Chapter 447 - 457: Taking 2 Palm Strikes

For a moment, the gazes of the various peak Elders drifted. Their minds raced, each lost in their own thoughts.

Upon hearing Hua Du’s words, Elder Huu’s gaze fell upon Wen Qingye.

"So you’re the recently famous Wen Qingye?" Elder Huu asked, his voice low.

Wen Qingye smiled faintly and gave an unconcerned nod. "That’s right. I am Wen Qingye."

Elder Huu’s face darkened as he stared at Wen Qingye. "Why did you injure a disciple of my Absolute Peak? Fighting amongst ourselves is a grave taboo in the Celestial Profound Sect. Are you aware of that?"

Wen Qingye glanced at Hua Du. "You’ll have to ask your own Absolute Peak disciple about that."

A sharp glint appeared in Elder Huu’s eyes. He roared, "How audacious! Do you know who I am? How dare you speak to me in such a manner?"

As he spoke, Elder Huu’s aura surged, growing so tangible it felt like a physical weight pressing down heavily upon Wen Qingye.

CREAK! CRACK!

The sickening sound of bones cracking came from Wen Qingye’s knees. The sharp noise sent a chill through everyone’s hearts and set their teeth on edge.

Everyone knew exactly what was happening.

But when they saw Wen Qingye standing there, still calm and expressionless, it was as if a dagger had pierced their hearts. They were utterly stunned.

Seeing this, Mo Qing covered her mouth with her hand, staring in astonishment at Wen Qingye, who hadn’t even flinched.

"What’s this? Is an Elder of Absolute Peak going to attack a disciple?" Wen Qingye asked Elder Huu calmly.

Elder Huu replied with a cool tone, "How long have you been a Core Disciple? Yet you already treat your sect brothers this way? Will you be slaughtering them indiscriminately next? Will you eventually hold a butcher’s knife to our necks as well?"

Wen Qingye couldn’t help but let out a snort of laughter. "Elder Huu, you certainly have a wild imagination."

Elder Huu shook his head. "This isn’t my imagination. This is me taking preventative measures, foreseeing what’s to come."

"Then what do you propose to do about it?" Wen Qingye asked, his smile never leaving his face.

Elder Huu considered Wen Qingye for a moment before saying, "Seeing as this is your first offense, and not a major one at that, I’ll give you a light punishment. Go to the Ancestral Hall and reflect for three months."

"The Ancestral Hall?"

The surrounding crowd was stunned when they heard Elder Huu’s words.

The Ancestral Hall had always been the most sacred place in the entire Celestial Profound Sect. It was where the heroic Spirits of the sect’s past Ancestral Masters resided. The spiritual pressure inside was incredibly intense. A prolonged stay would cause severe damage to one’s Primordial Spirit; even experts of the Life and Death Realm didn’t dare to remain there for long.

Moreover, the Primordial Qi inside was thin, making cultivation nearly impossible. Even with Primordial Stones or other Exotic Treasures, one could not cultivate there.

Typically, only disciples of the Celestial Profound Sect who committed the most grievous errors were imprisoned in the Ancestral Hall. Elder Huu’s proposal was nothing short of venomous—he clearly wanted to cripple Wen Qingye, if not kill him.

Though Wen Qingye didn’t know what the Ancestral Hall entailed, he could tell from the crowd’s reaction that it was definitely not a good place.

Elder Liuu of Forget-Life Peak frowned slightly and took a step forward. "Surely what Wen Qingye did wasn’t so serious as to warrant this? In my opinion, a light reprimand should suffice."

Elder Huu looked displeased and waved a dismissive hand. "Elder Liuu, I think you’re well aware of who Wen Qingye injured. Maiming a fellow disciple is a clear violation of the sect rules. I am the one making the judgment here. If our Peak Master were to come, you know full well what Wen Qingye’s fate would be."

Elder Liuu’s mouth opened as if to speak, but at the thought of Hua Lie, he fell silent. Several other Elders nearby also looked as if they wanted to say something but held their tongues.

Elder Huaa watched from the side, remaining completely still, showing no intention of speaking up.

Her seniority was the highest among all present; even the Elders of the other six peaks had to respectfully address her as Martial Uncle Huaa. A single word from her could have de-escalated the situation, but she remained silent.

Wen Qingye stared straight at Elder Huu. "Elder Huu, isn’t there a Law Enforcement Team on the Main Peak? It seems to me you have no authority to pass judgment on me."

"I forgot to mention," Elder Huu sneered, "I used to be part of the Main Peak’s Law Enforcement Team."

Wen Qingye didn’t back down an inch. "But you aren’t anymore, are you?"

Elder Huu’s eyes were sharp as daggers. "Even if I’m not, I can still apprehend you and deliver you to the Law Enforcement Team. Any member of the Celestial Profound Sect has the right to act against someone who violates its rules."

Wen Qingye threw his head back and laughed. "I broke the sect rules? HAHAHAHA! Do you have any idea? Listening to the words of a petty villain, ignoring the facts, and framing me—that is also a violation of the sect rules! Do you have any idea? Attacking a disciple without any proof, using your status as an Elder—that is also a violation of the sect rules! Do you have any idea that as an Elder—"

"Enough!" Elder Huu roared, cutting Wen Qingye off. Every one of Wen Qingye’s words was a sharp, pointed truth that struck his Heart Spirit. He knew he couldn’t let him continue speaking.

"Very well. I am an Elder of Absolute Peak, and you injured one of my Absolute Peak disciples. Wen Qingye, if you can take two of my palm strikes and remain undefeated, I will drop this matter entirely. How about it?"

"Enough talk. If you’re going to make a move, then do it."

Wen Qingye flourished his sword, its blade glinting with a cold, shimmering light, like ripples on a jade-green pond.

"I’ll give you a chance, then."

Sneering at Wen Qingye, Elder Huu began to draw power. The Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi in the area fell into chaos, and astonishing streams of it surged madly toward him as if drawn by some irresistible force.

WHOOSH!

Across the entire Three Pristine Platform, it was as if powerful Gang Winds were being stirred up. However, these gales were formed from condensed Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi, making them look dazzlingly beautiful. Countless streams of Primordial Qi coiled around Elder Huu, causing his aura and presence to soar to their absolute peak.

Everyone watching, whether Elder or disciple, was stunned. ’Is Elder Huu really going to attack?’

Wen Qingye frowned, his eyes, calm as still water, fixed on Elder Huu.

The Ice Python flickered its tongue and spoke from within Wen Qingye’s Sea of Consciousness, "Should I intervene? This old man is at the Life and Death Realm Second Layer, but I’m not afraid of him."

"No need," Wen Qingye replied calmly. "I want to test the power of the Life and Death Realm for myself."

’Elder Huu’s cultivation is a notch below Lim Tian’s, and his true combat strength is who knows how much weaker,’ Wen Qingye thought. He wanted to use this as a test. If he truly couldn’t withstand the attack, he would naturally let the Ice Python intervene.

THUD!

Elder Huu slowly took a single step. The sound was faint, yet it caused the pupils of countless onlookers to contract. He raised his hand, and in the next moment, his withered, ancient palm began to glow with a cyan light.

HUMMM!

Innumerable streams of Primordial Qi surged into Elder Huu’s arm, all converging on his now-cyan hand. Then, from that cyan hand, a heaven-shaking roar erupted.
