Old Blind Man in a Cultivation World

Chapter 34: Thousand Year-Old Storm Orchid Stolen!

Just as the two disciples left the hall another duo walked in. This time the two were inner sect disciples at the Tier two Martial Warrior level.

The two men were not much different. They argued over a resource they acquired in their adventures and the fight played out just as before.

While the elders and the disciples watched and conversed with themselves, a shout rang out from the front of the gate.

"Hall Master Mo! The thousand year old storm orchid has been reported stolen from the Sect gardens! Please pause the martial exchange, the accused is one of the disciples here!" An inner sect disciple spoke as he entered with guards who had tier two cultivation alongside him.

Hall Master Mo raised his hand and used the formation plaque to pause the battle that was occurring. The Qi on the platform condensed into chains that stopped the fighters still as if time had paused inside the arena.

"Disciple Wang, this better be important. You know I don’t like disturbances during the martial exchanges." Hall Master Mo spoke with his intent spreading out. The intent caused the disciple shortness of breath before he could calm down.

"I-I assure the Hall master this is a serious matter. The garden hall master is furious about this as well. The thousand year old storm orchid was specifically kept for use by the hall master for his grandson!" The disciple spoke hurriedly to not offend Elder Mo.

"Mhm... so who is the one here that is accused of stealing the thousand year storm orchid?" Elder Mo relented his intent as the garden hall master was mentioned.

"The accused is...." The disciple of the Garden Hall replied.

The disciple paused and took a breath before completing his sentence.

"....personal disciple Shin of the Honorable Elder Karn."

The Martial Hall fell silent.

Even Karn’s expression changed.

"WHAT!?!?" Rei broke the silence with a scream. Her expression filled with confusion and a loss for the moment.

"Huh? Me?" Shin was perplexed. He couldn’t even see beyond this blindfold. How was he supposed to steal a rare treasure like that on his own? He did not even know the value of this so-called Storm Orchid.

A Thousand-Year Storm Orchid was not merely a cultivation herb. It was an extremely valuable treasure capable of forcibly increasing a mortal’s cultivation to Tier Two Martial Warrior by way of consumption. Although the forced increase to Tier Two brought with it many hidden side effects it was still a miraculous treasure capable of creating a tier two warrior out of a mortal human with no cultivation at all.

"He was recorded to have entered the eastern herb garden yesterday by Disciple Cai who is also here to testify." The disciple spoke. At this comment the disciple of Elder Cho walked out with a graven face.

"I was negligent and did not notice personal disciple Shin stealing the orchid but he was definitely the only one who entered the garden hall. I believe disciple Shin is a possible suspect." Disciple Cai spoke gravely as he bowed to everyone in the hall.

"I... I wasn’t there." Shin’s hands trembled.

Disciple Cai’s expression changed.

"If that is true, then you wouldn’t mind us searching you then Disciple Shin?" Disciple Cai spoke.

Whispers stormed the hall. As the guards who came with the garden hall disciple walked towards Shin.

"Y-Yes ofcourse. I don’t have a single herb on me." Shin replied.

The guards stood in front of Shin with their spears. One of the hands landed on Shin’s shoulder as it moved around to all possible places where it could be hidden.

The other guard took Shin’s pouch that he always carried with him. As the guard searched the pouch a glow escaped the cloth. The guard’s eyes widened and he pulled out an orchid that housed immense Qi and a unique scent that stuck to its surroundings.

It was the thousand year-old storm orchid. A treasure of the Garden Hall.

Many voices gasped, Rei’s eyes shook and so did her arms. Whispers stormed the hall.

"Koko..." A chuckle escaped Karn’s mouth but he remained silent.

"I-I didn’t do it. I swear, Master... I didn’t." Shin’s voice trembled as his hands clenched.

"I know." Karn slowly raised his head.

"Master..." Shin’s eyes teared from under the blindfold.

"How could he steal a thousand-year-old Storm Orchid? He’s Elder Karn’s personal disciple." Elder Mu the graceful old woman spoke while chuckling.

"Perhaps this is the morals Elder Karn teaches." Elder Cho’s voice rang out with a devious smile.

Rei’s fists clenched. She wanted to shout at them and defend Shin but couldn’t do anything or else it would make it worse for Shin.

A hand landed on Rei’s shoulder from behind suddenly. Her body shook from the scare. The hand belonged to her master, Karn.

Karn lowered his head until it was next to Rei’s as the both of them faced all of the disciples and the elder in front of them.

"Rei." Karn spoke as he focused on the Elder Cho.

"Yes Master." Rei replied but her focus was on the Confusion and Panic pressing down on her shoulders.

"I can protect Shin from the consequences...." Karn’s blind eyes turned toward the surrounding elders.

"....But If you believe he is innocent, then prove it." Karn stood up straight. As he flicked his hand and pressed accept on the system screen that had appeared.

Hearing Karn, Rei took a deep breath. Her master had already said he believed Shin. That meant there was no reason for her to panic. She looked towards the orchid in the guard’s hand and then towards Shin.

Then finally her eyes landed on the disciple Cai, her eyes narrowed.

"Koko...as expected from my disciple." Karn smiled faintly.
