My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!

Chapter 948 - 951: This Was Done Intentionally

It’s a full two meters tall, with a gigantic beast on it. The beast is vicious, like some ancient mythic creature.

"This painting isn’t..."

Jared Quinn quickly clamped a hand over her mouth, narrowing his icy eyes at the painting.

How could there be a second one?

"Th-this looks like a painting from last century. There’s only one of it, absolutely no second copy." Someone in the crowd recognized the piece.

"From last century? Oh my God, could this be the one Mark Sov spent two years creating? How is it here? Wasn’t that masterpiece already lost to history?"

The cries in the crowd rose higher and higher. "What on earth is going on?"

Quite a few people in the crowd tried to take photos, but the security guards wouldn’t allow it, staring rigidly the whole time.

"Let’s go take a look." Melody Thorne pulled down Jared Quinn’s big hand and was the first to run over, squeezing into the crowd to stare at the painting. The more she looked, the more captivated she became...

Just as she was completely absorbed, a pair of hands shoved her. Melody Thorne was pushed forward by inertia,

"Srrrip!" The entire painting tore right down the middle, and Melody passed through it.

The crowd collectively gasped.

"She actually destroyed the painting—she actually destroyed this famous masterpiece!"

Melody steadied herself and stood firm. Someone had just pushed her, on purpose. She hadn’t offended anyone here!

Elias Hale’s gaze swept the surroundings and landed on Han Shan’s sinister eyes, which were locked on Melody Thorne.

Noticing Elias Hale’s suspicious look, Han Shan curled her lips into a smile and walked toward the painting.

"Miss Thorne, how could you destroy this piece? I’ve been keeping this painting in my collection for a long time, and I brought it out today for everyone to admire. Don’t you think what you did is going a bit too far? There is absolutely no other copy of this painting in the world!"

Han Shan’s words sounded like both a probe and a reproach!

Thinking of how Jared Quinn had just covered her mouth, Melody met Han Shan’s gaze. "Since this painting is so precious and one of a kind, how did it end up in your hands, Miss Han? You’re still so young, owning a painting like this doesn’t really add up. And to me, it looks fake."

"Fake? How is that possible? There isn’t even a forgery of this painting anywhere in the world!" someone burst out angrily.

"Miss Thorne, you’re saying this painting is fake? Have you seen the real one then?" Han Shan narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms as she looked at her.

Melody understood: this was a test.

She had indeed seen it before, in the abandoned castle behind Jared Quinn’s villa. So Han Shan was looking for that painting? And now suspected her and Jared?

Wasn’t it said that Jared Quinn had spent hundreds of millions to buy that painting?

"I haven’t seen the real one, but I’m certain this one is fake." Melody’s fingers brushed over the painting.

Back in the Thorne Family, her dad loved calligraphy and painting; an entire room was filled with his collection. So she’d picked up some knowledge. Her dad had taught her which era used what kind of paper, and how to tell if something was a forgery.

"If you haven’t seen it, how can you be sure it’s fake?" Han Shan was unwilling to let her probing fail. "Miss Thorne, even though you’re my brother’s friend, this painting is far too valuable. You can’t just call it fake and wash your hands of it."

"What do you want to do?"

"Compensate me with an identical one!"

"Sure." Melody spoke lazily, her delicate face stunningly beautiful. "This kind of paper, you can get it right here in Zetania. The material’s special, but not hard to find. It is definitely not from last century. As for the painting on it, Miss Han, you don’t need to worry. I’ll find a few artists to copy it out for you."
