Han Mei stared at Qin Li, her face a mask of ice. His words had once again deeply stung the Saintess’s proud and sensitive heart. This was especially true after she saw the group of stunning beauties behind him—Shangguan Shiyu, Leng Yao, and She She—none of whom were any less beautiful than her. The sight only made her hatred for Qin Li burn hotter.
She desperately hoped her Martial Uncle would fly into a rage and use his thunderous power to execute this bastard!
So, hearing her Martial Uncle’s voice finally fill with rage, Han Mei’s heart soared with glee.
Qin Li found the expression on Han Mei’s face increasingly ridiculous. He turned his head, glanced at the Old Ape, Bai Zhongshan, and said with a smile, "Old Bai, why don’t you go test this old fellow’s mettle?"
"As you command, Young Master!"
The Old Ape, Bai Zhongshan, strode forward. He tilted his chin up, looking at the scrawny old man with disdain, and said flatly, "You little thing. The Young Master told me to teach you a lesson."
The scrawny old man laughed instead of growing angry. He looked at the Old Ape, Bai Zhongshan, and began, "Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll just..." Before he could finish, the old man vanished from his spot.
The next moment, a sharp CRACK echoed in front of the Old Ape, Bai Zhongshan.
The sound wasn’t loud, nor did there seem to be any major fluctuation of power. But only those who had reached a certain level of cultivation could tell that the two hadn’t used their full strength. This move was merely a test.
Sure enough, the next moment, the Old Ape, Bai Zhongshan, suddenly shot into the distance, moving away from the Qin Family’s convoy. A series of thunderous booms echoed from the sky.
Han Mei’s expression faltered. ’There’s no way Qin Li could have such a powerful Martial Artist by his side,’ she thought. But the reality was mortifying: someone was actually trading blows with her Martial Uncle, and from the looks of it, neither had gained the upper hand.
’He’s just one strong expert, that’s all!’ Han Mei thought. She took a step forward, pointed her sword at Qin Li, and said coldly, "Qin Li, hand over the Ancient Map! Otherwise, none of you will leave this place today!"
"You?" Qin Li looked at Han Mei as if she were an idiot.
That look made Han Mei want to scream. It wasn’t just contempt; it was as if he didn’t even see her.
Han Mei took a deep breath and said icily, "Qin Li, is there any point in this bravado? On the Great Sea, you got lucky. If it weren’t for that Spirit Beast’s help, do you really think you would have escaped unscathed? I can make a promise today: hand over the Ancient Map, and I’ll personally grant you your life!"
"Are all the people from the Land of the Far West as arrogant and ignorant as you?"
Qin Li shook his head slightly, then looked at the red-robed Elder Hu. "Am I right, my lady?"
Elder Hu was taken aback for a moment. It had been countless years since anyone had spoken to her like that. What’s more, Qin Li was handsome and suave, exuding a very pleasant aura. Even if she wanted to be offended, she couldn’t bring herself to be. She couldn’t help but giggle. "Young man, the people of our Land of the Far West are actually very humble, you know!"
"Elder Hu! Watch your words and remember your station!"
Han Mei was fuming. If she didn’t want that map so badly, she would run her sword through this bastard’s throat right now and see if he could keep spouting his nonsense.
"Saintess, I don’t need you to remind me of my words or my station. You should worry about yourself first! We can talk after you’ve ascended the Palace Master’s throne and become the Sect Leader of the Moon Shaking Immortal Palace!" Elder Hu’s tone was dismissive, completely ignoring Han Mei’s threat.
Han Mei said hatefully, "Fine! I can’t control you. I’ll get the Ancient Map myself, and it will have nothing to do with any of you!" As she spoke, a silver streak of light, like a bolt of silk, shot toward Qin Li!
She struck without any warning, a clear sign of the extreme hatred she bore for Qin Li. She wanted nothing more than to kill him with a single blow.
The Treasure Sword in her hand was particularly noteworthy—it was a Spiritual Artifact, and the power emanating from it was immense. If Qin Li’s strength hadn’t increased, if he were still at his previous Celestial Venerable realm, he truly would have been no match for her.
But now... Han Mei could never have dreamed that the man she hated most in her life would undergo such an earth-shattering transformation in such a short period.
His strength had risen to a level that was completely beyond her comprehension.
Qin Li whipped out his Blood-Drinking Sword. Then, with incredible speed, he charged at Han Mei and brought his blade down on the silver Spiritual Treasure Sword in her hand.
Qin Li’s speed was completely beyond Han Mei’s imagination. Before she even had a chance to react, a deafening BOOM exploded next to her ear.
Han Mei instantly felt a torrential power, like a tidal wave, slam into her, viciously sending her flying. While still in the air, she couldn’t stop herself from spitting out a mouthful of blood. She was knocked back several hundred meters before she managed to stabilize herself. When she looked down at the sword in her hand, her eyes filled with horrified disbelief.
Her silver Treasure Sword, which had only recently become a Spiritual Artifact... was now nothing but a hilt!
He had shattered it to pieces with a single strike!
"You’re not even close to my level." Qin Li’s indifferent voice, full of contempt, struck Han Mei’s sensitive, proud heart like a sledgehammer.
Overwhelmed by shock and fury, Han Mei was overcome, and she coughed up another mouthful of blood.
