Chapter 479: Cautious Nico Robin, Human Nature Is Complicated!Chapter 479: Chapter 479: Cautious Nico Robin, Human Nature Is Complicated!
"Keep thinking."
Sanji stared at Caesar and said, "We need to know where he is."
Just knowing that the other party didn’t take the medicine isn’t enough; we have to know where he is.
That way...
...they can go over there to confirm whether he’s dead or alive.
Upon hearing this, Kin’emon also suppressed the smile on his face, expressionlessly pushing the knife forward a little.
His expression seemed to say: You better make yourself clear quickly, or my knife won’t be so forgiving!
Caesar:!!
Are all the people from the Land of Wano crazy in the head?!
Can’t they just talk properly? Why do they have to resort to violence?!
But to avoid being shut down, Caesar chose to follow his heart.
Of course, this isn’t cowardice—it’s just a necessary measure to survive!
After silently convincing himself with this thought, Caesar said, "I remember my subordinates reporting something."
After saying this, Caesar paused, recalling what those people had told him earlier, and said, "That kid named Momonosuke once sneaked into the secret room."
As soon as these words were spoken, Kin’emon’s eyes immediately lit up.
"So, he’s in that room?!"
"Not exactly." Caesar shook his head and said, "There was no trace of him in that secret room. I checked when I went to control the building later."
He was certain about this.
"None?" Kin’emon was stunned for a moment before angrily saying, "Are you lying to me?"
Could this bastard be planning to do something with Momonosuke’s life?
"There really was no trace of a child there," Usopp interjected. "I’ve been to that place."
He had searched for Sea Stone there, so he knew exactly what the rooms there looked like and could confirm there were no children.
Hearing Usopp’s words, Kin’emon fell silent. None?
Does that mean...
"Now you believe me, right?" Caesar said helplessly.
Kin’emon didn’t speak, just silently stared at Caesar.
Feeling unnerved by Kin’emon’s gaze, Caesar immediately racked his brains and then said, "Right, I thought of a possibility!"
"Speak!"
"Although there’s no trace of your son in the secret room, I thought of another place," Caesar said.
As soon as these words were spoken, hope once again shone in Kin’emon’s eyes.
Could they find the young master?
"What place?"
"The garbage dump."
"Garbage dump?"
Kin’emon was stunned. What garbage dump?
Why would Momonosuke go to a garbage dump?
"That’s right, the garbage dump," Caesar nodded and said. "There’s an entrance in the secret room that leads directly to the underground garbage dump of the research institute."
"If the garbage dump remains intact, your son might have survived."
Of course, it’s only a possibility.
If luck isn’t on his side, he could still be blown up.
"Great!" Kin’emon said. "I’ll go check that garbage dump right away!"
I just hope the young master is still alive...
No, the young master must still be alive!
Thinking this, Kin’emon sheathed his sword.
Seeing this, Caesar breathed a sigh of relief—finally free from this madman’s threats.
"Hey, Straw Hat Boy!" Caesar glanced at Luffy and said, "Keep this lunatic away from me!"
He never wanted to experience that feeling of being threatened again!
Unfortunately, Luffy paid him no attention, not even sparing him a glance.
Caesar: ...
Ign... ignored?
Damn Straw Hat Boy!
"Yohohohoho~"
"I’ll go with you," Brook said with a laugh.
Searching together would be much easier than going alone.
"Thank you very much, Mr. Corpse."
"Don’t mention it, Mr. Kin’emon~" Brook chuckled.
Since he had nothing better to do, helping search for someone wasn’t a problem.
"Then take Merry along," Sanji said. "With her, you’ll reach the research institute quickly, and her ability can help lift the debris."
Merry’s Power of Wind was quite formidable, making her perfect for joining Brook and the others in the rescue.
"That little girl, huh."
Kin’emon glanced at Merry, who was floating in the air watching the children, and said, "Then I’ll leave it to you."
With that girl around, things would indeed be more convenient.
Sanji nodded, then called out to Merry in the distance, "Merry, come here for a moment."
"Huh?"
Merry, who had been chatting with Mocha, paused in surprise before flying over curiously. "What’s up?"
