At the very beginning, only individuals who consumed Forbidden Fruits could obtain supernatural power. In those days, supernatural beings were like superheroes or supervillains, clashing in one spectacular battle after another in a world dominated by ordinary humans.

But the emergence of supernatural creatures shattered that balance. Supernatural creatures effortlessly destroyed many villages. Overnight, they slaughtered and devoured thousands, even tens of thousands of people, young and old alike.

Armies were mobilized, militias were organized, yet casualties continued to mount. Humanity was no longer at the top of the pyramid, all while the number of supernatural creatures grew at an uncontrollable rate.

In just a few months, supernatural creatures could give birth to an entire litter of cubs. In just two short years, those cubs could grow into monsters impervious to blades and bullets, monsters that preyed on humans. The areas humans could access safely continued to shrink. Mountain climbing and countryside outings became extremely dangerous adventures.

It was then that the Xingtian warriors were born. A large number of armed police officers injected with the Blood of Xingtian were dispatched across the country. Wielding great axes, they fought all kinds of supernatural creatures, slaying every supernatural being who used their power for evil.

No one knew where the Xingtian Warriors came from. No one knew where they trained in ordinary times. But whenever supernatural factions invaded humans, the Xingtian Warriors would appear. They represented hope and light at the end of the tunnel.

However, to maintain this peace, one young life after another was quietly fading away. The average lifespan of a Xingtian Warrior was a mere two years. Even after death, they could fight on for humanity for another three, battling until the Xingtian blood within their veins was spent and they met their final, absolute demise.

Zhou Shaoyang was born in an era of peace provided by the Xingtian Warriors. He wanted to join the military to become a Xingtian Warrior himself. But through a twist of fate, he became a commander instead.

While a dead Xingtian Warrior could fight for three years, without a commander, that warrior was nothing more than a monster that killed indiscriminately. Therefore, from the day they became Xingtian Warriors, aside from practicing combat, these young men subjected themselves to continuous self-hypnosis and psychological programming with the aid of artifacts to establish a core behavioral directive, one that would be permanently branded into every single cell of their being.

That way, after they died, a commander could control them through specific commands, directing them to continue fighting instead of allowing them to become monsters and disasters.

There were five Xingtian Warriors under Zhou Shaoyang's command, and together, they guarded Silver City. As the person in charge of them, he knew how to command them.

"Zhang Sencheng, No. 7323, stand at attention!

"Bai Hexi, No. 6557, stand at attention!

"Gu Yuetao, No. 5244, stand at attention!

"Tang Wenhua, No. 2288, stand at attention!

"Guan Yulin, No. 6699, stand at attention!

He had learned the secret of the Xingtian Warriors only on the day he became a commander. At that moment, he had backed down a little. He was still young. He did not want to die in his prime.

However, as a commander, he could protect people's safety, and at the very least, he was very satisfied with that. The thing he did most every day was control the Xingtian Warriors through commands and have them patrol. Day after day, year after year, from the age of eighteen to twenty, it was always the same.

But the year he turned twenty-one, the Xingtian Warriors under his control stopped moving; the Blood of Xingtian within them was exhausted. The same year, he was assigned new Xingtian Warriors and took part in the Blood Sea Campaign.

In that battle, he witnessed countless Xingtian Warriors fighting without fear of death. The ones under his command were replaced batch after batch. Warriors who had already died were still fighting, refusing to stop until both body and soul were destroyed.

What shocked him the most was that several commanders he knew resolutely became Xingtian Warriors during the campaign. After fighting for less than a month, they ended up becoming soldiers under his command. They had died in battle, yet even after death, they were still fighting.

The Blood Sea Campaign lasted nine months. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers were sacrificed, and in the end, they had finally defeated the evil organization known as the Eye of the Blood.

Zhou Shaoyang had returned to Silver City with his Xingtian Warriors, some missing an arm, some missing a leg, some missing an eye, and some missing an ear. A month later, because they had consumed too much of their Blood of Xingtian during the campaign, all the Xingtian Warriors under his control died. Another half a month passed, and he applied to become an Xingtian Warrior himself.

One thing stuck in Zhou Shaoyang's mind was the situation where he had tracked down his fellow commanders in a state of absolute frenzy. He had demanded to know why they agreed to become Xingtian Warriors. Their reply was something he would never forget.

That era was harsh. Countless people were quietly offering up their young lives behind the scenes to protect the peace they had. These commanders' thinking was very simple. Their best comrades had already sacrificed themselves, and countless others were still giving their lives in battle. So, if they were the ones to sacrifice their lives first, perhaps one or two fewer people would have to die.

Now, it was his turn. He hoped that somewhere out there, some child would be spared because of his sacrifice, spared from having to sacrifice themselves, spared from having to fight.

Back in the present, the battle was still raging. The Xingtian Zombie King forced Yu Lie back with a swing of its axe. The next instant, it punched Cheng Caitian, sending him flying.

Cheng Caitian crashed into the ground, instantly creating a huge crater. He spat out a mouthful of blood and hurriedly slapped his right hand against the ground. There was no time to catch his breath. He flipped through the air just as the Xingtian Zombie King's axe came down by the narrowest of margins, splitting the crater in two.

After dodging the attack, Cheng Caitian rolled to the zombie's right side. However, the zombie immediately followed through with a flexible kick, sending Cheng Caitian flying again before he even landed.

From afar, Hua Qiang roared and let loose streak after streak of chilling light. “The Lunar Bow of the High Heavens, a single arrow to weigh down the Nine Skies!”

The Xingtian Zombie King, which had originally intended to pursue Cheng Caitian, immediately dodged at high speed. Dense volleys of arrows rained down, turning the ground into a glacier in the blink of an eye.

Hua Qiang drew the longbow into the shape of a full moon, then fired another arrow. "I shall seize the moon above and bend it into a bow!"

But this time, the Xingtian Zombie King was ready for the attack. With a single swing of its axe, it cleaved the arrow apart and rushed straight through the terrifying white flames. Closing the distance in a matter of steps, almost as if it had teleported, it appeared right before Hua Qiang, bringing its axe down in a devastating overhead chop.

A beam of golden light shot toward the Xingtian Zombie King, attempting to relieve the pressure on Hua Qiang, but the zombie seemed to have anticipated this intervention. It spun itself with terrifying agility, circling from Hua Qiang's front to his back, while the momentum of its axe did not diminish in the slightest.

Not good! Yu Lie had not expected the Xingtian Zombie King to have been guarding against his Heavenly Eye this entire time.

At that moment, high above, Yu Xian suddenly opened his eyes. Seeing the current situation, he roared, "Zhou Shaoyang, No. 7623, stand at attention!"

Considering the speed of sound, his voice could not catch up with the Xingtian Zombie King's movements. Fortunately, however, one of his bubbles was hidden inside Hua Qiang's ear. Through the bubble, his voice directly reached the Xingtian Zombie King's ears.

The axe stopped only one centimeter above Hua Qiang's head, but the blast of air still cut open his scalp, sending blood running down from the top of his head.

The Xingtian Zombie King's eyes trembled wildly. It shook from the force of the resistance it felt from inside. No matter how hard it struggled, it could not move. Then, against the zombie's will, its body began to move. It slowly raised its head, squared its chest, and stood perfectly straight.

This was no incantation. It was an immutable steel conviction, an unyielding pledge to follow orders and fight to the end for their nation and for their people.

Zhou Shaoyang, No. 7623, was standing at attention!
