Myriad Dragon Divine Sovereign

Chapter 420: A 2-Person Scramble

Lu Shaoyou’s eyes were exceptionally sharp. When he saw that Wen Qingye had drawn his name, he was taken aback. "Me?"

Zhang Chong couldn’t help but laugh. "This Wen Qingye is just too unlucky. I originally thought drawing me was his bad luck, but I never expected him to draw Senior Brother Lu."

Hearing Zhang Chong’s words, Lu Shaoyou’s lips curled into a smirk, unable to conceal his smug satisfaction. He then walked lightly, step by step, toward the center of the Three Pristine Platform.

"Brother Qii, I never thought Wen Qingye would draw Lu Shaoyou," Situ Yun said with a frown.

Qii Yue shook his head and smiled. "Indeed, it’s quite a surprise. But with Wen Qingye’s strength, it’s not like he has no chance."

Although Qii Yue said as much, his tone was tinged with regret. He was keenly aware of Lu Shaoyou’s talent and power.

Seeing Lu Shaoyou walk up, the Main Peak Elder took a small step back.

Lu Shaoyou walked to stand opposite Wen Qingye. He held his sword horizontally across his chest and looked at him. "What a pity. This time, you’ve run into me."

Wen Qingye’s dark pupils remained unchanged. "Is that so?" he said coolly.

"I hear your Sword Dao is quite impressive. I’ve been eager to see it for myself."

"Then please, enlighten me," Wen Qingye replied with a small smile.

"Then I’ll be happy to teach you a lesson!"

With a loud roar, Lu Shaoyou charged toward Wen Qingye. He moved with incredible speed; the surrounding crowd could only perceive a blur of crisscrossing black shadows and the sharp, cold glint of his blade.

Suddenly, Wen Qingye looked up. The sky seemed to darken as if veiled by something, and the myriad stars transformed into a swarm of dancing Sword Auras.

But standing beneath the darkened sky, Wen Qingye’s black eyes remained as placid as still water, without a single ripple of change.

"Star Dance Chaos!"

Multiple images of Lu Shaoyou seemed to charge from all directions, the Sword Auras from their blades spreading out endlessly with their movements.

Boundless, overwhelming!

A chill ran through the hearts of everyone surrounding the Three Pristine Platform.

Azure Wave!

A glint of cold light flashed as the One Thought Sword left its scabbard. Swift as lightning, merciless and decisive, it stabbed toward one of the oncoming Lu Shaoyou clones.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The sparks in the night were dazzling, and the sound of metal striking metal was exceptionally jarring.

Lu Shaoyou’s true form was revealed as the surrounding shadows dissipated.

Seeing this, Qii Yue couldn’t help but clap and exclaim, "Such sharp eyes! So decisive!"

But at that moment, Lu Shaoyou’s lips twisted into a cold smirk. "Wen Qingye, do you think you’ve broken my swordsmanship? It’s not over yet."

Just then, the stars in the sky seemed to flare, transforming into swift arcs of light that shot toward Wen Qingye.

’You think you can teach me about swordsmanship?’

Wen Qingye watched the streaks of starlight fly toward him, making no move to dodge, his eyes perfectly still.

BOOM!

It happened in a flash. Just as the starlight was about to strike Wen Qingye, it seemed to be brought to a halt. A golden Sword Aura erupted, soaring toward the heavens. For an instant, time itself seemed to freeze. Then, with a deafening roar, the entire darkened sky shattered and the star-filled expanse vanished along with it.

"Pfft!"

Lu Shaoyou spat out a mouthful of dark blood and stumbled backward.

SWISH!

With a single flourish, Wen Qingye’s sword returned to its scabbard. From beginning to end, he had not moved a single step!

Was it over!?

The crowd exchanged glances, their shock on full display.

By comparison, Wen Qingye was breathtakingly powerful. Just how strong was he? Was defeating Lu Shaoyou with a single sword strike his limit? Not a single person could fathom the true depths of Wen Qingye’s ability.