After speaking, she glanced at Caesar—this guy had been screaming pretty miserably earlier... Could it be because of him?
"There’s something we need your help with."
"Go ahead~" Merry smiled. "What do you need me to do?"
She loved this feeling of being needed by her friends.
"We’ve got information on the location of Kin’emon’s son," Sanji pointed toward the research institute behind them. "So we need you to take him and Brook there to search."
"No problem."
Merry accepted Sanji’s request without hesitation—it wasn’t a difficult task for her.
"Then let’s go," Kin’emon urged. "Get there as fast as possible!"
He couldn’t wait to see Momonosuke right away!
"No problem~"
Merry smiled, then activated her ability to lift the three of them into the air.
Nico Robin, who had remained silent until now, thought for a moment before turning to Zoro. "Zoro, could you go with Merry and the others too?"
"Me?"
Zoro was taken aback. Why did he have to go as well?
"Kin’emon’s earlier state was concerning," Nico Robin explained.
Having lived in the underworld for twenty years, she understood human nature all too well.
If Kin’emon’s son really was dead, no one could predict what he might do.
So... it would be best for Zoro to go along.
Zoro didn’t reply immediately. Instead, he glanced at Kin’emon, recalling his earlier demeanor.
Then he said, "Alright, I understand."
With that thought, Zoro walked toward Merry and expressed his intention to go along as well.
Merry didn’t find it strange and casually used her ability to bring Zoro aboard.
Soon, the three of them swiftly flew off into the distance.
Watching them depart, Nico Robin thought to herself: Although the likelihood isn’t high... for the safety of our comrades, we can’t take that gamble.
After all... they weren’t particularly familiar with this Samurai, were they?
"I hope they can find that child named Momonosuke," Usopp said. "Otherwise, Kin’emon might go crazy."
He remembered all too clearly how the other had looked earlier.
"Go crazy?"
Caesar was taken aback, then exclaimed excitedly, "Then you absolutely can’t let him near me again, or he’ll definitely cut me down!"
Although he hadn’t directly harmed the child named Momonosuke, it was ultimately because of him that the boy had come here.
So... he had to be on guard.
"Then you’d better pray he finds his son," Usopp snorted.
Otherwise, that guy really might draw his sword and cut Caesar down.
Meanwhile, Sanji frowned as he stared in the direction the group had left.
If Kin’emon’s son really had died, then...
As if considering a certain possibility, Sanji sighed quietly.
If possible, he didn’t want to clash with this Samurai.
But... Caesar absolutely couldn’t die.
Forget it, no point worrying about this now. They’d wait until everyone returned.
Shaking his head, Sanji turned and walked to the side, saying, "Usopp, come help me."
"No problem!"
Usopp cheerfully followed Sanji over to a pile of wood and ingredients, asking, "What do you need me to do?"
"Help me..."
After glancing at the two who had started working, Luffy couldn’t control his drool.
"Okama cuisine..."
I wonder what it tastes like.
Rubbing his rumbling stomach, Luffy’s face lit up with eager anticipation.
This time, he was definitely going to eat his fill!
Thinking this, Luffy sidled up near Sanji, squatting on the ground to wait.
Sanji: ??
"What are you doing?" Sanji eyed Luffy warily. "The food isn’t ready yet, you brat! Don’t you dare sneak any ingredients!"
Even though Luffy could eat raw meat without issue, it wasn’t properly prepared food, so he wouldn’t allow it!
"Got it, got it, I won’t sneak any.
Slurp~"
Sanji:
Could you wipe your drool before saying that?
Whatever, no point bothering with this idiot.
Shaking his head, Sanji began bustling around the massive stove.
This time, he was going to let everyone taste delicious Okama cuisine!
"Where did those few go off to?" Nami wondered, staring in the direction Merry had left.
"Maybe to look for Kin’emon’s son," Perona said uncertainly.
After all, that guy had been shouting about finding his son earlier.
"Looking for his son..."
Nami immediately showed a look of understanding—no wonder they’d gone there.
But... after such a terrifying explosion, could that kid really have survived?
