My Ultimate OP System: Summoning All Dragons, Gods, Heroes & Villains
Chapter 328: Sealing Against Time (Bonus)Several meters away, Carson had once again fallen onto one knee.
His breathing had become visibly heavier as the condition of his internal organs had deteriorated even further.
But it was at that very moment that everything began happening too fast.
A beam of light suddenly streaked past Audrey’s side. It moved so quickly that by the time she turned, Anton was already gone.
Nina, moving at the speed of light, had opened with a bedazzling entrance.
Audrey’s eyes narrowed as she halted time within the range of her zone.
But, It was already too late.
Nina had long since crossed beyond the vertical reach of the Time Zone, disappearing high into the skies before Audrey’s ability could reach her.
And right then Audrey felt the surrounding air getting distorted.
She immediately looked upward to the source and spotted Jenner Hemilton floating in the skies above.
The elderly woman remained perfectly composed, both arms extended toward Audrey’s position below.
She had just cast a spatial sealing spell directly around Audrey’s immediate vicinity.
Jenner’s summon rank had placed her at Emperor Class level , meaning that during her lifetime, she belonged to the lowest tier of the Grand Class as a Grand Caster.
But that was not her state currently.
Like Ethan’s other summons, Jenner was presently operating under the influence of his amplification trait.
And at this moment, Jenner’s amplification elevated the strength of her sealing magic to a level comparable to that of a Beast-Class summon.
And with that increase in power, the spell she had cast carried the single objective to imprison Audrey inside an isolated section of space.
If the seal completed successfully, Audrey’s dominion over time would no longer stretch across the battlefield.
Instead, her control would be compressed down to only a few inches around her own body.
Less than five inches.
A distance so insignificant that, for someone whose greatest strength lay in control over a vast range, it was practically the same as taking her power away altogether.
However, attempting to compress space to that extent and actually succeeding were two entirely different matters.
It was true that Audrey felt her reach over the rest of her time zone diminish drastically. Its original span of one kilometer in width and two hundred meters in height had already been compressed to roughly half that size.
But at the same time, she was actively resisting the sealing magic itself, fighting against the very space that sought to confine her.
Her Time Magic immediately began acting directly upon the space-sealing spell surrounding her.
She was applying the aspect that caused anything acting within her zone to immediately reach its endpoint in time.
That included magic spells itself.
Audrey was forcing Jenner’s sealing spell toward the end of its lifespan, attempting to make its duration conclude instantly.
But she faced another problem.
Jenner was being fueled by Ethan’s infinite mana, meaning that each time her spell felt like it was about to diminish, she would simply channel more of Ethan’s mana into it, giving the spell a continuation.
And so it became a deadlock, with two powerful magics acting directly against each other without either one giving ground.
-
Thankfully, Anton had already been removed from the equation beforehand.
Based on Ethan’s assessment, there was a genuine possibility that Anton would have been able to directly interfere with Jenner’s sealing spell.
If Anton managed to touch the sealing walls themselves, he could simply apply one of his marks onto the space before sending the entire seal away.
It wasn’t an unreasonable concern.
After all, Anton had already demonstrated something similar back at the factory.
He had been able to directly interact with Ethan’s Interference Barrier at Stark Industries, apply a mark to it, and remove the spell entirely.
Due to that, there was no guarantee he wouldn’t be capable of doing exactly the same thing to Jenner’s space seal.
That was why Ethan chose to eliminate him from the battlefield first.
However, It wasn’t the only reason.
The second one was this; removing Anton was simply the better option compared to having Nina attempt to carry Audrey away herself.
Audrey’s greatest asset was her control over time, which had to be restrained.
Simply relocating her somewhere else wouldn’t have solved the problem. If anything, It would only have moved her outside Jenner’s effective range.
So Ethan had chosen the alternative to Anton away first.
But Of course. He had also understood the risk involved. The moment anyone made direct contact with Anton, there was always the possibility of becoming marked.
Nina knew this and was prepared accordingly.
