Lu Wei’s foot slammed against the ground as his body shot forward like an arrow. The spear in his hands thrust straight toward Shin’s chest.

The surrounding disciples immediately erupted into cheers.

"Good speed!"

"He’s going straight for him!"

"That blind kid is finished!"

Shin paid no attention to their words. He remained completely still.

The spear continued forward drawing ever closer to his body. The spear eventually reached one meter in front of him.

’He’s not moving?’ Lu Wei’s eyes flashed in confusion.

The spearhead was already less than a foot away from Shin.

Just as the spear came dangerously close, Shin tilted his head. The spear passed beside his cheek.

Whoosh!

’He dodged?’ Lu Wei’s eyes widened.

Shin’s foot shifted and his body rotated naturally around the spear. Without warning, his hand reached forward.

Bang!

His palm struck Lu Wei’s chest, sending the young man stumbling backward.

"What?!" The surrounding cheers immediately became quieter. Lu Wei stabilized himself and stared at Shin in confusion.

"Come again." Shin smiled.

"Don’t get arrogant." Lu Wei’s expression darkened as he gripped his spear tightly. Qi erupted from his body.

The spear began to tremble. He had underestimated his opponent before but that mistake would not happen again.

Lu Wei stepped forward. This time, he didn’t attack directly, his spear swept horizontally.

Shin ducked leaving little space between him and the spear as the spear passed above his head. Another thrust followed just as quickly causing Shin to twist his body.

The thrusts did not cease, but Shin remained unbothered, avoiding each strike regardless of the angle. Every attack passed within inches of his body but Shin never looked toward the spear.

His blindfold remained firmly in place. Instead, he listened to the movement of air and the sound of footsteps. Even the vibrations of the ground became information to Shin.

"Don’t try to see everything. Learn what doesn’t need to be seen." Shin suddenly remembered Karn’s voice.

’Master...’ Shin’s smile widened. He could hear it now, the song of the man Lu Wei in front of him resounded in his ears. It wasn’t an ability like Rei’s Human path understanding, it was more of a mental hallucination Shin experienced by the way of using his senses so deeply.

Lu Wei thrust again and Shin stepped inside the spear’s range. Lu Wei’s pupils contracted upon seeing this but it was too late. Shin grabbed the shaft and pulled.

Lu Wei’s balance shifted forward, Shin did not wait and his knee struck his stomach.

THUD!

Lu Wei doubled over but before he could recover, Shin released the spear and pushed him backward.

Lu Wei stumbled, one foot landed dangerously close to the boundary and the crowd erupted.

"He’s actually keeping up!"

"How is he fighting without seeing?!"

"Is that some kind of perception technique?"

’Transparent World.’ Above the arena, Karn’s smile deepened. Shin had finally begun to master it. He was beginning to perceive what existed beyond his sight.

Lu Wei gritted his teeth, everyone knew his pride had been wounded. He raised his spear once more but this time, his Qi surged violently.

"I won’t lose to a blind child!"

"Then come." Shin’s smile disappeared as he lowered his stance.

The inner sect disciple’s expression became slightly more serious. He could feel the change in the arena. The next exchange would decide the fight and high above them.

’Show them, Shin. Show them what it means to see without sight.’ A slight smile escaped Karn. The pride of a blind man could not leave Karn, who had lived with blindness for more than fifty years.

The spear moved with unparalleled speed.

BOOM!

The force behind the attack caused the arena beneath his feet to crack and Shin’s clothes fluttered violently due to the pressure.

The spearhead drew closer and closer but Shin’s expression remained calm.

He stepped forward and the crowd fell silent.

"What is he doing?!"

Shin entered the spear’s range causing Lu Wei’s eyes to widen. The spear was already too close to stop.

But Shin had already moved. His body shifted to the side as one hand caught the spear shaft and the other hand struck Lu Wei’s wrist.

Bang!

Lu Wei’s fingers went numb. The spear slipped from his grasp. Before he could react, Shin stepped forward again.

THUD!

A palm struck his chest and Lu Wei’s body flew backward causing his feet to scrape across the arena.

His body rapidly reached the boundary.

’No!’ His expression changed. He desperately tried to stop himself but Shin had already arrived beside him with one final palm strike.

BOOM!

Lu Wei’s body flew out of the arena.

Silence.

For several seconds, the entire area remained completely quiet. The inner sect disciple stared at Lu Wei outside the boundary. Then he looked toward Shin.

"The winner..." He raised his hand.

"Elder Karn’s disciple, Disciple Shin!"

"HE WON!" The arena erupted.

"Without even removing his blindfold!"

"How did he do that?!"

"That perception technique is terrifying!"

Shin stood in the center of the arena. He didn’t immediately celebrate, instead he slowly raised his hand toward his blindfold.

’Master...’ A smile appeared on his face.

For the first time, he understood what Karn had been trying to teach him. The world wasn’t dark, he had simply been looking for light in the wrong place.

’Not bad, boy. Not bad at all.’ Above the arena, Karn’s smile widened.

Just then a voice spoke out loud from right next to Karn. "Your disciple is quite extraordinary. To hone his senses to such a degree... It seems the saying is true. A master truly should not be stingy when it comes to teaching their disciple."

The voice paused for a moment before continuing.

"But I do wonder... Why haven’t you taught him how to form an Ethereal Eye, as you have? Is it because he still possesses his eyes?"

The charming voice carried a hint of amusement. Karn’s expression immediately changed. His head turned sharply toward the voice, yet despite his heightened senses, he could perceive nothing.

"Who?" His already sightless eyes narrowed.

"Ah, forgive me. I forgot. In my current state, mystic beasts cannot perceive me." A soft chuckle followed.

"How about this?" The instant her words fell, a figure slowly materialized before Karn. A young woman stood before him, her bright green hair cascading down her back. An oni mask hung casually from her waist, swaying slightly as she smiled at him.