Seeing things go south, the other Elders from the Moon Shaking Immortal Palace leaped into the air and surrounded Qin Li. The matronly Elder Hu stared at Qin Li, her face a picture of shock. "Young man, what incredible skill!" she exclaimed.
Qin Li smiled faintly. "My lady, surely you don’t intend to be my enemy as well?"
Elder Hu quickly concealed her shock and offered a charming laugh. "How could I be your enemy? It’s just... I can’t very well stand by and watch you bully a member of my sect, can I?"
The yellow-robed old woman, Elder Mo, stared at Qin Li and asked in a low voice, "Young man, is it possible you’ve already reached the Shattered Void realm?"
A moment ago, Elder Mo and the others had barely been able to follow Qin Li’s movements. Even the fluctuations of power from his body gave them no way to judge his true strength.
But Han Mei was, without a doubt, a Martial Artist at the Shattered Void realm. The fact that Qin Li could shatter her Spiritual Treasure Sword and send her flying with a single strike was proof enough that his strength was no less than hers. In fact, if they cast aside their prejudice that Martial Artists from the East were weak, Qin Li’s strength was... likely many times greater than Han Mei’s!
Han Mei stood dazedly on the ground, her face ashen. Her mind was a complete blank, and she had all but lost the ability to think. The world seemed to spin around her as if she were trapped in a dream.
Qin Li looked at the yellow-robed old woman and said calmly, "I really don’t have any Ancient Map. You are all important figures from the Land of the Far West. Why trouble yourselves with me?"
Just then, several more massive BOOMS echoed in the distance. A moment later, the Old Ape, Bai Zhongshan, came streaking back, looking proud and triumphant. A powerful aura erupted from him as he glanced around.
The yellow-robed Elder Mo and the others were so shocked they were nearly speechless, staring dumbfounded as the white-robed old man returned to Qin Li’s side, head held high.
Though surrounded, Qin Li showed no fear on his face. He smiled and asked, "What happened to the old man?"
Bai Zhongshan curled his lip. "That old man was no match for me. I hit him once and blasted him straight into a mountain."
"Bullshit! You just have a little more brute strength! When it comes to technique, a hundred of you bundled together would be no match for me!" An infuriated voice shouted as the scrawny old man flew back, disheveled and covered in dirt, his face a mask of rage.
Bai Zhongshan grinned. "Whatever. You still can’t beat me."
The scrawny old man saw Qin Li, then glanced at Han Mei, who was still staring blankly at the hilt in her hand. He shook his head slightly and said, "Young man, I didn’t expect you to be so skilled. My skills were inferior. Let’s part ways here today."
With that, he called out to Han Mei, "Little Mei’er, let’s go. This was all too rushed, and we were short on materials. When we get back to the sect, your Martial Uncle will forge you a new Spiritual Artifact!"
Han Mei lifted her head, her vision blurred by tears as she looked at the scrawny old man, appearing as if she had suffered the greatest injustice imaginable. Then, her eyes shot a venomous glare at Qin Li before she turned and walked away.
The scrawny old man flashed a menacing grin at Qin Li. "Young man, you’d better hide yourself well. I won’t let you get away so easily next time we meet!"
Then he glared at Bai Zhongshan. "And you! Just you wait!"
Bai Zhongshan looked disdainful. "Losing and then spouting a few empty threats. Anyone can do that."
The scrawny old man glared but forced himself to hold back. This old, white-haired fiend was truly immensely powerful, and his reserves of Primordial Power were simply too vast. It was like a scholar trying to reason with a soldier. ’Since when did the East have such powerful Martial Artists?’ he wondered.
In his heart, the scrawny old man knew perfectly well that the white-haired elder he’d fought was no weaker than him in terms of cultivation realm. His estimation of the East’s overall strength instantly rose. ’It seems I was wrong to look down on the East,’ he thought.
With that thought, the scrawny old man waved his hand. A huge rift suddenly appeared in the Energy Gate at the exit of Profound Island. The group from the Moon Shaking Immortal Palace walked through the large opening and left.
Han Mei shot one last, venomous glare at Qin Li. She was now utterly convinced that he had the Ancient Map.
Before she left, the charming, matronly Elder Hu even shot Qin Li a flirtatious look, then vanished.
After the group had vanished, the large rift in the Energy Gate at the exit of Profound Island slowly sealed itself shut.
The countless members of the Qin family who had witnessed this scene couldn’t help but sigh in admiration. ’Following Qin Li was truly the right choice,’ they thought. ’Even such powerful Martial Artists ended up on the losing end against him!’
After they were gone, She She came to Qin Li’s side and asked, "Why did you let them go?"
"Did you think we could have kept all of them here?" Qin Li shook his head. "Besides, we have so many of our family with us. Not just anyone can withstand the fury of an old monster at the Pill Nascent Soul Transformation realm."
As he spoke, Qin Li also waved his hand. The Energy Gate at the exit of Profound Island was torn open once more, creating an even larger rift. He turned to the dumbfounded Qin Suo and the others. "Go on through."
The chasm-like barrier that had separated the Mysterious Land from the Mortal Realm for countless years was so fragile before an expert at the Pill Nascent Soul Transformation realm!
Having witnessed all of this, Qin Suo finally understood why Qin Li, Bai Zhongshan, and the others, despite their immense power, still insisted on leaving Profound Island.
It turned out that for a true expert, as long as they could find the location of the gate, any Mysterious Land was completely defenseless!
