Enraged by Wen Qingye’s words, Jiang Wu’s face flushed crimson.

He immediately switched to a reverse grip with his left hand and flicked the sword back. A distorted blade of light streaked through the void, hurtling toward Wen Qingye. At the same time, Jiang Wu kicked off the air, flipping upside down in mid-flight, his sword endlessly unleashing a torrent of Sword Aura.

"Wind Blade!"

An innumerable torrent of Sword Aura, like a dense swarm of blades, rushed toward Wen Qingye.

Instead of retreating, Wen Qingye advanced. The One Thought Sword in his hand pulsed with golden light, radiating an infinitely sharp and ferocious aura.

"First Form of the Sword Emperor Technique! Proud Sword!"

A brilliant golden light met the countless streams of Qi Aura. The innumerable blades were shredded, dissolving into wisps of Primordial Qi. This endless sharpness was incomparably more powerful; after sweeping through the thousands of blades, it continued hurtling toward Jiang Wu.

"Wind Sword and Shield!"

Jiang Wu bellowed. His sword danced continuously, and layers of Sword Qi materialized before him, seemingly imprinted on the very air. The strands of Sword Qi reflected and linked with one another, forming a shield of incomparable Profound Mysteries.

PFFT!

The Sword Aura’s advance was halted, as if the shield had clamped down on it. Its sharp intent completely vanished, and it gradually dissipated.

Seeing Wen Qingye’s Sword Aura dissipate, Jiang Wu raised his sword and charged.

"July Killing Heart Sword Technique, First Kill!"

Primordial Qi surged from his body and poured entirely into his longsword. The blade hummed, and its Sword Qi, like a white-crested wave on a jade sea, slashed toward Wen Qingye.

WHOOSH!

Wen Qingye was, of course, incredibly familiar with the July Killing Heart Sword Technique. With a single movement of his sword, he met Jiang Wu’s Sword Qi, and the two attacks annihilated each other, vanishing into nothing.

Jiang Wu knew Wen Qingye was no ordinary opponent. His blade danced once more, thrusting out at an angle as a surge of Sword Qi continued the assault.

"July Killing Heart Sword Technique, Second Kill!"

A cold light flashed. Wen Qingye felt an icy, merciless aura surge toward him. The Sword Qi’s approach was bizarre, making it feel almost impossible to defend against.

Wen Qingye wouldn’t have feared the July Killing Heart Sword Technique even if he were unfamiliar with it, let alone now, having already witnessed it on the Qinglan Platform.

His gaze unwavering, Wen Qingye sent the One Thought Sword soaring, shattering the Sword Qi directly.

SWISH!

Jiang Wu’s figure flickered like a star in the night sky. His sword, like a venomous snake, struck swiftly, aiming to slice across Wen Qingye’s throat.

"July Killing Heart Sword Technique, Third Kill!"

It had to be said that Jiang Wu was a cut above Wang Hai; his Swordsmanship was significantly more ferocious as well.

CLANG!

Primordial Qi vibrated violently! Sparks flew in all directions!

Wen Qingye raised the One Thought Sword to block the thrust aimed at his throat. The scene was reminiscent of his fight against Wang Hai on the Qinglan Platform just days before.

"July Killing Heart Sword Technique, Fourth Kill!"

Jiang Wu’s aggressive style was even more potent than Wang Hai’s. Before he even regained his footing after retracting his blade, he thrust again, a sharp Sword Aura riding a chilling wind straight for Wen Qingye’s heart.

Every strike was lethal, holding nothing back.

"The July Killing Heart Sword Technique is truly formidable, and Jiang Wu’s execution is even more impressive."

"That was the Fourth Kill. I wonder which one will come out on top—or if one will kill the other."

"The greatest strength of the July Killing Heart Sword Technique is its seamless flow. One strike follows another, its killing intent thick in the air. The power is heaven-shaking, continuous, and unending."

SHINK SHINK SHINK...

The One Thought Sword in Wen Qingye’s hand moved like a phantom. With a stroke of genius, he blocked the tip of the blade aimed at his heart. Then, with a twist of his own sword, he forced Jiang Wu to retreat hastily.

’No, I can’t give him a chance to breathe,’ Jiang Wu’s thoughts raced. ’This Wen Qingye is ridiculously strong. I have to finish him right now.’ His mind made up, he charged toward Wen Qingye once more.

"July Killing Heart Sword Technique, Fifth Kill!"

With this strike, Jiang Wu pushed his power to its absolute limit. His body moved like wind and lightning, and his sword transformed into a brilliant streak of light as he lunged at Wen Qingye.

Seeing the strike coming, Wen Qingye tightened his grip on his sword.

VMMMM!

A clear, crisp sound emanated from the Sword Body, resonating to the very heavens.

Shimmering golden light bathed Wen Qingye, making him appear even more majestic and domineering.

"Third Form of the Sword Emperor Technique! Shaking Mountains and Rivers!"

A clear, solemn sound reverberated outward, and with it emanated the aura of an Emperor.

Relying on his formidable physique, Wen Qingye charged forward, his Sword Aura spinning at high speed through the air.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A series of explosions, as loud as a mountain collapsing into a roaring tsunami, ripped through the area. The massive trees in the surrounding forest snapped and fell one after another, and a thick cloud of dust and smoke blinded the onlookers.

The crowd stared anxiously into the thick cloud of dust, not daring to blink.

Tu Bai nodded to himself and said, "What a powerful Sword Technique, and what a decisive will. This Wen Qingye is quite the character."

"The Sword Emperor Technique... just what kind of Martial Arts is that?" Fangg Xin frowned as he watched Wen Qingye.

The Ring Spirit’s eyes darted. "This Wen Qingye is no simple character."

Ruan Ying couldn’t help but sneer. "No matter what, after charging into the epicenter of such a powerful explosion, even if he isn’t dead, he must be gravely injured."

Liu Jingwen’s heart clenched in her chest. ’If I had known this would happen, I never should have gotten involved,’ she thought in anguish. ’If Wen Qingye is killed because of this, I’ll never forgive myself.’

「After a long while, the dust settled.」

A lone figure stood proudly against the wind, his sword pointing forward. Before him, a man lay on the ground, his face a mask of disbelief. His chest was torn open, revealing a Jian Henx so deep that the bone was visible.

One look was all it took for the crowd to know who had won.

Fang Yu said in stunned amazement, "Brother Wen is getting stronger and stronger."

Coming to his senses, Jiang Wu looked up at Wen Qingye and said calmly, "Wen Qingye, can you spare my life?"

Jiang Wu didn’t want to die. He was a prodigy of his generation with a limitless future ahead of him. He didn’t want his life to end so abruptly.

"If our positions were reversed—if I were the one on the ground and you were standing here—would you spare me?" Wen Qingye asked with a small smile, looking down at Jiang Wu.

"I would," Jiang Wu said with grave sincerity, nodding his head.

"Hahahaha!" Hearing this, Wen Qingye threw his head back and laughed. "A pity, then. Because I won’t."

Jiang Wu’s face contorted with anger. "You...!"

"A disciple of Taiyi Pavilion... are you sure you want to kill him?" Suddenly, Liang Qing, who was standing behind them, couldn’t help but scoff. "I don’t believe you have the guts."

Liang Qing knew firsthand how overbearing the Taiyi Pavilion could be. He didn’t believe Wen Qingye would dare kill Jiang Wu and provoke them. After all, Wang Hai and Jiang Wu held vastly different statuses within the Pavilion.
