The ten Martial Artists of the Venerable Realm didn't underestimate Qin Li for his youth. Adhering to the principle that even a lion uses its full strength to hunt a rabbit, the ten of them surrounded him, intending to kill him in a single blow!
The air distorted violently from the powerful fluctuations of Primordial Power. As the ten figures moved, the flagstone-paved ground beneath them cracked like a spiderweb, the fissures spreading in all directions in a shocking display.
Some of the incredibly hard flagstones were even pulverized directly into dust!
Such power gave off the feeling that they could crush and destroy anything in their path.
Qin Li, looking as if he had drunk too much, stared blankly at the savage faces rushing toward him.
These Outer Disciples of Lengqiu Palace, with their Purple Eyes bloodline, failed to notice that Qin Li's pupils showed no sign of constricting with tension. Instead, the corner of his mouth curled into a disdainful smirk.
Their speed was so great that they completely missed this detail. In their minds, even if this young man were a Martial Artist at the Shattered Void realm, he would be unable to withstand the combined attack of ten Supreme Martial Artists!
Just as their attacks were about to strike, a stunning flash of purple light suddenly erupted!
In the eyes of these Purple-Eyed cultivators, the world was reduced to nothing but a brilliant, dazzling purple glow!
They were astonished, curious, and terrified. Why could this young man unleash a purple Sword Qi even purer than the color of their Emperor's eyes!
There was no Sword Intent, only killing intent!
Against these ferocious, bloodthirsty, Venerable Purple-Eyed fighters, killing intent alone was more than enough!
There was no thunderous boom, no massive destruction... only a single, incomparably sharp, and splendid Sword Qi filled with killing intent!
The savage expressions on the faces of these ten Venerable Realm, Purple-Eyed Martial Artists had yet to fade when an irrepressible shock, fear, and horror... appeared.
In that instant, their expressions became quite spectacular; the entire spectrum of human emotion—joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness—could be seen on their faces all at once.
The only thing missing was the legendary look of release. That's right—no one wants to die, and they had never even imagined that they would.
But these ten men were all slain... by a single one of Qin Li's sword strikes!
THUD!
A man's head fell onto the spiderweb-cracked flagstone road, landing with a dull thud.
Immediately after, the heads of the other nine men tumbled to the ground. All of their pupils showed a hint of purple, their eyes were wide open, and their various expressions remained frozen on their faces.
They died with lingering grievances, their eyes wide open.
Qin Li didn't even consider leaving a single one alive. Gazing at the ten corpses, he sheathed his Blood-Drinking Sword. With a wave of his hands, an intensely scorching heatwave instantly enveloped the bodies. A moment later, they vanished without a trace, leaving only an indescribable, burnt smell lingering in the air and a large patch of shattered ground.
Qin Li, carrying his Blood-Drinking Sword, walked off slowly in one direction. Each step was as measured and precise as if he were taking an inventory, smooth as flowing clouds and water. He didn't seem to be moving quickly, yet as if shrinking the ground to an inch, he vanished from the long street of the City Lord's Mansion in an instant.
It wasn't until after Qin Li had disappeared that the doorman at Hu's mansion finally came to his senses. Everything that had just happened took place in the span of two or three blinks. He had been completely stupefied, not even managing to see clearly what had occurred.
He only snapped out of it when Qin Li's figure vanished down the long street. He rushed out of the main gate and stared blankly at the large patch of shattered flagstones, his body trembling uncontrollably.
In an inn room, the elderly man in his eighties, who was meditating, suddenly opened his eyes. A flash of Purple Eyes vanished, replaced by irises as brilliant as stars, giving off a mesmerizing feeling in the darkness of the night. At this moment, however, a grave and perplexed look appeared in the old man's eyes.
A person of his realm and strength had a natural intuition about many things. The slightest premonition of danger was enough to make it impossible for him to concentrate on his cultivation.
He opened his door and knocked gently on the room of the red-faced man next door. The red-faced man, the Fifth Elder of Lengqiu Palace's Outer Sect, was meditating on his bed. Hearing the knock, he slowly ceased his cultivation. He looked at the elderly man who entered and asked with some confusion, "Third Elder, what brings you here? Is something wrong?"
The elderly man said, "It's nothing. I just have a feeling that the men we sent out tonight were... not enough."
The red-faced man was slightly taken aback. He knew the Third Elder's strength far surpassed his own, so for him to say such a thing meant he must have sensed something. "In that case, I'll go take a look..." he offered.
Just then, the elderly man suddenly cut him off. "No need," he said gravely. "He's already here!"
"Who?" the red-faced man asked, staring in astonishment at the decrepit-looking Third Elder.
"Qin... Li!" the Third Elder spat, grinding his teeth as a thick hatred flashed in his eyes.
"That... How is that possible?" The red-faced man stared at the usually composed Third Elder in disbelief. 'Is the Third Elder spouting nonsense?' he thought. 'Qin Li? How could Qin Li possibly be here? We couldn't even find him! Isn't it better that he's appeared? We can just kill him on the spot!'