The exchange, as brief as a flash of lightning, was over in an instant. The crowd hadn’t had time to react. In what felt like a single moment, Lu Shaoyou had been defeated—utterly and completely.

"So, this is Wen Qingye’s true power?" Jin Ming said, watching Wen Qingye with a wry smile.

Duan Hui murmured, "So strong... I don’t even understand how Lu Shaoyou lost."

Zhang Chong stared at Wen Qingye and swallowed hard, rendered completely speechless.

Situ Yun watched Wen Qingye, then shot to her feet. "Brother Qii," she said, unable to restrain herself, "how about letting this Wen Qingye join my Purple Bamboo Peak?"

Qii Yue acted as if he hadn’t heard her at all, his eyes gleaming as he stared at Wen Qingye. "This Wen Qingye is a genius of swordsmanship! I didn’t even see how he found the opening in Lu Shaoyou’s technique. He’s practically tailor-made for my Cloud Conceal Peak! No, this Wen Qingye must—he absolutely must—join my Cloud Conceal Peak!"

The stewards from the other four peaks exchanged wry smiles. Only the Steward from Life Peak watched with detached interest, as if the matter didn’t concern him. He knew full well that any disciple who displayed extraordinary talent would be fought over. Life Peak only ever received the disciples that the other peaks had passed over. That was why he’d come today, and why he wasn’t particularly invested in the outcome.

Unable to contain his excitement, Qii Yue looked at Wen Qingye on the platform and shouted, "Wen Qingye, join my Cloud Conceal Peak, and I will take you as my personal disciple!"

Not to be outdone, Situ Yun declared, "No, come to my Purple Bamboo Peak! I’ll make you a True Disciple right away!"

"Junior Sister Situ, Wen Qingye is a practitioner of the Sword Dao. By joining my Cloud Conceal Peak, his talents will be put to their best use."

"Says who? The swordsmanship of my Purple Bamboo Peak is also exceptional! Don’t forget, the Purple Bamboo Sword Technique is an Emperor-grade High-level Martial Art!"

"Well, my Cloud Conceal Peak has a Spirit-grade Sword Skill Martial Art!"

...

Yann Xiangyang watched, stunned, as Situ Yun and Qii Yue continued to squabble.

When had anyone ever witnessed such a scene? Watching the two become flustered and angry, the crowd was dumbstruck, as if turned to stone.

Was this truly Situ Yun, the Peak Master of Purple Bamboo Peak who had stunned the Seven Peaks?

Was this the same Qii Yue who had annihilated Xiang Mountain with a single sword strike?

Everyone found it unbelievable, beyond anything they could have imagined.

Qin Wuya watched the two of them squabble and chuckled to himself. ’Wen Qingye has already decided to join Life Peak. All this fighting is completely pointless.’

Noticing the stares of the many disciples, Situ Yun was the first to relent. "Alright, alright, we shouldn’t fight over this. Let’s have Wen Qingye decide for himself."

Situ Yun fixed her eyes on Wen Qingye, a smile playing on her lips. "Make your own decision. Will it be my Purple Bamboo Peak, or Cloud Conceal Peak?"

Qii Yue said no more, his gaze also falling upon Wen Qingye.

Wen Qingye’s lips parted, but before he could speak, two figures descended from the sky, their arrival heralded by a sharp cry.

"Wen Qingye’s meridians are completely destroyed! He’ll be dead within a few years, without a doubt. Are you sure you still want to take him in?"

Two figures landed beside Qii Yue and Situ Yun.

The newcomers were none other than Chuu Qi, the Peak Master of Danxuan Peak, and Hua Lie, the Peak Master of Absolute Peak. The one who had just spoken was Hua Lie.

"What?" Hearing Hua Lie’s words, Situ Yun couldn’t help but cry out in alarm. "Senior Brother Hua, what do you mean by that? How could Wen Qingye’s meridians possibly be destroyed?"
