Pampered by My Secret Husband

Chapter 1295 - 1297: I’m Afraid... I Will Lose You Forever

She’d offended her future parents-in-law; how was she supposed to marry into the Shannon Family now?

"Elder Sister, what are you laughing at?"

Cheryl Chew called Raina Bell a few times, but she didn’t respond. Cheryl squatted down and saw her laughing for no apparent reason.

That proud smile on her face—no one knew what she was laughing at, but it inexplicably made Cheryl feel creeped out.

"Elder Sister, what are you laughing at?" Cheryl felt that the way Raina looked at Sophie Sullivan wasn’t pure.

Was she... still hating Sophie?

If that was really the case, Cheryl worried she might do something to Sophie. After all, Sophie was the one Thomas Shannon liked.

No matter what happened, he would unconditionally stand on Sophie’s side; at that time, the only one who’d get hurt and suffer would be her.

She really shouldn’t do something as foolish as throwing an egg at a rock.

"Nothing." Raina withdrew her smile and gently shook her head.

"Elder Sister, there are some things I think I should still tell you. Brother Shannon likes Miss Sullivan. No matter whether you’re still brooding over what happened before or not, I hope you won’t do anything stupid..."

"Cheryl, you’re overthinking it." Raina’s facial color cooled. "I know exactly what I’m worth. Miss Sullivan is someone I can’t reach in this lifetime. I’m afraid she doesn’t even have the time to bother with me, so how would I dare do anything to her?"

She paused, then gave a self-mocking smile. "If she wants to kill me, it’s as easy as crushing an ant. Why would I be stupid enough to go looking for death myself?"

Cheryl let out a sigh of relief and smiled in comfort. "Elder Sister, as long as you can think like that, I’m at ease."

In her heart, Raina let out a scornful cold snort. As long as she was alive one day, she would never give up on killing Sophie!

To kill Sophie was no simple matter; this affair had to be planned slowly...

...

The hospital.

In the ward, Fluffy Zane had already woken up.

For not being dead, she felt indescribably lucky.

Mrs. Zane had also already woken up. After coming to from her faint, Mrs. Zane had been guarding at the bedside. William Guillen refused to leave, and it was Mrs. Zane who forcefully drove him away.

William Guillen stood at the ward entrance, only able to look through the small window on the door at Fluffy Zane lying on the sickbed.

She looked very pale, without a trace of the color of blood.

She and Mrs. Zane were saying something. He couldn’t hear them, but he could see the mother and daughter had both cried into people made of tears.

William Guillen’s heart clenched tight. He averted his gaze, unable to bear looking any longer.

In the corridor, footsteps sounded.

William Guillen lifted his eyes and saw Sophie Sullivan walking toward the ward.

Sophie saw him, pressed the corner of the mouth together, and brushed past him with no expression on her face.

"Help talk some sense into Fluffy for me, thanks."

Sophie’s hand on the door handle paused. She said coldly, "This is what I should do. You don’t need to specially tell me."

As soon as she finished, she pushed the door and walked in, the door shut behind her.

"Fluffy, are you feeling any better?"

The mother and daughter hugging their heads and crying heard the voice and both lifted their heads.

"Miss Sullivan, you’re here." Mrs. Zane stood up. "Come, sit."

Fluffy Zane wiped away her tears. Her pale facial color had no trace of blood, and her pair of swollen, tear-reddened eyes were dull and lifeless. "Fennie..."

"Fluffy, if Miss Sullivan hadn’t discovered you had an accident yesterday, I’m afraid... Mum would have lost you forever."

As she said this, grief surged up in Mrs. Zane again, and her tears started falling once more.

"Auntie, Fluffy just couldn’t think things through for a while. Don’t worry, she won’t do anything stupid again. Fluffy, isn’t that right?"
