Understanding the signal, Shikaku raised his voice.

After explaining the situation, Shikaku gestured toward Ren.

Feeling the gazes of everyone present, Ren showed no sign of hesitation.

"Everyone, after a full day of investigation by the Konoha Military Police Force, we have identified three urgent matters that must be addressed."

"The first concerns the children we discovered in Root's various bases."

"In total, we rescued more than a thousand children, ranging from several months old to around eleven or twelve years of age."

"Most of them were trainees being raised by Root as future operatives."

"The rest were test subjects rescued from various human experiments being conducted by Root."

"Our most immediate problem now is how to resettle these children."

The moment Ren finished speaking, the crowd erupted in shock.

The existence of Root trainees wasn't particularly surprising.

But the mention of human experimentation was something many present found difficult to accept.

Not long ago, Hiruzen Sarutobi had used accusations of human experimentation against Danzō during a previous Jōnin Council meeting, attempting to disqualify him from running for Hokage.

He paused until the crowd quieted again.

"At first, I contacted Yakushi Nono, the director of the Konoha Orphanage, intending for the orphanage to temporarily house them."

"If they were placed together with the children already living in the orphanage, serious problems could arise."

A collective gasp spread through the crowd.

Most clans present trained their children from a young age—but they also understood the principle of not overdoing it.

Before the age of twelve, a child's body had not yet fully developed.

Excessive shinobi training during this period could cause serious harm.

That was why most clans only began introducing basic shinobi skills after the age of six, gradually increasing training intensity.

Only after twelve years old would serious training begin.

Even legendary figures such as Madara Uchiha  and Hashirama Senju  were just kids who could barely throw a shuriken across the river when they were twelve.

Forcing children into extremely intense training at an early age would only result in a few rare geniuses surviving.

Most ordinary children would suffer irreversible damage to their bodies.

At best, their potential would be prematurely exhausted.

At worst, they would develop chronic injuries and die young.

Danzō's training methods treated these children not as human beings—but as disposable tools.

Ignoring the shocked reactions around him, Ren continued.

"And that's only the lesser issue."

"The truly horrifying part lies in the special training programs Root created for these children."

"They are nothing short of insane and utterly inhumane."
