CLAP!

The sound resounded through the almost otherwise quiet chamber.

Tchaaaaak—!

An arm could be seen flying through the air, followed by a spray of blood.

’Huh?!’

Ray heard the mandibles close, but for some reason, he could still think and feel that he was dying.

"FELIX?!" Chloe shouted in both panic and surprise at the sudden swap.

"....?!"

’Felix?!’

Ray quickly snapped his eyes wide open to see that he was far away from Nebula and, nevertheless, still lying in a pool of blood due to the gaping wound in his body.

But that wasn’t what he was after.

Lifting his head to look at where the Spider Queen was, he could see Felix in her grip with one of his arms missing.

No legs and now, one arm gone?

’Smiling? He’s—He’s smiling?!’

«Er.... I don’t mean to interrupt but ahem...» Elyon cleared his throat and then,

«... You are bleeding, fool! Heal up now because we don’t have much time left!»

Ray didn’t react for a few seconds as he was still stunned by the fact that Felix had willingly risked his life for him.

The good thing was that his head wasn’t missing, which meant that the boy had shoved his arm forward and made sure the beast bit it off instead of his head.

Even Nebula looked stunned for a few moments as she stared at the werewolf in front of her.

’El—Elyon. Come take the wheel.’

«Why? I don’t know how to fight, and neither do I have combat skills I can use.»

’I don’t need you to fight. I need you to heal the body. If I do so, it will take a minute or two. But with you, it will be faster. So come on.’

«Ye-yeah. That’s right.» Elyon uttered and quickly scrambled toward the chair while Ray left it.

Bruce, who was in the corner, just clicked his tongue.

«Can’t believe that you are letting a mortal command you like this. What happened to your pride of being a celestial? Tsk.»

Ray shot the werewolf a death glare.

"Just shut your mouth, or I’ll shut it myself!"

"...."

«I dare you to do so.»

A dark glint flashed through the werewolf’s eyes.

«Guys. Now’s not the right time for that. Allow me to focus, for heaven’s sake.»

"...."

There was now silence, and Elyon heaved a sigh of relief.

"Thank you."

Back outside, Ray’s eyes had changed from grey to gold, and instantly, a white glow enveloped his whole body.

It shone with brilliance, and the gaping wound in Ray’s stomach began to knit itself together at an impressive rate.

Alas!

The glow attracted Nebula’s attention.

She turned her head slightly in the boy’s direction.

Everybody followed her gaze and instantly tensed up.

SCREEEEECH—!

She immediately tossed the werewolf from her leg, sending the boy flying with so much force that he collided with the dead bodies of the other spiders in the chamber.

Without delay, Nebula bolted forward.

Within a few seconds, she was upon the boy with a raised leg, which whipped through the air toward his head.

A second before impact, Kai found himself in front of the leg—having been one of the closest to the Tribrid.

Without hesitation, he threw himself forward with his hands raised and surrounded by purple crystals.

Bang!

The ground cracked beneath Kai’s feet as his teeth gnashed together tightly.

"....."

Nebula stared at the boy before her for several shocked seconds.

The crystals surrounding his hands hadn’t shattered like they had the times before.

And he didn’t even go flying this time around.

Looking down, she could now see the reason.

His legs were deeply planted into the ground by a mountain of purple crystals, anchoring him in place.

His side still bled heavily from the gash he had suffered earlier.

With a slight twitch of his feet, a pillar of crystal burst out of the ground with impressive speed.

Since Nebula hadn’t expected it, the pillar crashed into her jaws, swinging her head and body a few inches backward and away from Ray.

She was about to move furiously.

But then,

Her speed greatly reduced for some reason.

Quickly looking down, she realized that her legs were being pinned to the ground.

And it was because of ice.

Her feet were being encased in ice.

Her eyes rolled around to catch sight of Trisha bending down behind her with her hands firmly planted on the ground, spreading her ability forward.

Blood rolled down the girl’s nose, but she didn’t stop.

Crimson continued trickling down again and again, but she remained intensely focused.

Chloe, on the other hand, was now fixated on her task before she ran out of MF completely.

"Yo-you want to move? Let’s see how you do so now!" Kai shouted as he also joined in with his crystal ability.

And now, Nebula was being pinned to the ground by both crystal and ice.

"....."

Ray’s opened abdomen was now knitting itself shut even faster.

Elyon’s eyes were closed too for maximum effect.

While Ray’s mind began racing for a way to defeat the Spider Queen.

There was something he could use, but he needed to get close.

But how was he supposed to do so when her eight legs were such a massive problem?

He would have to search for a way to keep them occupied.

The moment the thought entered his mind, a dangerous smile crossed his lips.

But then,

His ears perked up as he heard a loud, grating sound that sent shivers running down his spine.

Even though her legs were being pinned down, Nebula didn’t even look worried one bit.

She simply lowered her abdomen to the ground.

Reducing her height to that of Trisha, who was behind her.

The spinnerets beneath her abdomen contracted violently.

And then,

TSSHHK—!

An ocean of shimmering silk erupted behind her, spreading across the chamber before hardening into a metallic web that sped toward Trisha with lightning speed.