Just then, the slightly plump Ninth Elder also came over from his room and asked the elderly man, "Third Elder, what happened?"
"It must be Qin Li! The men we sent... I'm afraid they've all met with disaster!" A trace of regret appeared in the Third Elder's eyes. He had calculated every possibility, but he had never expected that Qin Li would be in Yellow Sand City right now, leading to the pointless sacrifice of ten Outer Disciples.
This was something that had never happened to the Third Elder before. He already detested Qin Li, and now, with this new grudge piled on top of the old, the Third Elder wished he could flay Qin Li alive and rip out his tendons.
"How can you be so sure it's Qin Li, Third Elder?" The red-faced man still hadn't processed it, as it was simply too unbelievable.
"Intuition!" As soon as the Third Elder spoke, his body vanished. The next moment, he reappeared at the entrance of the inn.
The red-faced man and the slightly plump elder exchanged a glance and also disappeared from their spots.
Sure enough, standing unsteadily at the inn's entrance was a young man reeking of alcohol. He looked just like a drunkard, tilting his head as he sized up the suddenly appeared Third Elder.
Qin Li forced all the alcohol out of his system. When facing true experts, any uncontrollable factors had to be eliminated. While the small amount of alcohol was trivial, in a battle between masters, a single instant could determine victory or defeat. Therefore, Qin Li wouldn't allow himself to lower his guard.
After all, countless masters had lost their lives due to underestimating their opponents.
The Fifth and Ninth Elders, who appeared right after, stared blankly at the alcohol-reeking young man. They couldn't sense the slightest fluctuation of Primordial Power from him and couldn't help but exchange bewildered glances. 'This is the Qin Li the Third Elder was talking about? A drunken-looking youth like this could kill ten of our Venerable Realm Outer Disciples?'
'How is that possible!'
"You... Who are you? The six of you... why are you blocking my way?"
Qin Li mumbled intermittently, his eyes hazy and his body swaying. He sized up the three men, then couldn't help but let out a snort of laughter. "Huh? Three pairs of twins? You... you all look exactly alike!"
"Qin Li, stop pretending! I know it's you!"
the Third Elder said in a low voice, his eyes shooting out two cold beams of light. He spoke grimly, "I never thought you'd sneak back into Yellow Sand City. I'll give you two choices now. One, be tortured to death by us. Two, hand over the Ancient Map, and we'll leave you with a complete corpse!"
"Twins... old men, how are you all... talking at the same time? Which of you... is the eldest, and which is the second?" Qin Li's gaze was dull, completely lifeless, as he spoke woodenly.
"Third Elder, stop wasting words on him! Let's just kill this trash with one palm strike!" the red-faced man shouted. He charged toward Qin Li, swinging his right hand in a vicious palm strike aimed at a major acupoint on Qin Li's chest.
A surging, tempestuous power erupted from the red-faced man's hand.
With such force, forget a person—even a thick iron gate would have been smashed to bits by his palm.
Moreover, his palm strike was full of infinite variations and left no room for escape. Even if Qin Li wanted to dodge, there was simply no way.
What the red-faced man didn't expect was that Qin Li simply stood there, frozen in place, without making the slightest move to dodge, as if he were scared stiff.
A savage grin spread across the red-faced man's face. 'You're asking for it,' he thought. 'Don't blame me!'
Instead of pulling back his strength, he increased it severalfold, intending to smash Qin Li into a pulp with a single palm!
"Stop—" The elderly Third Elder suddenly sensed something was wrong and subconsciously shouted a single word, but it was too late. The Fifth Elder, the red-faced man, had already struck Qin Li's chest with his palm.
The Fifth Elder could almost see Qin Li's body being blasted to smithereens by his powerful palm strike. His eyes gleamed with excitement, and his red face flushed an even deeper crimson.
BANG!
CRACK!
Following a dull thud, the Fifth Elder felt his strike hit something as hard as the most resilient metal or stone in the world. He clearly heard the sound of the bones in his entire arm shattering.
The fragmented bones in his arm instantly pierced through his flesh, revealing sharp, jagged shards of bone!
Gleaming white bone mixed with blood and gore!
"AH!"
The Fifth Elder let out a shrill, miserable scream, his eyes looking as if they would pop from their sockets!
'How could this be?'
'How could this be!'
'Did I even hit a person? How could a human body be this hard? I'm an expert at the Shattered Void realm! Not some weak, ordinary person!'
'This isn't real!'
'This absolutely isn't real!'
The Fifth Elder's ruddy face was now completely ashen, and large beads of sweat rolled down his forehead.
It was only then that he heard the Third Elder's voice. And then... he saw the drunken-looking young man lift his head, look at him, and flash a smile as harmless as a bunny's—a smile that looked utterly mocking!
A voice completely devoid of any drunkenness drifted into the Fifth Elder's ears, causing his face to turn ashen and incomparably ugly.
"Idiot. You think you're strong?"
