then?"
"Then the blockers do their job, you tell us immediately, and we adjust. Panic is not a strategy. Neither is pretending the problem is only willpower."
Jenna closed the schematic.
"You hurt my daughter. You also expanded her core in a way that should not have been possible. Both of those facts are true at the same time. I’m choosing to work with the second fact while containing the first. Don’t make me regret the choice."
I met her eyes.
Jenna didn’t reply for a few seconds.
"What about the academy?"
"We’ll see about that. There’s still time before the entrance."
She stood, signaling the conversation was over for now.
"Mira is waiting in Lab Three. She has the updated blocker regimen and a full diagnostic schedule. Go."
I stood as well.
At the door, I paused.
"When she asked for a week... was that her decision or yours?"
Jenna’s expression didn’t change.
"It was hers. I agreed it was necessary."
I nodded once and left the private room.
Mira was already in Lab Three when I arrived.
She wore a standard white research coat, red hair tied back in a messy knot that had clearly been adjusted several times throughout the day. The moment she saw me, she pointed at a reinforced chair in the center of the diagnostic circle.
"You’re here. Good. Sit."
The chair adjusted automatically to my weight and locked a set of non-invasive monitoring bands around my wrists and ankles.
Mira didn’t bother with small talk.
She opened a secured case and removed a new bracelet, heavier than the previous one, closer to the solid density of a high-end piece of tech than the lighter guild-issue model I had been wearing.
"Left wrist."
I held it out. The band sealed itself with a soft metallic click. The screen flickered through a rapid initialization sequence, then settled into a blank standby state. No green status light. No immediate data cascade.
"Form the chain the way you do in training."
I raised my right hand and called the Submission chains.
Blue ethereal links spiraled into existence above my palm, solid and responsive. The new bracelet remained inert.
Mira watched the floating diagnostics for a moment, then nodded once.
"Dismiss it."
I pulled the mana back. The chains dissolved.
She adjusted several parameters on her tablet, eyes narrowed.
"Again."
I tried.
Nothing happened.
No resistance. No delayed formation. Simply the absence of the usual pathway between intention and construct. It felt like reaching for a limb that had been quietly removed.
"Huh?"
"Exactly."
Mira tapped a note into the log.
"The previous bracelet’s frequency is still loaded as a baseline. Your body should be partially restricted. Instead, you formed a full combat-ready construct on the first attempt, then lost the ability the moment I shifted the dampening field. That means your core has already adapted to the old signature and is now treating it as native background noise."
I stared at my empty hand.
"I didn’t do that on purpose."
"I know. Adaptation at this speed isn’t supposed to be voluntary."
She walked a slow circle around the chair, reading the live feed.
"When did the old bracelet stop feeling restrictive?"
"I don’t remember a specific moment. It just... stopped mattering. After the bathroom incident, maybe earlier. I stopped noticing it."
Mira made another note, expression tight.
"That’s a problem. The hardware is supposed to remain ahead of your core’s learning rate. If you’re overwriting the restriction frequencies in days instead of months, we need an entirely different containment approach."
She ran three more tests in silence.
First: basic mana projection.
The new bracelet allowed a thin thread, then clamped down hard when I tried to expand it.
Second: Partner Mapping.
The sense that usually reached toward Gianna’s residual anchor returned only a dull, muted echo. The connection was still there, but buried under layers of enforced quiet.
Third: deliberate attempt to trigger any absorption pathway.
I focused on the memory of the hunger that had risen the night before. The bracelet responded instantly, cold pressure racing up my arm, a sharp warning pulse against my wrist, and a system message that appeared whether I wanted it or not.
[External Restriction Detected]
[Core Absorption Pathway: Locked]
[Neural Override: Active]
[Mana Accessibility: 11%]
Mira’s tablet mirrored the same data.
"Good. At least this version still has teeth."
She set the tablet down and finally looked at me directly.
"Jenna told you the rules for the week?"
"Daily drills. Blocker compliance. No unsupervised contact. Report everything."
"Then we’ll start with honesty. Have you experienced any intrusive thoughts since the lockdown lifted? Memory gaps? System messages that felt... off?"
I hesitated, then answered.
"It told me focusing on a single target was inefficient. That vulnerability weakens everyone around me."
"That’s normal. Every support says these things. Anything different?"
"Nothing yet."
I can’t tell her about core absorption yet.
"And did the voice feel like the same one that spoke through you before, or different?"
"Different. Cleaner. More like a status report than a personality."
I flexed my fingers inside the monitoring bands.
"That’s what scares me. It’s getting harder to tell whether I’m arguing with the class or with a version of myself that already agrees with it."
Mira recorded the statement without commentary, but the set of her mouth had changed.
She ran two final scans, deep residual mapping and a full neural response sweep, then released the chair locks.
"You’re clear to leave the building. The new bracelet stays on at all times. If the interface turns red, you contact me or Jenna immediately, no matter the hour. If you feel the hunger rising and the bracelet doesn’t respond, you take a second blocker and you call us while you’re still able to speak. Clear?"
"Clear."
"Go home. Rest. Tomorrow we begin the actual recalibration drills at 0800. Don’t be late."
I nodded.
As I was about to leave, Mira called out again.
"Someone will be training with you tomorrow."
For a minute, a fragile hope rose in my chest.
"Who?"
"Rei Lawless."
