My Succubus Harem System In The Reverse World

Chapter 84: Offering My Body as a Transaction

Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Offering My Body as a Transaction

The day passed while I sat on the sofa and did nothing useful.

I didn’t trust the system.

Of course I didn’t.

The idea that Jenna had deliberately handed me something designed to cripple my core instead of a mild suppressant sat in my head like a splinter.

Why would she do that?

Protection, maybe.

A precaution she hadn’t bothered to explain. Or something colder. I turned the question over until the light outside the windows shifted from afternoon glare to the deeper blue of early evening, and still no clean answer formed.

At nine, the front door opened.

Jenna stepped inside, looking exhausted. The usual precision in her posture was still there, but the edges had dulled.

She paused when she saw the plates already set on the table.

"You made this?"

"Yes."

"How? Where did you learn?"

"I watched you cook a few times. Figured you’d be hungry today."

She didn’t smile.

If anything, the fact that I had prepared food seemed to register as another small anomaly she needed to file away.

Jenna set her coat aside, washed her hands, and sat.

She didn’t touch her portion until I had taken the first bite and swallowed. Only then did she begin eating, slow and methodical.

"This is good."

I nodded.

Five minutes of silence stretched between us, broken only by the quiet sounds of utensils and the low hum of the city beyond the glass.

"I called Gia," I started eventually.

Jenna didn’t look up.

"I told her I won’t disturb her."

"That’s good. Let’s focus on getting back on track."

I watched her face, searching for any flicker that might tell me how much she already knew.

The system remained quiet at the edge of my thoughts, waiting.

"The pills you gave me," I said.

"Were they really mild suppressants?"

Jenna’s hand paused over her plate. She set the utensil down and met my eyes.

"Is something wrong?"

"No. It’s just... when I was with Gia, at the moment things went bad, it completely blocked my core. That’s why I locked up."

A beat of silence.

"It’s not a mild suppressant."

I nodded once.

"I figured as much."

Jenna kept looking at me.

She already knew where this was going. I stopped eating and set my own utensil aside.

"Why did you lie to me?"

"To test whether you would really lose yourself with my daughter."

Her voice stayed even.

"And you did."

The words landed without raised volume, which only made them heavier.

"If you already suspected, why didn’t you stop me from going on the date?"

"Because I was uncertain. Acting on incomplete information is how people create bigger problems than the ones they were trying to avoid. Now the data is clearer."

"Now Gia doesn’t want anything to do with me."

"Consequences."

"You could have stopped it."

"I don’t act on uncertain information."

"Jen."

She looked up.

"Why did you lie?"

Jenna set her spoon down with deliberate care and stood. The motion was controlled, but I could see the fatigue underneath it.

"You must be tired. Go to sleep."

She reached out as if to brush her fingers across my forehead, the same casual gesture she had used before when her telepathy nudged me toward rest.

I caught her wrist before contact and pushed her hand away harder than I intended.

A thin blue line of mana flickered across my knuckles and vanished just as quickly.

[Emotional spike detected.]

[Core agitation rising.]

[Recommendation: Disengage. Current handler is withholding critical data.]

"Trying to put me to sleep again?"

My voice came out sharper than I meant.

"Rev. Listen. You’re unstable."

"I’m not."

The word came out too loud. I forced the volume down and failed.

"I’m not crazy. I didn’t want to hurt her. Why does no one believe me?"

"I believe you."

Jenna’s tone stayed low, practical, the same one she used when a situation needed containing before it drew external attention.

"Relax. If anyone monitoring this residential block notices an uncontrolled mana fluctuation coming from this apartment, it becomes a problem neither of us wants. Empress will learn about it."

The blue light under my skin faded. I stood there breathing too hard, staring at her, then let out a long, unsteady breath.

[She admits the test. She admits the lie. She still frames it as necessary.]

[Ask yourself what else she has decided not to tell you.]

[Your utility is being managed. Not protected.]

[You were merely an expensive investment she didn’t want to waste.]

I met Jenna’s eyes.

The system’s words sat in the back of my skull like oil on water, refusing to mix with anything warmer.

Part of me knew it was pushing. Part of me also knew Jenna had looked me in the face and admitted she used my loss of control as a data point.

Something bitter and exhausted rose in my chest.

"Do you want to have sex, Jenna?"

The question came out flat, almost conversational.

"Come on. I’ll level you up. That’s what I’m here for, right? That’s the version of this that doesn’t require trust. You get the growth. I get to be useful. No more tests. No more careful lies about mild suppressants. Just the exchange."

Jenna’s expression didn’t change in any dramatic way, but the air in the room cooled by a fraction.

[High-compatibility target. Controlled environment. Immediate measurable gain.]

[Emotional resistance is inefficient.]

I closed the distance.

The space between us disappeared in three steps.

Jenna didn’t retreat, but something in her posture tightened, the same controlled readiness she showed when a situation was about to turn.

"Tell me," I said, voice low and frayed at the edges.

"You invested. You wanted me to be useful. Fine. I’ll be useful. For you. For your daughter. For anyone you decide to throw at me."

The words kept coming, faster, less filtered.

"No more pretending this is about trust or careful progress or giving people time. You tested me. I failed the test in the exact way you needed data for. So stop looking at me like I’m a problem to manage and start using what you paid for. You want levels? I’ll give you levels. You want Gianna stronger? I’ll make her stronger when she can stand to be in the same room as me again. You want a second anchor, a third, a rotation that keeps the class fed and quiet? Point me at them. I’ll smile. I’ll take the blockers. I’ll report every intrusive thought like a good specimen."
