Chapter 925: Chapter 925: Enraged Army vs. Animate Legion

"Nani?!"

Charlotte Linlin was struck with disbelief. She couldn’t comprehend why Zeus, whose very essence was a thundercloud, could be physically knocked back by a lightning strike.

"Big Mom! Eat this!!!"

Enel let out another primal roar. He swung his massive arm, driving a gargantuan fist toward Big Mom.

"Don’t get cocky, brat!"

Seeing Enel coming for her, Linlin cast aside her confusion regarding Zeus. With a furious howl, she instantly coated her left arm in obsidian-black Armament Haki and met the strike head-on without a shred of fear.

BOOM—!

The collision of their fists unleashed a blinding eruption of lightning.

The sheer force of the impact generated a violent pressure wave, sending ripples of wind and dust radiating outward in every direction for hundreds of meters. Under the weight of their power, the earth groaned and buckled, tearing open deep fissures across the plaza.

However, no matter how potent Enel’s electricity was, it was held firmly at bay by Big Mom’s Haki. Not a single spark could penetrate her defense to reach her skin.

"Get lost!"

Charlotte Linlin barked, exerting even more of her monstrous, inhuman strength.

"Impossible!"

In an instant, Enel’s expression shifted to horror. A terrifying force surged from her fist that he simply could not resist. His massive frame tilted backward, and he was forced to retreat several steps, each "thump" leaving a giant footprint in the stone before he could regain his balance.

By now, the Animate Legion had fully descended upon Whole Cake Island, launching a frenzied assault on anyone in sight.

Fortunately, despite the suddenness of the raid, the island’s military forces had been gathering ever since the leak about Aeridar’s initial infiltration. They had formed the powerful Enraged Army and were standing by for combat.

The Homies of the Yonko’s Big Mom Pirates and the Animate Legion of the Chris Pirates had officially begun their war for the island.

Aside from hundreds of high-bounty outlaws, the core of Whole Cake Island’s defense consisted of the Chess Soldiers and Biscuit Soldiers.

The Chess Soldiers are the primary military force of Totto Land, composed entirely of Homies themed after chess pieces. These soldiers are divided into six ranks: Pawns, Bishops, Knights, Rooks, Queens, and Kings.

While the lower ranks serve as infantry, the Queens and Kings possess significantly higher authority and combat prowess. Their strength is comparable to that of a master-level swordsman; they can cleave through multi-story towers with ease.

Then there were the Biscuit Soldiers, each clad in a suit of biscuit armor and wearing a plumed Roman-style helmet. Created by Cracker and given life by Big Mom’s soul, these towering constructs possessed incredible defensive hardness and formidable strength.

Most importantly, they feared nothing. Once an order was given, they would flood forward like a relentless tide to swallow the enemy.

"Fire! Fire! Archery corps, loose! Gunners, open fire!"

Mont-d’Or took command of the Enraged Army, shouting orders at the top of his lungs.

Whish! Whish! Bang! Bang!

Thousands of Chess Soldiers drew their bows, unleashing a literal rain of sharp arrows. Simultaneously, gunners fired their flintlocks into the sky, filling the air with flashes of gunpowder and lead.

Chunks of stone began to fall from the sky, the remains of stone-based animate beings shredded by the concentrated fire.

"SCREECH—!"

"Forward! Forward!"

"Annihilate them!!!"

Eagles shrieked and knights bellowed. Countless flying animate beings braved the hail of bullets to drop stone gargoyles and iron beasts into the fray. Atop the backs of massive metal dragons, squads of metal knights fell like artillery shells into the enemy lines.

Gargoyles swooped down, tossing five-meter-tall stone golems directly into the Homie formations. These golems, relying on their massive size and weight, rampaged through the Chess Soldiers with impunity.

Even more terrifying were the high-tier metal constructs. Their bodies were so incredibly hard that many bounty-holding combatants of the Enraged Army found they could only leave shallow, meaningless scratches on their alloy hides.

"Do something! Kill these things already!" Mont-d’Or screamed at the high-bounty officers and cadres as he watched the Homie ranks fall into chaos.

Faced with an Animate Legion that was just as fearless and powerful as themselves, the Big Mom Pirates found themselves locked in a grueling stalemate.

Having possessed the Animation Glove for years, Aeridar had mastered the logical application of his powers. The Animate-Animate Fruit was unique; it granted life and consciousness based on the shape of the object. Humanoid shapes could speak and laugh; beast types could roar; winged shapes could fly.

Furthermore, the stamina cost of the ability was tied to the density and size of the material. The denser the material, and the larger the volume, the more stamina it consumed to animate.

Within the Legion, stone constructs were the "lowest" tier and the most numerous. Above them were the metal tiers, subdivided into Iron and Alloy grades.

Beyond the basic stone golems, the elite of the Legion included alloy dragons, horned demons, and metallic werewolves. Their metal bodies were virtually impervious to swords and bullets; without significant power, one couldn’t even leave a dent.

Take the black metal dragon, for instance, a beast dozens of meters long. Aeridar had reinforced its body with various alloys. Even a pirate with a bounty over 100 million could barely leave a mark on it. Forget the Queen and King Chess Soldiers; even many Big Mom officers were completely helpless against it.

From the very start, the clash between the two legions reached a fever pitch as a steady stream of constructs poured out of the island in the sky.

"ALL OF YOU, DIE!"

Charlotte Linlin, in a fit of pique, grabbed Zeus and began discharging massive bolts of lightning into the heavens.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

In a few breaths, a network of fork lightning cleared a massive hole in the "black cloud." Whether stone or metal, the animate beings were pulverized. At least a thousand constructs were wiped out in an instant.

Seeing this, Aeridar felt a twinge of pain for his creations. "I can’t let you keep doing that!"

With a sharp whoosh, Aeridar dove toward the ground, intercepting Big Mom.

"Golden Ring Aeridar! Your opponent is me!"

Katakuri spoke in a low, stern voice. Standing on his candy staircase, he lashed out with a lightning-fast kick. His leg extended and expanded instantly, transforming into a long, black metallic cylinder that thrust toward Aeridar like a battering ram.

"You can’t hit me with that!"

Aeridar let out a contemptuous smirk. With a soft pop, he vanished from the air. He reappeared tens of meters away, directly in front of Big Mom.

"Golden Ring brat!"

Seeing his face, Charlotte Linlin’s rage reached a new peak. "Hand over the results of the Gigantification research!!!"

She clutched Zeus’s body and charged forward. Despite her massive size, she was exceptionally agile, though each of her heavy steps shattered the pavement. She threw a punch crackling with lightning at Aeridar, her momentum staggering.

"Heh heh heh... I see you’ve noticed!" Aeridar grinned savagely. He raised his hand toward the earth. "Lion’s Threat: Earth Bind!!"

Rumble—!

The earth heaved violently. The ground in front of Aeridar surged upward as bricks, stones, and soil swirled together, forming a massive lion’s head dozens of meters high. It let out a silent roar, its maw gapping open to swallow Big Mom whole.

"GET OUT OF MY WAY!"

Linlin let out a furious scream. Her massive body actually leaped into the air, and she drove her fist straight into the face of the earthen lion.

CRASH—!

The massive construct didn’t last a second. The earthen lion’s head was pulverized by Big Mom’s punch, exploding into a shower of debris and dirt amidst a burst of blinding lightning and a powerful shockwave.
