Myriad Dragon Divine Sovereign
Chapter 336 - 335: Emperor-Grade Martial ArtsWen Qingye walked along the passageway.
WHOOSH!
A small, black shadow suddenly shot out from a hole on the side, a cold glint flashing as it lunged for Wen Qingye’s face.
Wen Qingye’s senses were extremely sharp. With a single thrust, his sword pierced the black shadow’s head.
SQUELCH!
The black shadow fell to the ground, let out a shriek, and fled for its life.
’This tomb is full of strange things, and some are downright bizarre.’ Wen Qingye had already gotten a clear look at the black shadow’s appearance. It was a monster shaped like a monkey, with a shriveled, hairless body. The sword strike just now had only carved a deep gash on its face, failing to kill it outright.
The creature bore some resemblance to the Demon Beasts raised by the Witch Race, but Wen Qingye couldn’t be certain.
Over the next period of time, another ten or so monkey-like monsters attacked Wen Qingye. Without exception, they all ended up wounded and fled in a panic. Their strange shrieks as they retreated only added to the passageway’s eerie atmosphere.
After some more time passed, Wen Qingye suddenly sensed something strange about a relief sculpture up ahead.
"Get out here!"
Wen Qingye stopped in his tracks and slashed his sword sideways, unleashing a brilliant golden Sword Qi.
The Sword Qi struck the wall relief with ferocious power.
CRACK!
The relief shattered, and a much larger monkey-like monster shot out. There was a deep sword scar on its chest.
This monkey-like monster was enormous, standing over three meters tall. It had no fur, and its shriveled flesh was as hard as metal, making it difficult to kill with Sword Qi.
Letting out a terrifying shriek, the monkey-like monster swiped a claw at Wen Qingye.
WHOOSH!
It charged toward Wen Qingye with incredible speed, but the One Thought Sword in Wen Qingye’s hand was even faster.
Golden sword flashes fell mercilessly.
After being struck by Wen Qingye’s Sword Qi, the monster was forced back. In the blink of an eye, Wen Qingye unleashed nineteen consecutive streams of Sword Qi, ramming the monkey-like monster back into the wall relief.
Holding his sword, Wen Qingye continued walking forward.
.......
「A passageway in the tomb」
At the end of the passageway was a large Stone Gate. On either side stood two ferocious-looking Stone Beasts. Their heads were flat, and on top of each, a burning candle cast a faint, flickering glow.
The surrounding walls were covered in relief sculptures. Through the Stone Gate, one could hear the continuous sound of exploding energy, as well as the furious curses of Shii Tangyu.
Inside the Stone Gate was a secret chamber. The floor was littered with bodies, along with the corpses of several strange Demon Beasts. On a stone table sat several Bamboo Scrolls, and behind the table stood a statue.
Aside from this, there was a long, dark corridor on both the left and right sides.
The statue’s appearance was quite peculiar; it looked like a person with wings.
"Tang Rui, you really thought you were a match for me? Hahaha!" Shii Tangyu tilted his head back, laughing as he looked down at Tang Rui, who was lying on the ground, coughing up blood.
At this moment, Shii Tangyu was covered in blood, his own body heavily wounded.
Tang Rui, on the other hand, was even more gravely injured. His face was grim and his gaze flickered, but in the next instant, he forced a smile. "The Core Disciple of the Celestial Profound Sect is truly impressive. I am no match for you."
"Hmph! Don’t try that act on me, Tang Rui. I know your type. You were planning to fight me for the treasure, but now that you’ve realized you’re no match for me, you’re trying to save your own skin." Shii Tangyu looked at Tang Rui with a savage grin and said, "I’m telling you, no chance!"
Shii Tangyu’s words sent a chill down Tang Rui’s spine, but his expression remained calm as he slowly analyzed the situation. "There are many treasures here. I’m sure the other two corridors hold treasures as well. You’ll never be able to handle Liu Xuan and Youx Dong on your own."
