Chapter 449: Empress’ Power, Killing a Servant

[God Servants Remaining: 278.]

The panel appeared in front of every player and native at once, its glowing letters making them understand what they needed to do and the scale of the threat they faced.

"COME ON, BEFORE THE NEXT WAVE," Cavin shouted as he rushed forward along with the other requiem guild members, his voice carrying across the battlefield, "TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY!"

At this point, Cavin was only talking to them, as he knew that none of the players or other natives, or an extremely low amount of them, even stood a chance against these divine envoys.

Basically, this was a 20 VS 278, though the Requiem Guild had the defenses of the strongholds, the monsters that still lingered, and the meat shields to help them absorb some of the attacks.

"Based on the information we got from them," Empress spoke as she faced two servants of the gods, her spear gleaming with silver light, "This is only the first of the two things that make this Monster Tide impossible, isn’t it?"

"Indeed," Cavin continued smiling, his eyes gleaming with a hint of anticipation, "The second test... the one that even we may struggle with."

"If we just leave the stronghold to be overtaken by it, we should have an easier time, right?" Granite suggested, his massive form shifting uneasily.

"No," Cavin shook his head, his voice firm, "That’ll be our last resort, I quite like this place and I’d rather not abandon it."

"But..." Granite eyes widened, "It won’t even matter because—"

"—I know," Cavin smiled, his expression unreadable, "But so what? We can still keep it around a few more hours."

SLASH!

While they were talking, one of the Servants of Void swung his blade at them, its dark edge cutting through the air with deadly intent, forcing them both to dodge.

Swoosh!

Empress threw her spear, which hit the Servant of Void directly in the chest, though it didn’t seem to do any damage, only a small wound appearing at the impact point, until...

Silver Spread!

From the wound, silver crystals began to erupt all over the servant’s skin, encasing him completely and killing him as he shattered to the ground, his body breaking apart like fragile glass.

’Terrifying,’ Leon thought with a grim expression, his eyes narrowing, ’But good to know she can do that.’

Against any of these opponents, each of them had their own abilities that they could use to surprise an opponent and turn the tide of battle.

Though Leon and his girls also had such a power too, abilities that could rival even the servants of the gods.

For Leon it was his [Oblivion Meteor] coupled with the [Life Vessel] title and the [Time Stop] ability, a combination that could devastate entire armies.

For Violet it was her incredibly powerful ice, as well as her peak-tier draconic abilities that allowed her to unleash devastating attacks.

For Celeste, it was the most powerful, the power to attack the soul directly, for even someone like Cavin hit directly would crumble and die.

And for Emilia, it was the fact she looked weak and unassuming, but she could hit with magic so powerful it could annihilate anything in its path.

Either way, after that kill on the Servant of Void, Empress followed up by making the silver crystals of the servant’s body erupt and start spinning around her, which she then sent like a rain on all the other enemies, a storm of deadly shards.

The other servants turned around and dodged, their movements swift and precise, though the few who were caught instantly were turned into silver crystals as well, their bodies freezing and shattering.

"She isn’t the Empress for no reason," Cavin laughed as he smashed through a servant’s head, killing them with a single devastating blow, "Keep going everybody!"

[God Servants Remaining: 254.]

’They’re doing well,’ Leon thought, his mind racing, ’But we can’t sit around and let them have all the fun.’

His eyes glinted with determination, then he faced forward, his grip tightening on his weapons.

"Alright," he spoke, his voice steady, "Lets enter this battlefield as well."

Leon immediately thought about the possibility of using his Oblivion Meteor instantly, though that would attract too much attention and likely draw the ire of the remaining servants.

’Not yet,’ he decided, pushing the thought aside.

He dashed forward, his body a blur of motion as he weaved through the chaos of the battlefield, his eyes scanning for a target.

And then he found one, a lone servant who had separated from the main group, its form wreathed in shadows.

---

[Vessel of Abyss, Noxus]

[Level: 100]

[Talent: Abyssal Affinity (A-Level)]

[Combat Power: 15,700,000]

[Details: A servant of the God of Abyss, wreathed in the darkness of the void, his very presence drains the light from the world around him.]

---

The servant turned to face Leon, its eyes glowing with a malevolent light, and without warning, it lunged forward, its blade aimed directly at Leon’s heart.

Leon sidestepped the attack with practiced ease, his movements fluid and precise, and countered with a swing of his own sword, forcing the servant to retreat.

"Not bad," Leon grinned, his eyes gleaming with excitement, "But let’s see how you handle this!"

He channeled his power into his sword, the blade glowing with an intense light as he prepared to unleash his [Eclipse Annihilation].

But the servant was faster, its form flickering as it reappeared behind Leon, its blade already in motion.

Leon barely had time to react, his [Ultimate Darkness Barrier] absorbing the blow just in time, the impact sending shockwaves through the air.

"Damn," Leon muttered, his eyes narrowing, "You’re fast."

The servant didn’t respond, its attacks coming faster and faster, each one aimed at a vital point, forcing Leon to stay on the defensive.

But Leon had faced worse, and he knew the servant’s pattern now.

He waited for the right moment, and when the servant lunged again, he was ready.

Time Stop!

The world turned grey around him, the servant frozen in mid-attack, its blade inches from his throat.

Leon moved with practiced precision, his blade already swinging as he positioned himself behind the servant.

Time resumed, and the servant stumbled forward, its momentum carrying it past Leon, and Leon struck.

Eclipse Annihilation!

Dozens upon dozens of slashes erupted from his blade, each one carving into the servant’s form, tearing through its defenses with brutal efficiency.

The servant screamed, its body wracked with pain as the slashes tore it apart, and then it was over.

The servant collapsed to the ground, its body dissolving into particles of shadow, and Leon stood over its remains, not even sweating.

’Yeah, I’m strong enough to defeat enemies with around twice as much Combat Power as I do.’

Ding!

"Damn, Leon!" Violet shouted from across the battlefield, her voice filled with shock and admiration, "Did you just...?"

"He did," Emilia said, her eyes wide with wonder, "He actually killed one of the servants!"

Celeste simply stared, a wide grin spreading across her face, "Of course he did, he’s Leon!"
