NTR: The live-in-husband gets a perverted heart system
Chapter 45: Not interestedTom straightened without thinking.
Sienna’s eyes moved over him once, quick and assessing, the same way she looked at fabric or a half-finished design. Whatever she saw didn’t soften her expression.
"I have a new arrangement for you," she announced.
Her voice wasn’t harsh, but there was a tightness underneath it, like she was already making it clear that Tom wouldn’t dare refuse the arrangement. Tom felt the second daily task rise in the back of his mind like a quiet warning. He met her eyes and kept his tone firm.
"I’m not interested."
Sienna’s brows pulled together. For a second she looked almost caught off guard, as if she had expected him to at least let her finish.
"You haven’t even heard what it is."she said.
"I don’t need to since I’m not interested." he said simply.
"Excuse me?" She blinked. Tom deadpanned.
"You heard me."
A short silence settled between them. Sienna’s jaw shifted. After a few seconds of staring at Tom, expecting him to back down as he used to, to no avail, Sienna scoffed in disbelief.
Actually, she wasn’t so surprised. She just got her theory proven that the man was finally showing his true colors.
Meanwhile, Tom was already trying to turn towards the kitchen. He had seen that the kitchen assistant hadn’t dished his meal. He knew that would be Sienna’s instructions.
"Well," she said, slower now, "I am interested in saying it. And you will listen."
She drew a breath through her nose and smoothed one hand down the side of her dress, a small, automatic gesture she always made when she was forcing herself to stay controlled. The neckline of the dress dipped low enough that the soft inner curve of her breasts showed when she moved. Tom noticed, then deliberately looked back at her face.
"I’m tired of the way you’ve been acting up." She began. Tom turned around to look at her.
"Showing up in a car that doesn’t belong to you... Only God knows where you got it from. Messing around with my staff and friend..." She paused, shaking her in disapproval.
Tom raised his brows at her conclusion on the car and chuckled dryly. He just couldn’t help it. Although he wasn’t too surprised she didn’t find it believable that he could somehow earn money to purchase that kind of car.
Sienna didn’t stop to look at his facial expressions, she just continued;
"No, that kind of reputation won’t be good for what I have on my table at the moment. So I’ve made a decision. I’m sending you to my vacation house on the outskirts of the city. You will have money for whatever you need and I will give you more money, just name your price. You stay there, keep your head down, and stay out of sight. I will tell people you left for some program or studies. It’s clean and simple."
"You will stay there until I’m done with the launch, after I have successfully get the collection in the market, you will come back and we will get the divorce done." Sienna explained sharply like she was merely offering a child some vegetables instead of unhealthy junks, telling them it was for their own good.
Tom looked at her for a long moment. The old version of him would already have started nodding, already searching for the least painful way to agree because his heart wouldn’t bear to see the woman in distress. He would have wanted to do anything to ensure she wasn’t hurt in any way. That version felt farther away than it had even a week ago.
The new version of him could only conclude that the woman was being selfish and disrespectful. Something hotter and more stubborn sat under his ribs now.
"No." the response came out from his mouth.
Sienna’s eyes narrowed. "what?"
"No. I said no." he repeated, firmer. The word came out sharper than he planned, but he didn’t take it back.
"You don’t get to just decide that. You don’t get to move me around like extra furniture whenever I become inconvenient."
Color rose in her face. Her fingers curled slightly against the side of her dress. "I’m paying you for the trouble, aren’t I?"
"I don’t give a fuck about your money, Sienna." The sentence left his mouth harder than he expected. For a second he almost regretted the edge in it, then decided he didn’t. He told himself quickly that she didn’t deserve gentility at this moment.
Sienna’s lips parted, genuine surprise flickering across her face before she locked it down.
Tom held her gaze. His voice dropped, steadier now but still edged.
"I agreed to this marriage because I didn’t want your work damaged by one drunken night which was your mistake in the first place. I stayed because I chose to. Not because you bought me. I need you to get that right. I chose to!" He maintained firmly.
"And I’m not going to keep accepting every decision you make just because it’s easier for you. Now, stop being selfish and disrespectful."
Sienna stared at him in shock, in silence. The silence stretched. He could see her thinking, calculating, the same way she did when a design wasn’t coming together the way she wanted. Her throat moved again as she swallowed.
Tom didn’t wait for her to find a reply.
He turned and walked past her toward the kitchen, the air between them tight enough to feel. For the firstl time in a long while, he didn’t look back to check her expression. Behind him, he heard the soft scrape of her cup against the table, then nothing.
Sienna remained standing in the dining hall after Tom walked out.
For a moment she simply stared at the empty doorway, her fingers still curled against the side of her dress. The way he had spoken to her, the refusal, the language, the nerve sat under her skin like an itch she couldn’t scratch.
She exhaled slowly through her nose and forced her hand to relax.
She had already known he might refuse the vacation home. That was why she hadn’t relied on it as her only option.
Sienna picked up her phone, unlocked it, and opened a message thread she had prepared earlier this morning. The contact was saved under a neutral name. Not a real towing company - she wasn’t reckless enough to file an actual stolen vehicle report that could circle back to her name. Just a private crew that handled quiet, well-paid jobs and asked no unnecessary questions.
They would handle Tom until he decided to start following her orders again.
She typed a short confirmation.
’Do it now. Same instructions as discussed.’
She sent the message, watched it deliver, then locked the phone and grabbed her purse.
