My Weekly Refreshing Mentor Spirit

Chapter 778 445: Genesis Replaces Thinking, Human Evil Crowds the Mind_2

Very soon, the Mimic Venerable King shifted its gaze back to Xue Dili, stating directly: "This is a large-scale summoning ritual that will call forth the world's only True God, granting one wish in return."

Xue Dili: "..."

Are you sure this ritual isn't called the Seven Dragon Balls, or the Holy Grail War?

Xue Dili quickly understood why there was such a bizarre ritual: simply put, the Seventh Apostle needed to provide a bit of hope to the humans they considered mere pigs, so as to evoke the deepest fears in them.

Whether it's fear of death or fear of the future.

Without this ritual, the efficiency of collecting fear would drop significantly. Curiously, the underlying code of this ritual might even be linked to the authority of the Apostle.

Xue Dili detected the scent of a bug. He loved to probe the enemy's bugs, making their brains work against each other.

"Has this Apostle's situation become so dire that they must restrict themselves through their authority to extract more fear?" Xue Dili mused, quickly slipping into the mindset of the Seventh Apostle's plight,

"And if someone wished for the Seventh Apostle to commit suicide, would they just drop dead?" Xue Dili asked the Mimic Venerable King again.

In terms of analyzing techniques, Xue Dili was still an outsider; he could only make small adjustments to techniques, like altering "Genesis" to "Pseudo Genesis," achievable in just one day, and the stripped-down version, "Apocalypse Genesis," which takes four days.

But this was merely elementary arithmetic of techniques, akin to using software: Xue Dili could just manage settings and set up environments at most.

While the Mimic Venerable King resembled a programmer capable of modifying the underlying code of the software, it certainly knew more than Xue Dili.

"I've looked into it; this ritual can fulfill many things, but it also has many prohibitive clauses, like 'unable to harm the Apostle itself,' 'unable to prevent oneself from collecting fear,' written into the agreements."

"These agreements are numerous, making it impossible even if they wished for the Seventh Apostle's suicide." said the Mimic Venerable King, "Furthermore, the Seventh Apostle is essentially a conglomerate of subspaces related to 'fear'. You can think of the Seventh Apostle as a kind of 'World Consciousness' within these subspaces."

explained the Mimic Venerable King.

"So, the Seventh Apostle is considered the World Consciousness of this world?" asked Xue Dili.

"Yes."

"And it also used a ritual to restrict itself, so it's forced to fulfill other people's wishes, just for the sake of harvesting more fear?" Xue Dili asked again.

"Yes."

Dark ideas flashed through Xue Dili's mind in an instant. Quickly searching through them, he seemed to have found a logical loophole in the Seventh Apostle's design!

Xue Dili suddenly had an idea!

Without holding back, he pulled out his most frequently used Treasure, handy even if it couldn't keep up with his growth anymore, yet still immensely useful in logistics, salvation, and aftermath work.

"Innovation Era"

He'd always used this as a field magic, only now recalling its true essence!

The essence of "Genesis" is the recreation of Paradise, which replaces the original World Consciousness, allowing one to assume its rank in the hierarchy!

Isn't that convenient?

Still, it was the first time Xue Dili used it against an Apostle, an overpowered monster of this caliber, making him unsure of its effectiveness, he handed it over to the Mimic Venerable King: "This was a ritual developed by a deity from my world, specifically targeting the world, and it's been one of the techniques I used the most."

"Do you have any way to activate this thing instantly during the Seventh Apostle's Evil God summoning technique, so I can achieve the result of 'replacing the world'?" Xue Dili handed over nearly half of his strength encased in "Genesis" to the Mimic Venerable King.

Truth be told, he used to rely way too much on Genesis.

Can't connect with the World Consciousness? Just use Genesis!

Not enough power? Just use Genesis!

World in tatters? Still, just use Genesis!

In hindsight, he realized he had turned into someone who always started with the wheelchair, letting Genesis think for him, and his brain just getting squashed.

"A world replacement technique? I have plenty here too; shouldn't be anything special... huh?" Initially dismissive, the Mimic Venerable King suddenly paused upon seeing it, and immediately took "Genesis" with great interest.

"Hold on, this thing seems interesting. It might be connected to the Venerable King. Let me study it; you go ahead with the ritual. Don't mind me, this... really has something..." The Mimic Venerable King began to ramble, likely with its limited computing power starting to overload.

Xue Dili scratched his head. What does Genesis have to do with the Venerable King?

Wait, maybe it really does. There's a Venerable King Fragment on Earth. It's well known that the Mimic Venerable King is a consciousness born from one of the fragments of the Venerable King, meaning the Earth Consciousness and the Mimic Venerable King are essentially of the same rank.

Only the power level differs greatly.

And "Genesis" is the ultimate ritual used by the Earth Divine King to suppress the Earth Consciousness...

Suddenly, Xue Dili understood why the Mimic Venerable King was so serious now. Perhaps there's more to this than he thought.

As the Mimic Venerable King suggested, Zeus is indeed a bona fide descendant of the Venerable King.

And in this Divine Era where magic power isn't restricted, these local gods with full Venerable King spirituality created their ultimate work without any constraints, useful data for even the Mimic Venerable King.

Compared to the Fairy Tale World created by the Evil Eye, it offers more research value, despite the Evil Eye also being a Venerable King Fragment, and the creatures from the Evil Eye's fairy tale considered one of the Venerable King creations.

So, the Mimic Venerable King fell silent, now completely engrossed in research.

As for Xue Dili, even though he had conversed with the Mimic Venerable King for a long time, in the outside world, he had simply appeared dazed, as if lost in thought for mere seconds.

At this moment, the Baron, branded a "monster" earlier, spoke up: "I don't know why I've been given this identity card, but I still want to defend myself. I have indeed killed, and I subjected those before their deaths to truly inhumane torture, but I don't see my actions as wrong."

"I'm right!" he declared earnestly, word by word.

"How many did you kill?" the Half-Elf kept her dagger up, asking cautiously.

"Three people, a family of three, I killed them personally," the Baron admitted freely, which earned Xue Dili's admiration.

Perhaps he is the martyr, and I'm the monster.

Being a monster seemed fitting, given his amalgamation of indelible marks, yawning voids, the parasitic influence of the Divine Tree, the Undead base code, Demon transformation power... and the crazy, smiling mask of senior Hassan, amongst other peculiarities.

Any one of these identities could qualify as a "monster."

Perhaps that's what this identity implies.

"I'll trust you this once." The Half-Elf said, taking another step back.

"I'll protect you. At least around me, there's some safety assured to you," Xue Dili offered.

Initially, he had treated it like a werewolf game, but now, knowing about the technique's capacity to contact the Seventh Apostle, he became slightly serious.

The noble young lady seemed to have awaited these words, instantly moving behind Xue Dili, saying: "Thank you, Father! You're a good person!"

Xue Dili merely nodded calmly.

Yet the Half-Elf hesitated slightly, eventually stepping behind Xue Dili, indicating her stance.

"Alright, let's rest here for the night. I'll prioritize protecting the lady targeted by this strange prophecy." Xue Dili continued his priestly duty, maintaining a cold demeanor even towards the noble young lady now close to him, since neither were young boys.

"Agreed." This time, no one objected.

And when they began to settle and prepare for a temporary rest, the Half-Elf approached, speaking to Xue Dili with no kindness: "I choose to believe you, but please undo any tampering or drugs you used on me."
