Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Bee Queen Company.
In the sultry afternoon heat of the world, I return home.
Suddenly, a glowing blue virtual screen floats right before my eyes with mystical scrolling text.
System.
The system is currently upgrading. Therefore, you will be summoned back to Earth.
Hearing the notification, I cannot help but pause for a moment, a mix of surprise and curiosity rising within my heart. I silently think, was the time in the other world not enough that now I am being dragged back here?
"So, will there be any new updates?" I ask, my voice echoing inside the empty car cabin.
[More stimulating scenarios.] The system replies concisely.
Hearing this, a faint smile suddenly blooms on my lips. "Hmph, interesting."
In the blink of an eye, when my vision clears again, I realize I am standing right in the living room of the apartment.
Everything remains exactly as it was before I left, without a single change.
I leisurely walk into the house, leaning back onto the comfortable sofa and ordering some light snacks. Picking up a fork, I sigh and mutter: "So boring."
Right at that moment, the phone placed on the table suddenly vibrates continuously, notifications ringing incessantly without stop. I glance at the screen, my eyebrow raising slightly. A huge sum of money has just been transferred to my personal account. It turns out the money I invested earlier has multiplied rapidly thanks to the unexpected breakthrough of the companies.
They are growing at rocket speed.
"How can they not lose money? I have an infinite black card in my hand, what use is adding more money here anyway?" I click my tongue, feeling annoyed rather than joyful.
Glancing down at the notification list, a series of messages from business owners and major corporate executives pop up densely. Most of them are meeting invitations after they received massive investment funding from me.
"Huh? Quite interesting, so should I meet them?" I ask myself, then quickly shake my head. "Sounds way too time-consuming."
An idea suddenly flashes through my mind. I tap a few times on my phone, transferring a large sum of money to a supplementary card to prepare for the next plan.
I open the messaging app, typing a few words to Glow: *"Hey? Can you help me find a secretary?"*
After that, I scroll through the list of companies that have received my investment capital.
My gaze stops at a potential film studio. According to the plan, they are about to release a feature film predicted to cause a box office sensation.
"Choose that one." I mutter.
I directly message the representative of the film company named Bee Queen.
*[Me]: Oh, I’m free on Friday.*
The other side responds at lightning speed, their tone full of reverence and joy:
*[Bee Queen]: That’s great, thank you! Let’s meet at the café by the city riverbank.*
*[Me]: Okay.*
I toss the phone onto the table, crossing my legs lazily, watching the maids bustling about their work with a chuckle. This mansion is too large; even with plenty of staff, a thorough cleaning takes nearly a full day to finish.
Time flies, and Friday arrives in no time.
I dress in comfortable attire, leisurely walking into the luxurious riverside café and heading straight to table number 10 located in a breezy, secluded corner.
Waiting there is a middle-aged man dressed in a neat suit. When he sees me approaching, his eyes widen in astonishment, clearly not expecting the major shareholder to be so young.
"Hello, I am Hugo." I take the initiative to speak.
The man quickly stands up, firmly shaking my hand to greet me.
"Hello, I am the CEO of Bee Queen. My name is Asot."
"Hello, I am Hugo." I repeat, calmly sitting down in the chair.
Asot quickly regains his composure, sitting opposite me and getting straight to the point with a somewhat reserved smile:
"I want to discuss some matters with you regarding the upcoming film project."
I casually pick up the glass of water on the table, drink half of it, and slam it back down, my cold gaze locking directly onto the person opposite:
"Is it about money?" I attack his psychology directly without beating around the bush.
Asot forces a awkward smile, sweat beading on his forehead:
"Haha, that’s right, sir. You invested 100 million dollars in us, and right now you also hold half of the company’s shares..."
"Is that why you think I will continue investing money here?" I coldly interrupt Asot’s unfinished sentence, choking him so he cannot utter another word.
Asot nervously rubs his hands together, his eyes dodging my scrutiny:
"Haha..."
I can easily guess the scheme in his mind. Asot wants to sign an official contract so I become a major shareholder, thereby legitimately injecting more money into his film project.
I lean back against the chair, speaking lazily:
"Currently, I hold 50% of the shares nominally and there are no binding contracts yet. Now, I want to raise that stake to 55%, in exchange I will fully sponsor any project of the company. That is my only offer."