Hearing this, Shii Tangyu seemed somewhat swayed. "Are you saying you’ll help me?"
Tang Rui quickly replied, "Of course. I will definitely help you, as long as you’re willing to let me go now."
Shii Tangyu didn’t answer. Instead, he walked over to the nearby stone table, picked up one of the Bamboo Scrolls, and opened it. The moment he saw its contents, his heart began to leap, and he trembled uncontrollably.
"Mid-Level Emperor Grade Martial Arts! Three of them are Mid-Level Emperor Grade Martial Arts!" Shii Tangyu couldn’t suppress his excitement and roared aloud.
Lying on the floor, Tang Rui’s eyes flashed with a keen light upon hearing Shii Tangyu’s words, but he quickly feigned an air of indifference.
Just as Shii Tangyu was overcome with excitement, a white shadow flashed past. His heart jumped in alarm, and he abruptly drew his sword, cleaving down hard at the white figure.
CLANG!
The sound of metal clashing echoed through the secret chamber. Shii Tangyu was already severely injured, his cultivation diminished by seventy or eighty percent. The impact sent him staggering back several dozen feet, and the Bamboo Scroll in his hand vanished.
"Wen Qingye!" A vicious glint appeared in Shii Tangyu’s eyes as he saw the newcomer.
That’s right, the person who had arrived was none other than Wen Qingye.
Without even glancing at the Bamboo Scroll in his hand, Wen Qingye put it directly into his Sumeru Ring and stared coldly at Shii Tangyu.
Seeing Wen Qingye stow away the Bamboo Scroll, Shii Tangyu’s eyes turned bloodshot. "Wen Qingye, you dare steal my things? I think you have a death wish!"
"Is that so? Do you think you’re a match for me?" Wen Qingye smiled faintly, completely unfazed by Shii Tangyu’s words.
"Hahaha! Even injured as I am, dealing with you would be like crushing an ant." Shii Tangyu threw his head back and laughed, then looked at Wen Qingye. "Do you believe me?"
"I don’t," Wen Qingye said, shaking his head.
"Then I’ll show you the gap in our Swordsmanship, the gap between a Registered Disciple and a Core Disciple!"
Shii Tangyu shouted, his footwork intricate as his golden sword shot from its sheath in a furious blur. It flew out like a bolt of cold light, its afterimages weaving into a dense net that pressed down on Wen Qingye from above.
"Competing with me in Swordsmanship?" Wen Qingye couldn’t help but laugh as he watched the flickering Sword Auras before him.
Shii Tangyu had dueled Wen Qingye in Swordsmanship the previous night and was naturally unconvinced of the outcome. He hadn’t been able to fully utilize his First Layer of the Earth Dao Swordsmanship, and now he intended to use it to defeat Wen Qingye.
The sword-net seemed to be shrouded in wisps of white mist, completely obscuring what was within. This was the unique characteristic of Cloud Conceal Peak’s Swordsmanship.
Wen Qingye remained motionless. Even as the gale-force winds whipped up his hair and Shii Tangyu’s sword closed to within five feet of him, only then did his hand move to his waist and draw the Still Water Sword.
WHOOSH!
Shii Tangyu sensed a flash of cyan light flicker before his eyes, so fast he almost didn’t register it.
He could only see the cyan light twisting and turning, like hundreds of soaring Spiritual Snakes.
In an instant, Shii Tangyu felt as though he were caught in a raging tempest, a lone, hopeless leaf tossed about in the storm.
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
Hundreds of Spiritual Snakes madly charged the sword-net. In an instant, the net shattered, dissipating into nothing but Primordial Qi. Shii Tangyu felt a jolt in his arm, and his sword was knocked from his grasp as he stumbled backward several steps.
"What kind of Swordsmanship is that?" Tang Rui, watching from the side, gasped. He had never seen anyone wield a sword with such flexibility and ingenuity.
HUMMM!
At that moment, Shii Tangyu’s mind was a complete blank; he hadn’t even begun to process what had happened.