As far as she was concerned, as long as Anton was successfully removed from Audrey’s side, the objective would already have been accomplished.
And, everything unfolded exactly as Ethan had anticipated.
Barely a second after Nina forcefully carried Anton away at the speed of light, Anton managed to touch her.
A mark was applied.
Immediately afterward, Nina disappeared from sight as Anton activated his ability and sent her away.
But by then, they had both gone beyond Audrey’s reach. Exactly where Ethan had intended them to be.
Anton cursed before returning his attention back to Audrey.
His eyes immediately narrowed as he realized that she was no longer simply fighting the King. Nor was she even paying attention to the battlefield itself.
Every ounce of her concentration was being directed toward resisting Jenner’s sealing magic.
Seeing that, Anton’s first instinct was to get Audrey out of there.
Without wasting another moment, he swung the staff toward her position, activating his ability in an attempt to make her vanish from inside the sealing field.
But nothing happened.
Anton’s eyes widened in genuine shock. "What?"
He immediately attempted it again but got the same result.
Unfortunately for him, even though Jenner’s sealing magic was clashing directly against Audrey’s time magic, the fact remained that the space-sealing barrier itself was still active.
And just as always, the space-sealing spell functioned as a one-way barrier. Entry from the outside was permitted, but leaving from within the sealed space was impossible, not even through teleportation.
It was the exact reason why, when Valerie had first cast the inferior version of this spell against the members of the League, none of them had been able to escape the compound enclosed by the barrier.
And likewise...
The same situation now applied to Audrey.
—
However, failing to pull Audrey out of danger suddenly became the least of Anton’s concerns.
A strange sensation abruptly ran through him, changing his expression. "No."
Someone was tampering with one of his dimensions.
Right then, Anton waved his staff and a floating black orb immediately materialized before him.
It represented one of his pocket dimensions compressed into a single point. But the sight before him made his pupils contract.
The entire orb had been engulfed by darkness.
Shadowy energy wrapped around its surface while countless black tentacles crawled across it.
The Princess...
She was successfully submerging the entirety of his pocket dimension into her own endless realm of darkness.
Anton instinctively attempted to send the dimensional orb away, but It refused to move, no longer responding properly to him.
It was as though Isabella’s darkness had spread through every corner of that dimension until the space itself had become hers.
Anton cursed again.
His eyes moved repeatedly between Audrey, and the increasingly corrupted orb floating before him.
That shadow demon was about to come out.
Anton then decided to stop wasting time with trying to act from afar. If Audrey couldn’t be brought out, then he would simply go in himself.
Without a second thought, he tightened his grip around the staff before diving from his position in the skies, accelerating directly toward the section of space where Audrey remained imprisoned inside Jenner’s seal.
His eyes never left Audrey...He only needed to reach her.
But midway, a gigantic arrow of lightning suddenly pierced straight through him.
There had been no warning, nor had he seen the visible projectile cross the distance before it struck.
The impact instantly sent him plummeting back toward the ruined streets as he crashed through chunks of debris before skidding violently across the ground, arcs of electricity still dancing across his body.
Far away, on the opposite side of the battlefield...
Ethan calmly lowered the bow slightly as he had just intercepted the interference.
The reason the attack had reached Anton with such impossible speed, almost as though it had never traveled at all, was because of one of Rue’s borrowed abilities.
Loaded Outcome.
A skill that guaranteed the attack would reach its intended result.
As the effect concluded, the small black cat perched quietly around Ethan’s shoulders dissolved into countless purple specks of mana.
Its had fulfilled its role to serve as the sacrifice required to invoke the sure-hit effect.
The fading particles had barely disappeared before another black cat silently materialized around Ethan’s neck.
Right then, Mr Stark extended his right hand, gathering lightning above his palm.
It condensed into another massive arrow crackling with violent electrical energy. He drew it back and nocked it against the string of a bow formed entirely from lightning itself.
A construct created through his Aspect of Charge.
And his next target...Was Audrey.
