Stella stepped into her penthouse and locked the door behind her with a sharp turn of the wrist.

The moment the lock clicked, the carefully maintained composure she had worn on the drive home fractured. She yanked the face cap off and threw it onto the nearest chair. It bounced once and fell to the floor. She stood in the middle of the living room, still in the same short black dress, and dragged both hands through her hair hard enough to hurt.

"What the hell did I just do?"

The words came out low and furious, aimed at no one but herself.

She had snuck out. No driver. No PA. No security detail. She had taken one of the private cars herself, covered her face, and driven across the city to walk into another woman’s house like a common affair. She had stripped. She had let a man she barely knew put his mouth on her, his fingers inside her, and then she had climbed on top of him and ridden him until he came deep inside her.

No protection.

The realisation hit again, colder the second time. Stella walked straight into the bathroom, turned on the bathtub taps, and stripped out of the black dress with sharp, irritated movements. She stepped into the hot water and sank down until it reached her shoulders. For a moment she simply sat there, eyes closed, letting the heat try to loosen the tight knot in her stomach.

Then she slid one hand between her legs.

Her fingers brushed over her folds and she froze.

She was still swollen. Sensitive. When she carefully pressed two fingers inside herself, the difference was immediate and undeniable. Tom’s cock had stretched her. The usual tightness she was accustomed to felt altered - used, opened, still slightly tender from the thick length she had taken so greedily. The memory of how full she had felt when she sank down on him rose without permission. Her cunt gave a small, traitorous twitch around her own fingers.

Stella’s eyes snapped open. She pulled her hand away as if burned and shook her head hard once, twice.

"No."

She reached for the emergency contraceptive she kept in the bathroom cabinet, swallowed the pill with a handful of water from the side of the tub, and forced her breathing to steady. The physical reminder of what she had allowed - what she had *chased*, sat uncomfortably between her legs even as the hot water tried to soothe it.

She had told herself she would not go. The email had arrived while she was in the middle of her workout. She had read it once, dismissed the notification, and forced herself back to the treadmill. The thought refused to leave. After two hours of resisting, she had abandoned the workout, showered, dressed in the most deliberately provocative outfit she owned, and left without telling a single person.

Now the thrill was gone, replaced by a tight, uneasy awareness of her own body.

"Never again," she said under her breath. "That was enough. The curiosity is satisfied."

She stayed in the bath until the water began to cool, then stepped out, dried off with sharp movements, and pulled on a silk robe. She walked back into the living room and picked up her phone. She scrolled to the senator’s number and called.

He answered on the third ring;

"Stella."

"You haven’t forgotten dinner tomorrow night, have you?" she asked, keeping her tone light and even.

"Of course not. Eight o’clock. I’ll pick you up."

"Good. I’ll see you then."

She ended the call before the conversation could stretch. The senator’s voice still sounded the same. Reliable, predictable and polite. Nothing like the raw, shameless heat she had just left behind. She hated that the comparison formed so easily.

Across the city, Tom had just returned to his room when the sound of a car door closing reached him from the driveway. He did not go to the window. He simply sat on the edge of the bed, still turning over everything that had happened - Stella’s body, the way she had broken under him, the System’s pleased congratulations, and the sleek black Mercedes now parked outside like a trophy.

Downstairs, Sienna stepped out of her own car and stopped cold.

A black Mercedes-AMG GT sat in front of the house, polished and unmistakable under the exterior lights. It had not been there when she left. She stared at it for a full three seconds, her lips parting slightly.

"Whose car is that?" she asked the nearest bodyguard.

"It was delivered about an hour ago, Miss Kensington. The delivery person said it belongs to Mr. Harlow."

Sienna blinked.

"My husband?"

"Yes, ma’am."

She stood there in silence, the information refusing to settle properly. Tom Harlow - the quiet, unemployed bartender she had married on a whim and kept around for convenience, now owned a car that cost more than most people earned in years.

The same man who had barely been able to look her in the eye a month ago?

Sienna turned and walked into the house without another word. Her heels struck the floor harder than necessary. She went straight upstairs, past Tom’s closed door, and into her own room. She set her bag down, paced once, then twice, then stopped in the centre of the carpet.

How?

A former bartender who had not worked a single day since the wedding did not simply acquire a car like that. The thought of shady money, of something that could splash back onto her name and her launch, made her stomach turn.

She started toward Tom’s room but when she reached there, she froze before she could push the door open.

The deal...

’You keep your fucking mouth shut about anything I do in this house. You do not question me. You do not interfere.’

Sienna’s fingers curled into a fist. A low, frustrated sound escaped her throat. She stepped back from the door as if it had burned her and returned to her own room, pulling her phone out with sharp movements.

She called one of the senior bodyguards.

"I want the source of that car," she said the moment he answered, voice tight and controlled.

"Every detail. Who paid for it, where it came from, any paperwork that exists. I want the information before the end of the day. If my husband is involved in anything that could implicate this household or my name, I need to know immediately."

She ended the call without waiting for confirmation and stood alone in her room, staring at the closed door that led to the rest of the house.

"That fucking guy..." She gritted.