Thinking this, Nami voiced her thoughts.
"Who knows," said Meiser. "But judging by their appearance, it’s quite possible."
Otherwise, they wouldn’t have gone straight to the research institute after interrogating Caesar.
This time, Nami just nodded without saying anything more.
Then, Nami said, "Once the treatment is over, these children will be free from the poison’s control, right?"
Hearing Nami’s words, Perona’s face lit up with a smile, clearly happy for the children.
Law, however, calmly replied, "As long as the surgery goes smoothly, there won’t be any issues."
But given his abilities, performing this surgery shouldn’t be a problem.
"I understand," Nami nodded.
Chopper then earnestly said, "Let me assist you."
Although he didn’t know how Law planned to treat these children, as a doctor, he could definitely help. So, he wanted to go in and see!
"No," Law refused without hesitation. "No one is allowed to enter during my treatment!"
Chopper: ??
Chopper stared at Law with a puzzled expression, clearly not understanding why he was being refused.
But Law had no intention of explaining himself to Chopper. He turned and walked toward the large building behind them, leaving Chopper fuming.
"Damn it, why won’t he let me go?" Chopper grumbled.
He was a doctor too!
"Maybe Law’s treatment method is quite special," Meiser speculated.
As he spoke, Meiser recalled Law’s Devil Fruit Ability again, wondering if he planned to cut open the children’s bodies first to remove the toxins.
He felt this possibility wasn’t low; otherwise, Law wouldn’t have said something like that.
Just then, Nami said, "Hey, look up there—what kind of bird is that in the sky?"
"Bird?"
Chopper, who was still angry, paused for a moment before instinctively looking up at the sky.
"It’s true, there really is a big bird in the sky!"
Following her gaze, Meiser instinctively furrowed his brows and said, "That doesn’t look like a bird..."
Sharingan, activate!
In the next moment, with his perception dramatically enhanced, Meiser immediately recognized what was in the sky.
"No, that’s not a bird!" Meiser stared at Buffalo’s form and said, "That’s a person!"
"A person with spinning objects on their body!"
Hearing this, Law immediately stopped in his tracks and sharply looked up at the sky. "Glasses, are you sure?"
"I’m sure," Meiser nodded.
After speaking, Meiser also noticed Baby 5 standing behind Buffalo and added, "By the way, there’s a woman in a maid outfit standing behind that person."
"I think I know who they are."
"Who?" Perona quickly asked.
"They’re Joker’s subordinates."
"In other words... they’re enemies!"
As if remembering something, a smile appeared on Perona’s face.
She had been holding back a lot of anger earlier.
Now, she could finally let it out!
"They are indeed enemies," Law said, narrowing his eyes. "Can you handle them?"
"Of course, no problem."
Perona grinned and said, "Leave it to us."
"Alright."
Law nodded, then turned and continued toward the house. However, just before entering, he paused once more.
After a moment of hesitation, Law added, "But remember to spare their lives."
"What do you mean?"
"I plan to use them for something," Law explained.
"Then it depends on their luck," Perona replied.
If they were unlucky enough to get blown up by her, they couldn’t blame her!
This time, Law said nothing more, simply nodding before leaving the area.
Perona didn’t mind either. With a cheerful laugh, she turned and headed into the distance, clearly intending to confront those two individuals.
Seeing this, Meiser followed as well. But when he noticed that Nami and Chopper hadn’t moved, he glanced back at them and asked, "Aren’t you two coming?"
"Someone has to stay and protect this place," Nami replied.
"That’s right."
Chopper nodded in agreement and said, "So I’m staying too!"
Even though Law wouldn’t let him go inside to see what was happening, staying here to guard the house shouldn’t be a problem.
At the very least, he couldn’t let the fighting interfere with Law’s treatment.
Upon hearing their words, a hint of helplessness flickered in Meiser’s eyes.
Were these two underestimating his Wood Release abilities a bit too much?
After all, when he created this house, he had infused it with a tremendous amount of Chakra.
But since they insisted, he didn’t press the matter further.
"Then you two stay here," Meiser said. "I’ll go check out the situation."
"Got it!"
