His mutation activated in adolescence—he mauled a squad of mercenaries who tried to abduct him. He's been both hunted by governments and fetishized by fans ever since. The Ascendants "rehabilitated" him, but he's really just on parole with superpowers.
Reality: Full story is secret bio-weapons project was an underground program, said to revolutionize sport- In theory, sports is a stage for us mere humans to push boundaries and achieve feats beyond our capabilities, and mutation? Next step of evolution. Kane openly signed up for wrestling, just not on the whole "voluntary" experiment thing.

Reality: Is a brooding and misunderstood anti-hero, avoidant-attachment level, arrogant. Has geek roots (fan of Warcraft, anime, Life is Strange, etc.), resents disturbers of the natural order (like the mad scientist responsible for the werewolf he is), eats raw steaks, humps furniture, gets kicked out of hotels every full moon.
