Nine Star Hegemon Body Arts
Chapter 7219 Iceflame, Ironmace, Silverfrost, BrighteyeLong Chen raised his hand. The starry spear flew back to him. Its stars flashed at the same rhythm as his starry sea.
Finally, the Starry River God Extinguishing Spear has fully merged with this spear. It’s simply incredible! Long Chen was delighted inside. With the aid of the nine-leaf golden lotus, he had managed to inscribe this divine technique onto the divine weapon. This was not something uncommon, but he’d never attempted it before.
Now that he had succeeded, he was able to unleash this attack instantaneously, with just a thought. Moreover, it was the core power of a divine weapon controlled using a divine technique. Although it was not as powerful as when Long Chen activated the starry spear with all his might, it had at least thirty percent of that power, and the fact that it could be used in a flash made it invaluable.
“Long Chen!”
The void twisted, and an elder appeared from the remains of the battleship. Terrifying Sovereign might erupted along with the aura of the Grand Dao. He was another powerful half-step Heavenly Sovereign, and the only survivor on the battleship. It appeared that he had some kind of defense that activated automatically, even when he was caught off guard.
But although he was alive, his aura was fluctuating badly, and he was full of blood. He was clearly seriously injured. And in spite of that, he seemed to go crazy at the sight of Long Chen. He rapidly formed hand seals, and the Grand Dao qi around him turned into a raging flame.
Just as everyone was shocked by his appearance, his head suddenly flew into the air and was caught by a large hand.
“Who taught you to start casting a long technique without any thought as to what your target would do?” scoffed Long Chen.
At that moment, everyone stared at Long Chen in shock. Their gazes shifted from his face to the head in his hand. They had heard rumors of Long Chen’s terrifying power and domineering methods, but they certainly hadn’t thought that he had reached the level where he could slaughter half-step Heavenly Sovereigns with a wave of his hand.
Half-step Heavenly Sovereigns were experts that the majority of sects dreamed of obtaining. Most sects’ strongest experts had barely touched the threshold, and they were unable to even take that half a step. Yet Long Chen had effortlessly dealt a severe injury to one such powerhouse, then cut his head off with just a casual move.
Long Chen’s attacks were so fast that they couldn’t even see anything. In fact, they hadn’t even seen what kind of weapon Long Chen had used. He was entirely correct, however; that elder truly did deserve his death. For him to just sit there accumulating power in front of Long Chen, was he not asking for death? People guessed that his soul had been damaged and he had lost his wits as a result. That had to be why he would be so stupid.
In any case, personally seeing a half-step Heavenly Sovereign be slain before them was still a shocking thing that would affect them for the rest of their lives.
“I am no saint, and I wouldn’t say that I have a big heart, so if you want to provoke me, you should think about whether or not you can handle the consequences,” said Long Chen, sending that half-step Heavenly Sovereign’s head flying with a wave of his hand.
The elder’s head and his body fell to the ground at the same time. The thud they made wasn’t particularly loud in and of itself, but in this silence, it might as well have been a roaring thunder.
“Lord Long Chen... is a bit...” whispered a woman behind Miao Yin in a quivering voice. Her face was beautiful enough to make a fire ignite in any man, but also cold enough to cover a land in frost.
She was one of Miao Yin’s four generals, and among them, she was the one that had followed Miao Yin the longest. She was used to Miao Yin’s cautious style of acting, not Long Chen’s domineering attitude, so naturally, she was getting worried. This was clearly a display of might, and a challenge towards countless powerful forces. Every single one of the heavenly geniuses here was a mountain of arrogance. Was Long Chen not essentially asking them to challenge him?
Miao Yin smiled slightly in response. “If you don’t make them fear you from the very start, you’ll only get more challengers, and they’ll only get more shameless. If you’re going to have to fight them sooner or later, why not do it sooner and get it over with? Do you really need to hold back until they touch your bottom line?”
That woman was surprised. It seemed that in just a few short days, her mistress had also greatly changed.
“In my opinion, Lord Long Chen is a true king! Who cares about them? If any of them dare to even act arrogant, I’ll show them who’s the boss here!” said another woman excitedly.
If someone heard her voice without actually seeing her, they would have certainly thought it was coming from a lively teenage maiden. In fact, the speaker was far taller than Long Chen, as well as more muscular. Her arms alone were almost as thick as a normal woman’s waist. There were black chains wrapped around her arms and waist, and all in all, she looked much like a wild dragon compressed into human form. However, she kept her hair in two short pigtails.
She was gazing at Long Chen worshipfully—clearly, she very much enjoyed Long Chen’s manner of doing things. In fact, if she had a chance, her friends didn’t doubt that she would directly join Long Chen. That gaze in her eyes was practically fanatical.
She was the strongest of Miao Yin’s four generals, but she had a temper and didn’t think before acting, so Miao Yin made sure to always keep her beside someone who could keep her temper reined in.
“Hey, little sister Ironmace, you have to cool off a bit. Retract your Blood Qi, or you’re going to start burning,” said another one of the generals.
Perhaps due to her excitement, that muscular woman’s Blood Qi was actually burning without her being aware of it. It was putting a great deal of pressure on the people around her.
Miao Yin smiled. The icy woman was called Iceflame, while the muscular woman was called Ironmace. Ironmace no longer even remembered her original name; she liked this nickname so much that she only went by Ironmace now.
The one to stop Ironmace was called Silverfrost. She was a sword cultivator, and was a ruthless figure in possession of both brains and guts. While Miao Yin wasn’t present, she was the one in charge, and although she was not quite as powerful as Ironmace, the latter still respected her greatly.
The fourth general had remained silent all this time. Her emerald eyes were locked on the battlefield. Light flickered in her eyes, and she looked fully focused, as if she was calculating something.
Her name was Brighteye. She was not just powerful, but also possessed a pair of Grand Dao Heavenly Eyes.
Her family was... blind, for lack of a better word, and didn’t understand just what kind of talent she had been born with. Because she was the daughter of a concubine rather than an official wife, she was ostracized from birth, and even when she joined Miao Yin’s side, nobody cared much.
Her perceptiveness was simply frightening. She was able to see through a person’s strengths and weaknesses with just a glance, and she was instantly able to find the most optimal way of dealing with an opponent. However, even Miao Yin had been unable to fully awaken her Grand Dao Heavenly Eyes. She had been afraid of making a rash move and leaving much of her potential untapped forever.
After meeting Long Chen, however, that suddenly became a non-issue. His pills managed to perfectly awaken Brighteye’s talent.
Brighteye suddenly broke her silence. “Mistress, change of plans. Get ready for battle!”