Hearing the number 55% shares along with the promise of full sponsorship, Asot swallows hard. Bursting excitement makes him nod in agreement immediately without a moment of hesitation:
"Yes! If so, nothing could be better, I agree!"
Without wasting another second, I take a pen and sign the pre-prepared contract on the table. Asot carefully tucks a copy into his leather briefcase, and I take mine back as well.
I leisurely unlock my phone screen, performing a few actions to directly transfer one billion dollars. The sound of a successful transaction notification rings brightly in the quiet space.
Asot’s eyes widen to the maximum, staring fixedly at the phone screen and then looking at me. He rubs his eyes several times thinking he is hallucinating in dizziness from the huge amount of money just displayed.
"That’s the filmmaking budget, I don’t have time to haggle with you anymore."
With that, I stand up sharply, turning around and walking away decisively.
"Yes! Thank you, sir, thank you so much!" Asot shouts, stumbling as he runs after my back.
Right near the exit, he suddenly lowers his voice, smiling flatteringly:
"By the way... Are you married yet? If not, I can introduce my daughter for you to know..."
Without turning back, I simply raise one hand to cut off that flattering remark:
"That won’t be necessary. But... I think a few female actors in the film crew should proactively come see me instead."
Asot’s eyes widen once more. It takes only a few seconds for a CEO’s sharp mind to grasp the hidden meaning behind my words.
"Haha, I understand, I understand! I’ll make proper arrangements for you, sir!" Asot laughs loudly with ulterior motives.
If things progress in this direction, finding and approaching beautiful women will become easier than ever. However, the most important thing right now is still the stimulation level of the challenges; the more dramatic and risky they are, the greater the points received upon completing the mission.
When the car speeds back to the spacious grounds of the mansion, as soon as I step out of the car, I immediately dial Asot.
"Hello? I will send my personal secretary to your company. That person will directly manage everything on my behalf."
Asot’s voice from the other end replies with utmost reverence and flattery: *"Yes sir, I understand!"*
Now, never mind a secretary, if he were told to call me dad he would probably be ready to do it immediately.
Right at that moment, Glow’s sports car brakes suddenly, stopping right in front of my main door. I stand on the second-floor hallway looking down, waving my hand as a signal.
"Hey! Come up here!"
Glow looks up, raising a hand in agreement:
"Ok, wait a second!"
He walks hurriedly up the stairs, asking curiously as he walks:
"What kind of trick are you pulling that you suddenly demand to find a secretary?"
I leisurely lean against the balcony railing, my eyes fixed on my best friend:
"I was so bored at home that I casually bought shares in a filmmaking company. Now I hold a dominant 55% stake in power there."
Hearing this, Glow is utterly shocked, his eyes flashing with excitement:
"Really? Which company? Is the movie any good?"
"It’s Bee Queen." I reply calmly.
Glow pauses for a beat, as if just remembering something important:
"Ah! The other day I just watched the trailer of their new movie. The graphics are truly top-notch!"
He chuckles, continuing: *"As for the secretary, I already found one for you. They’ll probably arrange work and come start tomorrow. I just dropped by to say hi."*
Seeing Glow’s somewhat awkward attitude and strange demeanor at this moment, I narrow my eyes suspiciously.
"Just like that? You’ve been talking all weirdly this whole time. Are you hiding something from me?"
Glow jumps in surprise, guiltily swallowing hard under my sharp gaze:
"How... how do you know?"
I sigh, crossing my arms across my chest: "Looking at that guilty expression of yours is enough to understand."
Realizing he can’t hide it any longer, Glow sighs helplessly and confesses the truth:
"Today I had another huge fight with the old man at home, and then my girlfriend just demanded to break up... Now I’m sick of life and don’t know what to do with it anymore."
I look at him for a few seconds, without saying a word, directly unlocking my phone and immediately transferring 100 million dollars into Glow’s account.
"Take it, do whatever startup you like so you’re not annoyed."
Glow stares at the massive balance notification just popping up on the phone screen, his mouth hanging wide open in disbelief. He screams in joy, rushing forward to hug me, but is quickly and coldly kicked flying away by me.
