Divine Realm.

To cultivate a method to the Divine realm was far beyond the realm of possibility for the ordinary person, Xun Wei should’ve felt the same way, but with how much power was flowing from her body, reaching the Divine Realm so quickly fell within her expectations.

This power wasn’t something she gained from hard work, but what was unleashed from awakening her Soul Tempering Body.

Her cultivation continued to climb the more souls she refined and devoured. But then the familiar brickwall bottleneck returned the moment she reached the 9th stage of the Divine Realm, only this one felt far more formidable. However, strangely, Xun Wei wasn’t intimidated by it.

In the past, the Heavenly Realm wasn’t something she had ever dreamed about achieving, but now it felt as if it was within reach, she was just scared to grab it.

For the moment, she was just grateful that Xiao Fang had given her this method to practice, it suited her special body perfectly.

Opening the book once again, she was disappointed to find that there were only 6 techniques listed there. However, one of them seemed especially useful to her at this very moment.

The Phoenix Jade Hairpin in her hair began to ignite a misty blue flame as Xun Wei studied the technique. To her surprise, comprehension came easy to her. Either she gained it from dual cultivating with Xiao Fang, or because of the Phoenix Jade hairpin, or because of her natural affinity to soul techniques, or a combination of all three.

"Let’s give it a try," she said to herself.

[ Soul Search ]

Not far away, Xiao Hei and the other 10 members of Xun Wei’s team stood at the border of the Song Clan city with blood stained robes.

Although it seemed as if they hadn’t accomplished much, the truth was that they had killed in silence, and turned the city into a graveyard.

One member wiped the edge of his blade against a torn banner and frowned.

"Strange," he said.

"What is?" one of the others asked.

"There should’ve been more of them, a lot more," he replied. "I was told that the Song Clan had tens of thousands of members. It should’ve taken us all night to kill them all."

"Killing them all would’ve been impossible anyway, their reinforcements would’ve arrived before then," another said.

Before anyone could respond, a faint breeze swept across the courtyard.

Then like a ghost, Xun Wei appeared.

Her figure descended silently from the sky, her robes fluttering softly as she landed before them.

Everyone present immediately felt the difference. Her aura had changed. Even Xiao Hei’s ears twitched slightly as she looked at her.

’Divine Realm... so she really has gotten stronger,’ she thought to herself.

Xun Wei simply raised a hand and pointed toward a collapsed courtyard wall.

"Below there," she said calmly. "There’s a bunker."

They all understood what she was implying.

"Wei," Xiao Hei spoke first. "Their reinforcements should be here soon. We should remain here till the next stage of Xiao Fang’s plan."

"I won’t be long. Join me if you like, but it won’t be expected of you," Xun Wei said as a strand of hair slipped from behind her ear.

Her grey eyes glowed hauntingly. As much as her team wanted to continue their killing spree, truthfully, they were scared, not of the Song army on the way, but of Xun Wei.

Xun Wei’s deathly gaze had petrified them, and her murderous aura was empty, as if killing them would be no different than taking a breath.

Suddenly, Xun Wei’s body flickered then disappeared. The moment she did, the rest of her team finally took a breath, some even collapsing to a knee.

"That girl..."

"Our captain is way too terrifying."

"I’m just glad she’s on our side."

Xiao Hei looked back at them confused. They were a bunch of killers, how could a young girl like Xun Wei intimidate strong scary men like them.

Xiao Hei shrugged then decided to follow Xun Wei. The rest of them however wanted to stay as far away from Xun Wei as they could.

Moving the collapsed rubble from the hidden gateway, Xun Wei was about to enter when Xiao Hei finally arrived.

"You’re so fast now. How did you get so strong?" Xiao Hei asked.

Xun Wei paused.

"I... don’t know... but I was able to practice the cultivation method Xiao Fang gave me straight to the peak of the Divine realm."

"To the peak?"

"Mn, 9th stage. I think if I push a little harder, I’ll soon be able to breakthrough into the Heavenly realm," she replied calmly.

However, Xiao Hei didn’t react the way she expected her to.

"You shouldn’t!"

"Huh? Why not?"

"You country bumpkins really don’t know anything do you."

Truthfully, without a heaven defying event, tool, or fruit, it would be impossible for an ordinary cultivator to become a Heavenly realm cultivator. However, Xiao Hei understood that in some rare cases, especially among cultivators with a special body or bloodline, making that breakthrough with their own efforts alone was possible.

In Xun Wei’s case, Xiao Hei speculated that she must’ve awakened her Soul Tempering special body somehow.

"Don’t you know anything about becoming a Heavenly realm cultivator?" Xiao Hei said.

Xun Wei shook her head. "Truthfully, I never thought I’d get this far."

Xiao Hei sighed. "Well, once you cross that bridge, you won’t be able to train any of your other cultivation methods that aren’t already in the Divine realm."

"So you’re saying I won’t be able to cultivate my [ Divine Sword ], [ Dual Cultivation ], or [ Illusory Body ] methods anymore?"

"Un," Xiao Hei nodded. "You can still use techniques for those methods, but you just won’t be able to increase your cultivation with those methods to learn stronger techniques in the future."

"I see." After a few moments of thinking, she eventually smiled then patted Xiao Hei on the head. "Thank you, I’m happy you told me that."

Xiao Hei blinked blankly.

Finally, Xun Wei opened the gate to the hidden bunker then walked in.

Xiao Hei was a bit surprised to hear Xun Wei thank her, but oddly she felt their bond was getting stronger.

"Yeah, sure. You can count on me." Xiao Hei acted nonchalant before happily following her in.
