After that, the knights began to untie the chains that bound my body one by one. Once they finished untying them, they immediately handcuffed both of my hands.
"Don't try to resist. Besides, with these handcuffs on, you won't be able to use magic because they're made of a special material that seals magic. So even if you resist, your resistance will be futile," said one of the soldiers.
"Even if I weren't handcuffed, I wouldn't fight back," I said.
"I don't believe your words. Now let's head to the royal courthouse," said the soldier.
Before I left the room, I looked at the prisoner.
"See you later, sir. We'll probably meet again soon," I said.
"Well, if you're sentenced to death, of course you'll come back here to await your execution. So we'll definitely meet again," said the prisoner.
"Hahaha, that's not what I meant. I meant maybe we'll meet again someday, outside of this place," I said.
"Hahaha, how could I? I've been sentenced to life in prison, so there's no way I'm leaving," said the prisoner.
While we were chatting, a knight standing nearby suddenly shouted at me.
"Hey, I told you to walk, not to chat! Now hurry up and walk!" said the knight.
"Ok, ok," I said.
Then I slowly started to leave the detention room.
"I hope you get a good result in court, son," said the prisoner.
Hearing the prisoner's words, I immediately turned to him. I immediately smiled.
"Thank you, sir," I said.
After saying that, I continued walking out of the detention room. After I successfully exited the detention room, the door was closed and locked again. The detention room was now occupied by only the prisoner himself.
After that, since I was being held on the lowest floor, B6, I walked back up each floor to reach the first floor. After a long walk, I finally arrived at the first floor of the prison building. Several knights were already standing there. It seemed they were assigned to escort me to the courthouse.
"Before you go, we'll heal you first," said one of the knights on that floor.
After that, several knights surrounded me and immediately healed me with healing magic. Because so many knights were healing me, my recovery was completed quickly. This time, my body had recovered from all my previous injuries.
"My body is much better now. You should have healed me immediately after I was beaten by the Duke yesterday. Why are you only healing me now when I'm about to go to the courthouse? Are you afraid that your actions of torturing, beating, and allowing prisoners to be beaten by visiting guests will be discovered by outsiders?" I asked.
"Enough, don't ask too many questions and don't talk too much! Now we're going to clean your entire body because you're covered in blood," said the knight.
After that, several knights doused my body with water magic. Then, they used wind and fire magic to dry my body and clothes.
"Your body is now clean. Now it's time for you to go to the courthouse," said the knight.
Then several knights assigned to escort me immediately approached me and surrounded me. I walked out of the prison building surrounded by the knights. After arriving outside the building, I saw several horse-drawn carriages parked in front of the building. It seemed like the horse-drawn carriages would take us to the courthouse. And sure enough, I was led to the parked horse-drawn carriage. Then I was directed to the horse-drawn carriage in the middle of the many horse-drawn carriages lined up.
Then, a knight opened the door of the horse-drawn carriage and told me to get in. I obeyed the knight's instructions and got in. Once I was inside the carriage, four knights entered to guard me inside. Meanwhile, the other knights boarded the remaining carriage. After all the knights accompanying me had boarded their respective carriages, one of the knights riding in the same carriage as me looked out the carriage window. He was looking at the carriage at the very front. Looking at the carriage, the knight nodded once and then returned to his seat.
"We're leaving now," said the knight, who had previously glanced outside.
After he said this, the carriage in front slowly began to move. As the carriage in front was already moving, the carriage I was in also started to move, following the one in front. The carriage began to make its way to the courthouse.
-
10 minutes later.
We arrived at the courthouse. Since the San Sabaneta Prison is relatively close to the courthouse, the journey didn't take long. When we arrived at the courthouse, we saw a large crowd gathered in front of it. The carriage I was transporting attracted their attention. They turned to look at the carriage as it passed them. The carriage was heading towards the parking lot in the courthouse yard to park its carriages. After arriving at the parking lot in the courtyard of this building, the carriages stopped, and the knights in the other carriages began to get out. The knights who had gotten out began to move closer to the carriage I was riding in. One of the knights opened the door of the carriage I was riding in. Then, the four knights riding with me began to pull me out of the carriage. I finally managed to get out.
As I exited the carriage, the people who had been watching the carriages began to stir. They suddenly became excited when they saw me disembark.
"That's him,"
"So he's the murderer of Duke San Angela's son,"
"I still can't believe he's just an academy student,"
"Even so, he's a murderer. No matter what," the people said.
Some of them shouted "Die, murderer" at me, while others shouted "Free him". It seemed like the crowd had split into two camps: some supporting my death sentence, and others supporting my release.
"I understand that some people hate me for killing Enzo, the Duke's son, but I didn't expect anyone to support my release. Are those supporters on someone's orders?" I thought.
Then, the knights escorting me and I continued walking toward the front door of the courthouse. The entrance to the courthouse was currently blocked by the crowd, but the knights escorting me quickly pushed them aside to clear a path for me. The crowd retreated, forced back by the knights, and I was able to walk easily to the front door of the courthouse. I continued walking, accompanied by the shouts of the crowd. However, as I focused on walking, I heard someone calling my name.
"Rid!!"
The voice sounded very familiar. I immediately turned toward the source of the voice. Then I saw familiar faces.
"You guys, why are you all here?" I asked, slightly surprised.
