My Ultimate OP System: Summoning All Dragons, Gods, Heroes & Villains
Chapter 378: The Risk (Bonus) (Fixed)Countless glowing mana pathways stretched throughout her body like an intricate network.
He followed the Beelstone as it descended, but rather than continuing through her body naturally, it abruptly stopped somewhere around the center of her abdomen before firmly attaching itself to the surrounding mana pathways.
Thin strands of purple-like energy immediately spread outward from it, weaving themselves through the mana circuits until the crystal became completely integrated into the network.
Ethan then deactivated the True Sight skill as he commented on what he had observed. "It latches directly onto the mana pathway system."
He looked toward the others. "It embeds itself into the mana circuits, and if someone tried pulling it out normally... they’d kill the host."
Everyone had varying degrees of shock on their faces as the King spoke. "So are you saying that my people are doomed to have this forever unless they intend to die?"
Ethan nodded. "It appears so, but give me a second. I think I may know how to deal with this. But first of all, we need to know the scale."
His eyes immediately found Valerie. "Valerie. You do know locator spells?"
She nodded. "I do."
Ethan nodded before extending a hand toward Albedo.
A faint distortion formed around her abdomen and slowly traveled upward through her body. He was using his Aspect of Dominion to pull the Beelstone out of her.
The invisible force continued rising until it reached her throat. Then her face twisted in discomfort before she suddenly bent forward, coughing violently.
The dark purple crystal shot out of her mouth and flew straight into Ethan’s waiting hand, drawing slight grimaces from some of those watching.
Albedo remained leaning forward for another second before taking a deep breath and straightening herself.
"I hated every second of that."
Ethan smiled a bit before undoing the summon, sending Albedo back into the summoning space to recuperate from the damage the extraction had caused to her mana pathways.
If Albedo had been a living person with a natural body, she would have already been dead.
This was because an Awakened’s mana pathway system eventually synchronized with the body’s biological functions. Over time, every major organ adapted to receiving mana through those pathways.
Once those pathways were destroyed, the body lost that support all at once, causing catastrophic organ failure so rapidly that there was no opportunity for recovery.
Summons, however, were different.
Their mana pathways were no longer what sustained their lives. Their existence was instead bound directly to the lives of their summoners, leaving the pathways within them to serve only as conduits that distributed the mana supplied through the summoning contract.
However, once those pathways were damaged, a summon could no longer properly receive or channel that mana until the pathways naturally regenerated. That was why Ethan had immediately sent Albedo back to the summoning space.
Of course, summons could still "die"—or more accurately, be returned to the Well of Undying—if they suffered overwhelming damage so severe that recuperation was no longer possible.

Ethan then turned to Valerie and held up the Beelstone. "I’m going to amplify your magic. I need you to locate every magical signature identical to this one."
Valerie immediately understood. "I can do that, but I’ll need a complete map of the city and quill ink."
"I have those," Eduardo spoke immediately, already making his way upstairs. "I’ll be right back."
Right then, the King spoke. "If you intend to find the demons with that method, I’m afraid it won’t work. I had the Casters in my palace do the same thing."
Ethan shook his head. "No. I’m looking for everyone else in this city who’s been affected. Otherwise... how are we supposed to retrieve those stones from their bodies?"
The King stared at him in surprise for a second, but right then Eduardo returned with the map.
Their attention quickly shifted to him as he spread the massive, detailed map of Gritnia across the table. Then he placed a small cup of ink beside it.
Valerie took the Beelstone from Ethan and placed it at the center of the large map before reaching out a hand toward Ethan. He stepped beside her and took it.
The moment he amplified her magic, the mana flowing through her body surged dramatically.
She closed her eyes and began chanting the locator spell.
As the final words left Valerie’s lips, a red magic circle glowed over everything on the table, and the ink slowly floated out of the cup.
Everyone watched in silence as the mass of ink remained suspended above the map before separating into hundreds of tiny black droplets.
One after another, the droplets descended onto different parts of the map... different cities, roads, and houses.
The regions outside Grayforte City only received a droplet or two, while the overwhelming concentration settled over the capital.
By the time the spell finished, the map was covered in countless tiny black dots. Each one marked the location of a Beelstone somewhere within the country.
"That’s a lot," Ethan muttered.
He immediately activated the Eyes of the Sage as his gaze swept across the entire map, rapidly processing every marked location before making a mental count.
After several moments, he frowned.
"There are over a thousand. One thousand three hundred and five, to be exact."
The Eyes of the Sage had gathered those exact details in less than a few seconds.
The King’s eyes widened. "This is far more detailed than what the Casters in my palace managed to do. How? How did they even manage to spread this many?"
The General looked thoughtful for a moment before speaking. "But perhaps not all of those are inside people. Some of them may just be hidden somewhere."
Ethan nodded. "That’s true."
Then he turned back toward Valerie. "Is there any way to narrow the results?"
She slowly shook her head.
"No. The spell only reacts to the magical signature of the Beelstones. It can’t tell whether they’re inside a person or simply stored somewhere."
Ethan nodded as his eyes continued moving across the map.
Hayley’s eyes suddenly narrowed at one particular dot. It was a dot on a write-up Eduardo had made on the house to indicate House Arcorys.
Actually, there were sections of the map that Eduardo had personally labeled with their respective locations, since those places were not naturally named on the map itself.
Over time, he had specifically written names over those locations, and House Arcorys was one of them.
"What?" she exclaimed, pointing at the marked area where her house was. "There’s one of those stone things in my house?"
Ethan gave a nod. "I had my suspicions that night when I sensed traces of demonic energy coming from your uncle."
"At the time, I couldn’t figure out exactly what it was. But now... it makes sense that it was him."
Although the challenge had concluded several days ago, Hayley had actually met with her uncle the very next morning, just as he and his wife were preparing to leave House Arcorys.
To his complete surprise, she had stopped them and offered him a place to remain in the family house.
The reason she had given him that day was rather straightforward, stating that, in truth, he mostly just got on her nerves. However, he was still family.
That, however, came with conditions.
From that day onward, everything within House Arcorys operated under her authority.
She remained in her own room, while her uncle was free to occupy whichever vacant room he preferred, even if it happened to be the study and bedroom that had once belonged to her late father.
Hayley had also officially assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer of The Arc Companies, with control over House Arcorys’ forty percent shareholding, as the company’s final authority now rested with her.
Her uncle, meanwhile, had been appointed Chief Operating Officer.
She allowed him to continue overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, largely preserving the same system that had existed under her father.
At the same time, every executive, shareholder, and employee had been informed that they ultimately answered to Hayley Arcorys.
Despite everything that had happened, Hayley had wanted to see whether she and her uncle could rebuild some form of relationship.
Not as father and daughter, nor even close family... but something cordial.
Of course, she remained cautious and made certain he never crossed the boundaries she had established.
But now...
Learning that a Beelstone had been hidden inside him all this time made her deeply regret ever asking him to stay, and a bitter feeling settled heavily in her chest.
